"Why don’t you wait for Master for a moment? I believe she would like to have a few words with you! She mentioned that she wanted to thank you," said Zhang Minghui.
"All right, then! I will accompany you to go meet her. It wouldn’t be appropriate for her to come all the way to meet me!" Ye Liuyun said as he followed Zhang Minghui to Bai Feng’s cultivation site.
Bai Feng expressed her gratitude to Ye Liuyun once again and then began chatting with him about his past.
Ye Liuyun was at a loss, unsure whether to reveal his true identity or that of Chen Feng.
Furthermore, he believed Bai Feng to be an honest person. Since it was a given opportunity, he chose to speak openly with her to find out her thoughts.
After all, there was a soul contract in place, he wasn’t worried about Bai Feng going against him.
He communicated with Bai Feng through their soul contract, telling her that he would like to have a private chat with her.
"Zhang Minghui, why don’t you return to your place to recuperate from your injury? I’ll have a chat with Chen Feng," Bai Feng sent Zhang Minghui away.
Zhang Minghui thought Bai Feng wanted to talk with Ye Liuyun about her potential relationship with him, so she agreed with a reddened face and rushed back to her room.
As for Bai Feng, she watched Zhang Minghui’s retreating figure knowingly and shook her head, "This young girl!"
Having watched Zhang Minghui grow up since she was a child, she understood what she was thinking.
"I need to talk to you about the soul contract," Ye Liuyun said, speaking straightforwardly to Bai Feng, oblivious to Zhang Minghui’s expression.
"I will keep my promise. You can rest assured, and I won’t tell anyone about it," Bai Feng thought this was what Ye Liuyun was concerned about.
"That’s not what I mean!" Ye Liuyun replied calmly. Then, his face suddenly changed, transforming from Chen Feng’s appearance to his original appearance.
Bai Feng was startled, and her mouth fell agape. She couldn’t help asking, "Who are you?"
She seldom involves herself in matters outside the sect, hence she doesn’t recognize Ye Liuyun.
"Ye Liuyun. Have you ever heard of this name?" Ye Liuyun asked straightforwardly.
Bai Feng suddenly recalled the person he mentioned. "That mercenary leader?"
Ye Liuyun calmly nodded.
Bai Feng suddenly leapt up to her feet, attempting to summon her genuine energy to exert her dominance. But she was under the control of the Soul Contract and couldn’t act on anything that would threaten Ye Liuyun.
"What’s the purpose of you doing this? Are you here to destroy Northsky Sect?" Bai Feng asked for clarification.
Ye Liuyun moved his hand to signal Bai Feng to return to her seat with the power of the Soul Contract. He wanted to calm her emotions.
"I revealed my identity to you because I wanted to discuss this matter in detail! Do not overreact, hear me out first."
Bai Feng noticed that Ye Liuyun didn’t seem to harbour any ill intentions. She slightly calmed down and listened to Ye Liuyun’s explanation.
Ye Liuyun began telling her about his journey from the Eastern Frontier battlefield up to the present.
During his narration to Bai Feng, he was relaying the same information to Elder Kurong and Yu Jian through the Slaving Seal.
"I don’t have any ill intentions towards the Northsky Sect. Initially, when I infiltrated the sect, I was trying to prevent the Northsky Sect from becoming my enemy."
"It was not until I was here that I found out that the Alliance of Merchants and the Eastern Royal Management had already launched attacks on the Northsky Sect from inside and outside. If the Northsky Sect continues to be my enemy, it will only benefit both the Alliance of Merchants and the Eastern Royal Management."
"The reason I took control of you all is to make sure that you wouldn’t strike me whenever a conflict between us arose. I do not intend to use the Soul Contract to enslave you."
"All my actions will not harm the Northsky Sect whatsoever. I have a way to resolve the Northsky Sect’s issues, and even lead it back on the right track."
"Murong Tian won’t be able to maintain his position as the first sacred child of the sect for much longer! You guys, in consideration of the Alliance of Merchants, can’t lay a hand on him. It’s only fitting for me to take action against him in this situation."
"The Eastern Royal Management will be destroyed by me sooner or later. As for the Alliance of Merchants, it depends on the timing and their attitude."
"Hence, do not think of me as your enemy!"
After Ye Liuyun finished his speech, the three elders fell into contemplation.
He added, "If I wanted to harm the Northsky Sect, wouldn’t it be easier for me to simply kill you all? With it, the Northsky Sect would not survive. How long do you think it would hold on without all of you?"
"The reason I’m exerting so much effort now is to help the Northsky Sect rise again and become my future ally!"
Bai Feng immediately replied, "The Northsky Sect will never ally with your mercenary troops!"
Nevertheless, Ye Liuyun chuckled at her reply, "That’s true for now. But what if I take over the Eastern Royal Management? Isn’t the Northsky Sect currently aligned with the Eastern Royal Management? Even if it was a pretentious relationship."
"There are too many uncertainties! Becoming a major force is not as easy as you think!" Elder Kurong chimed in the conversation with Ye Liuyun through the Slaving Seal.
Ye Liuyun agreed with him, but he also added, "Naturally, the journey won’t be smooth. But even if I can’t replace the Eastern Royal Management, I will still replace Murong Tian’s position and break the Alliance of Merchants’s attempt to corrode the Northsky Sect. How would that harm the sect?"
The elders eventually agreed with Ye Liuyun’s argument.
"So what do you need us to do?" Bai Feng queried.
Ye Liuyun replied honestly, "Simply not opposing me is enough. You can just watch everything else. It’s as simple as that!"
"I’m explaining this to you to make sure you understand what I’m planning to do. I don’t want you to make wild guesses, and also avoid having you hate me unnecessarily!"
"Even if we don’t agree, is there anything else we can do to stop you? I hope you are telling us the truth!" Bai Feng responded with much resignation, she appeared to have resigned to her fate!
Ye Liuyun also laughed as he replied, "There’s no need for me to lie to you. You can observe everything that I do!"
Ye Liuyun made his intention clear to them before letting them return to their business.
He couldn’t free them from servitude or the soul contract now, fearing they might expose him.
"Who else are you controlling now?" Bai Feng asked Ye Liuyun curiously.
He knew that Ye Liuyun had spoken to more than just her about what had happened, but she was unsure who else was involved.
Ye Liuyun didn’t tell her but reminded her. "Just because I didn’t use the soul contract to control you doesn’t mean that I can’t. What you shouldn’t know, you don’t need to ask. Mind your own business!"
Bai Feng sighed before she said to Ye Liuyun, "After Minghui is healed, I plan on seeking revenge for her. Her enemy is the crown prince of the Eastern Royal Management, Li Yunguang."
"Oh?" Ye Liuyun’s interest was piqued.
After Bai Feng told him what happened, Ye Liuyun thought it sounded suspicious.
"It’s strange enough that Li Yunguang was able to encounter Zhang Minghui. Despite knowing she was your disciple, he chose to leave her a living cripple for you rather than killing her to silence her. He also hinted that they would be around for a month. Previously, Bai Feng only thought about avenging her disciple. However, after hearing Ye Liuyun’s rationale, she began to doubt.

"I will go with you to check the situation. But you will follow my instructions at all times!"
Ye Liuyun decided to confront the Crown Prince personally. With it, he stood a chance to weaken the Eastern Royal Management’s power. He estimated that if the Eastern Royal Management was plotting against Bai Feng, they must have brought along plenty of martial practitioners with them.
