Chapter 2080: Chapter 2080 The Fall of the Royal Management

The fleeing leaders now acknowledged that the East was totally doomed, and there was no longer any army to resist the Dark Legion.

Their fall purely depended on the marching speed of the Dark Legion and when they arrive at the Regalty.

Therefore, many soldiers simply fled along the way. However, what they didn’t expect was that the Regalty was about to erupt in battle.

Ye Tiandao had already sent people to infiltrate the place to understand the strength of the praetorian and what remained of the Royal Court, for targeted arrangements.

Many powerful forces immediately began to run away after learning that the last great army of the Court was annihilated the next day.

Although the Death Legion was still a month’s distance from the city, no one knew whether they would send a full-speed army directly. Many people began to evacuate in succession.

Even many members of the Court were preparing to escape.

Ye Tiandao decided immediately to launch an attack in the ensuing chaos. The spies who first entered the city were responsible for aiding in their effort and opening the city gate.

However, the guards surrendered without a fight.

Ye Tiandao didn’t care about them and led the troops directly to the palace.

The remaining experts in the palace came out to meet the enemy, but found themselves facing the enslaved martial practitioners of Ye Liuyun.

After a few rounds, the palace was left in shambles.

The Blade Legion also took this opportunity to kill their way into the palace.

The Prince tried wanted to resist a bit, commanding his people to defend with full force.

He had just sent some of his children to the central region in batches these past days. Most of the important members of the Court hadn’t left yet, and the resources hadn’t been moved out either. He was not willing to surrender to the Dark Legion just like that.

But in front of the Blade Legion, their combat power was simply not enough. They went on a killing spree all the way from the front door of the palace, turning the palace into a bloody river.

Ye Tiandao personally led a squad rushing to the treasury, blocking off those royals who were preparing to transfer their resources. Without uttering a word, they started to slaughter and intercepted all the resources.

The soldiers of the Legion, bereft of Ye Tiandao’s command, were ruthless in their attack. Regardless of surrender or resistance, they pursued their killing spree all the way to the great hall.

The Prince standing at the entrance of the great hall, had initially hoped that martial practitioners in the regalty would extend a helping hand.

But until the Blade Legion reached the great hall, not a single soul in the city came forward to help.

He knew the East was definitively finished. Not wishing to become a vanquished captive, he led the remaining people and charged forward.

He was also a seven-level martial practitioner himself, but he was pierced by a spear in just two rounds of combined attack from a few opponents of same level. Subsequently, a soldier beheaded him with a single stroke of a sword.

By the time Ye Tiandao arrived, all the Court members had been slain.

As to this, Ye Tiandao was helpless, after all, the Prince wanted to put up a fight!

She did not occupy the palace, but commanded her soldiers to quickly clean up the battlefield. After plundering all the resources, she left a squad of soldiers to guard the palace gate and immediately withdrew to the city outskirts before waiting for Ye Liuyun to bring the large army to take over the city.

Before leaving, she had the Dark Legion’s flag hoisted on the highest tower of the city wall.

In the following days, the palace would remain vacant.

Many people in the city had never entered the palace in their lifetime. But even if they were curious, no one dared to get in, as nobody knew whether the Dark Legion had left any guards inside.

Moreover, the palace was filled with the stench of blood, eerily silent, and anyone without substantial power wouldn’t dare to enter.

Ye Liuyun ordered Xiao Yunfang to bring her troops and rush to the city with him as the vanguard.

Yu Xiaofeng and Helian Xiu, leading their two separate armies, proceeded as originally planned, advancing in turns and sweeping through each city and town, steadily making their way towards the Regalty.

Pei Yong was at the rear, reorganising the defected soldiers, and arranging for the troops to be stationed at various locations.

When Li Xingrou and several defeated commanders hurried back to the royal city at night, they found the troops of the Dark Legion stationed outside the city. It wasn’t until they noticed the flag hanging from the city gates to realize that the city had been seized.

"It’s over! The Regalty is taken, the Royal Management is over!"

They were all taken aback.

Li Xingrou was worrying about the life and death of the Prince.

"What should we do next? Should we continue to flee, or should we surrender?" someone asked.

That was the harsh reality they had to face.

"The Royal Management is done. Where can we possibly flee to? Even the border area is under their control! I don’t want to be a wanted man for the rest of my life," someone immediately blurted out.

"But if we surrender, wouldn’t they just kill us on the spot?" another person voiced his worry.

"They probably won’t. The war is over. What’s the point of killing us?" reasoned another.

While they debated amongst themselves, Li Xingrou looked distantly at the city, wondering what her future held. Should she return to the Sect, or go to Ye Liuyun instead?

For a time, she couldn’t make a decision.

Suddenly, she realized that there was no longer any noise from behind her.

When she turned around, everyone was looking at her.

"What’s wrong?" she asked.

The commanding officers looked at each other, their faces full of difficulty, and no one spoke.

"Do whatever you want, don’t worry about me! The Royal Management is no longer in existence, so there’s no need for blind loyalty. I understand how you feel!" Li Xingrou spoke understandingly.

"We’re sorry, Princess. We have decided to surrender, but we can’t go empty-handed. Maybe you can still create a chance of survival for us!" A commander spoke out as no one else dared to.

"Are you going to hand me over to the Dark Legion? You..." Li Xingrou was too shocked to speak.

It is said, people who act only out of self-interest will face divine retribution, but the expression on these people’s faces changed too quickly!

Li Xingrou could only give a bitter smile. She felt like being a princess was no better than being an ordinary person!

"I’ll make my sacrifice."

Li Xingrou said this and went straight to Ye Tiandao’s residence.

The commanders, although they felt guilty, had to sacrifice the princess for their own lives.

They surrounded Li Xingrou and followed her, fearing she would suddenly flee.

As soon as they arrived at the entrance of the residence, they were immediately surrounded by the soldiers of the Blade Legion.

Upon receiving the report, Ye Tiandao immediately ordered them to be tied up temporarily and reported to Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun laughed at the news.

"I intentionally let her go in Meadowtopia. I didn’t expect her to be delivered back to me in this way.

Fine! The mess I’ve made, I should be the one to resolve it in the end of the day. Treat her well, let her wait for me to come over. Just kill those few leaders who sell their honor for glory!"

"Yes!" Ye Tiandao agreed, personally going to untie Li Xingrou.

"The master said to let you stay here with me for the time being, wait for him to come over!" Ye Tiandao said to Li Xingrou.

Li Xingrou nodded as well. She was now disillusioned, feeling safer being with Ye Liuyun.

Ye Tiandao then waved to her men, "Kill them!"
