Chapter 2072: Chapter 2072 No One to Rely On
Azure approached Ye Liuyun and pretended to provide a detailed account of what had happened to him.
Li Xingrou also confronted Murong Tian, "Murong Tian, don’t think I didn’t hear what you said! What do you mean by accusing me of sneaking around behind your back with another man? Who do you think you are you to me? Do I need to even hide things from you?"
"You wrongfully accused me and hurt my integrity. You owe me an explanation!"
After Ye Liuyun heard Azure’s explanation, he said to Murong Tian, "According to your logic, if I were in the room, I’m considered being caught red-handed by you? Thank God I wasn’t in there. Otherwise, I can never clear this up!"
"Murong Tian, you showed up at my house uninvited to wreak havoc and even instigated the guards to attack the disciples. You’ve violated the sect’s rules!"
The multiple accusations from everyone left Murong Tian speechless.
Before long, the Elder from the Law Enforcement Hall arrived with an entourage and seized Murong Tian away, placing him under custody.
The two guards were carried back to Murong Tian’s residence.
Jin Qingsong arranged for the reconstruction of Ye Liuyun’s home. Ye Liuyun joined Jin Qingsong at the Pill Hall to demonstrate refining Elixirs before a large crowd.
Soon after the two guards were brought to Murong Tian’s residence, Chen Feng’s silhouette appeared stealthily in the room.
It was Ye Liuyun’s clone, hidden under the Concealcape. He sneaked in along with the disciples who were carried in by the guards.
One of the guards who was conscious startled when he saw him.
"Chen Feng? How did you get in here?"
Because of his severe injuries, he was unable to rise from the bed and could only scream in the hopes that someone would hear him.
Without any hesitation, Ye Liuyun’s clone removed the guard’s protection item and launched a Divine Soul attack. After he was finished, he did the same to the other unconscious guard. He then put on his Concealcape again and returned to his invisibility state.
A servant outside the door heard the guard’s shout. He hurried in to check, only to find the guard dead!
Shocked, he rushed to the Hall of Enforcement to report to Murong Tian.
Murong Tian reported to the Hall of Enforcement right away claiming that Chen Feng had killed his guards. The hall dispatched guards to arrest Ye Liuyun.
"Nonsense! This is a scheme from Murong Tian! I’ve been here refining pills the whole time and have never left. All the disciples of Pill Hall can prove that for me!" Ye Liuyun deliberately argued with the enforcement team.
However, the guards didn’t care. They were there to arrest him.
"Fine, I’ll go with you!" Jin Qingsong chose to go along with Ye Liuyun to the Hall of Enforcement.
When they arrived, Elder Yujian vouched that Chen Feng had been within everyone’s sight all the time.
When they called him in for interrogation, they discovered that Murong Tian’s servant had merely heard a noise calling for help and had not seen anyone.
Hence, Elder Yujian concluded on the spot that Murong Tian was making false allegations.
Murong Tian was not satisfied. "How did my two guards die then? Their injuries were severe, but it did not warrant an instant death."
Elder Yujian responded: "Your guards aren’t disciples of our sect, and the Hall will not investigate matters outside of the Sect. That’s your issue."
"We are only discussing the allegation made for Chen Feng. He was proved by many that he was refining pills in the hall. How could it be false? You can’t convict Chen Feng based on a guess from your servant!"
Murong Tian was helpless with the verdict.
Elder Yujian even summoned all the disciples from the Pill Hall. Everyone confirmed that Ye Liuyun had been refining Elixirs in the Pill Hall all the time.
"But who killed those guards? Their injuries were severe, but surely they wouldn’t die immediately?" He even doubted his servant, wondering if he had misheard.
However, he had matters of his own to deal with and couldn’t leave the Enforcement Hall. All he could do was instruct his subordinates not to disturb the body and wait for him to return for further investigation.
At this moment, Ye Liuyun asked Elder Yujian about how would Murong Tian be punished for his crime.
"The penalty may be light or severe depending on other factors. Since there were no injuries, compensation for damages would be the standard punishment. For a Sacred Disciple, it is not a major offence to commit trespass into the Pill Hall or to incite guards to fight against sect disciples. He might be confined for a few days at most without losing his title as the Sacred Disciple!" Elder Yujian replied.
"That’s all? We shall then let him compensate all the damages and detain him for as long as possible!"
Ye Liuyun could only instruct Elder Yujian to detain Murong Tian for the maximum number of days. He intended to take advantage of this period of his absence to have Li Xingrou destroy all of Murong Tian’s allies.
When Murong Tian was released, he would find that he had no one to rely on anymore.
Meanwhile, Liu Xing, Jin Hui and the rest had returned to report to Ye Liuyun.
The task was accomplished with success. Rather than supporting Murong Tian, the major families chose to cooperate with Jin Hui. The cunning tricks Murong Tian had been doing left them feeling repulsed. From this, Murong Tian’s major financial resources were deprived.
Ye Liuyun gave the antidote to Liu Xing in time to suppress his poison.
During Liu Xing’s absence, the Northsky Sect had completely been transformed. Murong Tian no longer had anyone on his side.
Following a series of questions, Liu Xing reviewed every aspect. It was obvious that Ye Liuyun’s acts were directed against Murong Tian, even though he was unaware of how Ye Liuyun accomplished some of his feats.
"Who is this man? He’s truly remarkable!" Liu Xing thought to himself. He was utterly clueless about his identity.
Towards Ye Liuyun, he was completely devoted and dared not have a second thought about him.
Even someone as powerful as Murong Tian ended up losing his compatriots after being dealt with by Ye Liuyun. In the same situation, he might end up worse.
He understood his abilities well. He realized that he could only survive under the shelter of a powerful force.
His current concern was what to do if Murong Tian tracked him down after being released by the Law Enforcement Hall.
However, his worry was rather proved to be in vain.
Because Elder Lu Yi, the Deputy Leader of the Northsky Sect, who was in charge of external affairs, has returned.
He constantly travelled between the major powers all year round, and this time, he brought back information about the Alliance of Merchants and Eastern Royal Management for discussion upon his return to the sect.
The sect leader gathered all of the sect elders to share their thoughts on it.
Elder Lu Yi commenced the meeting with his speech, "The main subject for this meeting is to discuss the news I received on the Alliance of Merchants and Eastern Royal Management."
"Let’s start with the Eastern Royal Management, they can’t hold out any longer. The Dark Legion has seized the Bloody Cloud City. They are currently resting in between battles, but it’s only a matter of time before they attack the Eastern Royal Management."
"They are willing to provide a large amount of resources to get our support. These resources include Spirit Crystals..."
After a brief pause, Lu Yi said, "The Alliance of Merchants is also eager to offer us resources in exchange for our resources. They’ve been told that we are currently holding the Sacred disciple, Murong Tian. Is this true?"
Mr. Ma quickly explained the situation.
Lu Yi merely smiled and didn’t pay much heed to it as he continued to discuss the major issues, stating his own opinions.
"Both parties are willing to provide resources for our assistance. But judging from the information I’ve received, the Eastern Royal Management’s defeat is inevitable."
"We could only assist the Eastern Royal Management to hold out for another year or so. Even if we were to completely support them and devote all of our Elders and disciples to it. After that, all we can do is wait for a miracle."
