Chapter 2066: Chapter 2066 Cleaning Up The Mess
Ye Liuyun really couldn’t be bothered to deal with the two of them anymore.
He simply focused on piloting the flying vessel at full speed.
"Where are you going? This isn’t the way back to our sect!" Zhang Minghui immediately cried out when she spotted this.
"We can’t go back yet, not until we’ve cleared our suspicions." Ye Liuyun stated.
"How do we clear our suspicions?" Bai Feng also asked.
"There will be someone who takes blame for us!" Ye Liuyun answered casually.
At this point, he had his clone carried the Crown Prince’s corpse and the four mid eighth-tier martial practitioners back to the camp with the teleportation black tower and handed them over to Yu Xiaofeng.
Yu Xiaofeng then swiftly ordered for the corpse to be impaled on a spear and lifted it high on the battlefield.
Those four mid-stage eight-layer martial artists were also given to Yu Xiaofeng by Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun informed him of some information he had gathered from within the crown prince’s ocean of consciousness. "The Eastern Royal Management has practically no strength left. Their experts are almost all exhausted. Originally, they cooperated with the Wanshang Alliance, in hope of toppling the Xuantian Sect and receiving support from the alliance. But that is not achievable anymore. You can confidently engage in battle now."
Initially, they cooperated with the Alliance of Merchants, in hope of toppling the Northsky Sect and receiving support from the alliance. But that is not achievable anymore. You can confidently engage in battle now."
"The Alliance of Merchants would cooperate with them?" Yu Xiaofeng asked in surprise.
"I reckon the Alliance of Merchants is merely using them, there’s no real cooperation. But whether it’s true or not, there’s no need for you to concern yourself with the Alliance of Merchants for now. I’ll let you know when the time is right." Ye Liuyun responded.
Later, the clone returned to Ye Liuyun’s spatial world using the teleportation black tower.
After dealing with the crown prince’s corpse, Ye Liuyun still had to help Bai Feng and her disciple find a plausible excuse for this outing.
Li Yunguang brought along experts to kill Bai Feng, which was undoubtedly known by the Eastern Sea King. He would definitely look into this matter.
He needed to find an alibi for Bai Feng.
He asked Li Jian to accompany him to the mission hall and find a remote bandit subjugation mission. Then he took Bai Feng and Zhang Minghui there.
Along the way, he had to explain to them why they needed to complete this bandit subjugation task.
"You complete the mission by yourselves and then go back to the sect. We can’t go back together.
After returning, don’t mention to anybody that you’ve met me outside of the sect especially about meeting Li Yunguang. Whoever asked about your whereabout just tell them you went for a bandit subjugation."
After giving them instructions and sending them off, Ye Liuyun recalled his flying vessel and hid himself at a distance to keep them under his protection.
He feared that these two fools would fall prey to the bandits. Not only failing in their mission, but also ending up in danger.
But this time everything went fine. Perhaps they knew these were bandits and showed no mercy in disposing of them. Having accomplished the task assigned by their sect, they hurried back.
Ye Liuyun followed them until they entered the sect. Only then did he feel relieved and returned to Northsky Sect.
As expected, Bai Feng and her disciple were immediately surrounded by several Elders from the Eastern Royal Management once they returned to the sect.
But they did not dare to make a move publicly in the Northsky Sect.
"Don’t mind them. They’re not the sect master. It’s not their place to inquire about your whereabouts. If they have any questions, they can go to the sect master first." Ye Liuyun gave them advice.
Bai Feng repeated what she was told. The Eastern Royal Management elders were left helpless and had to approach the sect master.
Thus, in the presence of the sect master, Bai Feng revealed that she had gone to clear out bandits with Zhang Minghui. She even presented evidence to support her statement.
"Have you seen the Crown Prince or his guards?" One of the elders asked.
"I have not!" Bai Feng answered straightforwardly.
Regardless of their questioning, Bai Feng stood her ground that she had not seen the Crown Prince and did not know anything.
Yao Donglai, the sect master, naturally defended Bai Feng. He vehemently insisting that Bai Feng was not responsible for it.
The people of the Eastern Royal Management could not glean any information. They had no other option than to go to the bandit subjugation location for further investigation. In the end, they could not find any anomalies.
They were quite puzzled. Judging by the timeline, the body of the Crown Prince should not have been found outside the Blood Cloud City, in the Dead Legion’s territory.
However, they could not find any loopholes either from Bai Feng’s side. They visited the battlefield of the Crown Prince and did not find any traces of Bai Feng or Zhang Minghui. Hence, they could not confirm that Bai Feng was the culprit.
They had intended to send people to retrieve the body of the Crown Prince and check for any clues. However, all those who went were obliterated by the elders subdued by Ye Liuyun.
Yu Xiaofeng simply hung the Crown Prince’s head on a long spear, his body was burned to ashes, leaving them with no solid leads.
After returning, Bai Feng along with Zhang Minghui were constantly cultivating and did not leave the sect. The sect even specifically cancelled Zhang Minghui’s sect tasks so she could focus on cultivating within the sect intending to protect them.
The Eastern Royal Management was helpless. They could only asked Lo Xingrou and Murong Tian to arrange people to watch over the movement of these two. At the same, they were continuing their investigation of finding the true mastermind behind killing the Crown Prince.
However, Li Xingrou’s addiction had been growing stronger.
When Ye Liuyun left, Li Xingrou had actually visited him. But, since Ye Liuyun was not there, there was nothing she could do.
After she ran out of her Youth Preserving Pill, she had no choice but to find Ye Liuyun again.
Upon seeing Ye Liuyun, she was almost going mad.
Luckily, Azure knew her purpose of visiting and agreed to lend Ling Xingrou her Youth Preserving Pill for temporary use. She even leveraged this opportunity to charge her a hefty price.
But all Li Xingrou cared about was the elixir. She did not mind paying any amount and agreed to Azure’s proposal immediately.
Since then, Li Xingrou arranged someone to stay put at Ye Liuyun’re residence to inform her as sson as Ye Liuyun had returned.
Thus, Li Xingrou folllwed behind the moment Ye Liuyun returned.
"Junior, where have you been all these days without being in the sect?" Lixingrou began interrogating Ye Liuyun as soon as she walked in.
"Oh, a friend from the Shui family happened to pass by and brought me some specialized medical herbs. I didn’t want her to have to go all the way to the sect to deliver them, so I went out to meet her." Ye Liuyun brought up the Shui family name, certain that Li Xingroi wound not bother to verify.
Shui Bingyue had entered the Eastern plantation as she wished. According to the timeframe, she should still be on her way and had not arrived yet.
Li Xingrou did not particularly want to know where he went but just casually asking.
"If it weren’t for your little maid this time, I’d have been doomed! She lent me some Youth Preserving Pill, which helped me hold on for some days. Can you refine more for me next time?" Li Xingrou wanted Ye Liuyun to prepare larger quantity for her next time.
"Oh? She still have some Youth Preserving Pill left? Those were the ones I refined for her a long time ago. I didn’t expect she would still keep them."
Ye Liuyun dropped subtle hints that Azure had run out of stock and then explained to Li Xingrou. "Senior Xingrou, it’s not that I don’t want to refine more for you each time, it’s just that the Youth Preserving Pill requires meticulous effort and time. Also, I can’t make a lot at once because it’s very time-consuming."
Ye Liuyun felt that it was time to start reeling in.
