Chapter 2031: Chapter 2031 Formation’s Error
Mao Hongyin agreed to help Ye Liuyun, not merely because he saw potential in him. The truth was that the head of the sect and the other elders were looking forward to Ye Liuyun’s test results with great anticipation.
Ye Liuyun was unable to go on to the last phase of the test because his energy reserve was not fully charged yet. He had no choice but to do this as he could not afford to keep the sect head and the elders waiting either.
"Thank you!" Ye Liuyun expressed his gratitude to Mao Hongyin.
Mao Hongyin then handed over the badge to Ye Liuyun.
This time, Ye Liuyun didn’t even draw his sword before heading back to the main hall.
He first transferred all his advanced energy into the Storage Stone and handed it over to his clone. Then only he activated the badge to close the door of the hall.
Once the hall’s door was closed, a foreign race composed of spiritual energy emerged and launched an attack on him.
Initially, Ye Liuyun replenished his energy with his Elemental Spirit Secret Skill. Once his energy was topped up, he practised his combat skills with the foreign race, familiarizing himself with the strength of the sixth level. He had used up some of his advanced energy on it which was swiftly replenished later on.
After strengthening his sixth-level power, he opened the great hall again and walked out.
He returned the token to Mao Hongyin and expressed his gratitude once again.
No matter the outcome, his journey was not in vain!
Mao Hongyin, smiled broadly as he looked at Ye Liuyun.
He reckoned that Ye Liuyun’s virtuoso was more than twice that of an average martial practitioner, judging by the number of foreign races Ye Liuyun had killed.
"Hahaha, a twofold genuine energy! Good, very good!" Mao Hongyin kept on praising him.
Ye Liuyun realized he had inadvertently exposed his advanced energy’s strength. However, he couldn’t do anything about it except keep his polite smile and made a note to himself to be extra careful in the future.
After Mao Hongyin had enough fun, he took Ye Liuyun to test his Divine Soul strength.
Following the same procedure as before with Formation, except this time it was an illusion array. In the array, two elderly dressed conventionally conversed in a relaxed manner.
The two elderly were among the potential masters that Yao Donglai had found for Ye Liuyun. They cared more about their disciples’ Divine Soul strength, so they joined in to test.
However, they had already spoken with Mao Hongyin in advance for him to ignore their participation.
Hence, Mao Hongyin brought Ye Liuyun over and did not explain the situation to him nor did he introduce him to them.
Ye Liuyun didn’t know what was going on, but he was sure that one of the elders must be an Alchemist. Since he planned to enter the Pill Hall for practice, upon meeting an Alchemist, he was keen to know more about it.
Ye Liuyun sent a telepathic voice message to Mao Hongyin: "The elder with a somewhat old-looking robe, is he an Alchemist?"
Mao Hongyin didn’t reply through telepathic, but asked, "Huh? How did you know he’s an Alchemist?"
Ye Liuyun directly replied without using a telepathic voice message, "I am also an Alchemist, and I’m sensitive to the smell of medicinal herbs!"
At this moment, the two elders who were chatting also turned to glance at him.
The elder who donned a rather worn-looking robe with a somewhat unkempt appearance, asked Ye Liuyun, "You are an Alchemist?"
Ye Liuyun did not want to lose this opportunity and immediately took out his Alchemist badge to show him.
"An Alchemist of the fifth order! Hahaha!" The elder laughed heartily as he saw it.
Ye Liuyun was dumbfounded by his reaction, not knowing what was funny about it.
"Is he mocking me for my low grade?" Ye Liuyun thought.
"Ignore him, he’s just a madman! Hurry up and follow me to the test!" Mao Hongyin worried that the elder would reveal the test information.
The elder who just spoke was Jin Qingsong, the head of Pill Hall. He laughed because he thought that as long as Ye Liuyun met his requirements, he would be his disciple and return to the Pill Hall with him.
With no other choice, Ye Liuyun bowed politely and followed Mao Hongyin into the Formation for the next test.
"Haha, you can go back now! This young man is destined to be my disciple!" Jin Qingsong smugly told the opposing elder.
"That’s not necessarily true! Just because he can refine pills, doesn’t mean he is bound to go to the Pill Hall. Our Formation department does have disciples who can refine pills!"
The elder across from him was Wu Kun, an elder of Northsky Sect’s Formation department, who was also trying to seize Ye Liuyun as his alchemy apprentice.
As they argued with each other, they watched Ye Liuyun walk into the Illusion Array.
"How long do you think it will take him to get out?" Jin Qingsong asked.
When it came to formations, Wu Kun was more adept. However, they had both tried this formation, and the results were about the same. It was in less than an hour.
Throughout the Northsky Sect, only Elder Ku Rong had the shortest time. He did it in less than half an hour.
"Even if his divine soul is powerful, it should take him at least an hour, right?" Wu Kun made his guess.
"That’s not necessarily true. What if his divine soul power is stronger than yours? Perhaps he can get out in less than an hour! There’s no need for any formation skills, it depends on his divine soul power!" Jin Qingsong retorted.
"At least for the first trial, it usually takes more than an hour, right?" Wu Kun was not convinced.
"Not everyone is like you! Constantly going in to have a try! I’ve only gone in once and my time was about the same as yours. If it weren’t for your constant entry, you definitely wouldn’t be as quick as I am!"
Jin Qingsong and Wu Kun started to argue.
At this moment, Mao Hongyin also came over and reminded them, "Mr. Jin and Mr. Wu, you mustn’t reveal your identity! Otherwise, the incoming tests would be in vain!"
"We understand. Rest assured!" Jin Qingsong responded with a casual attitude.
"Whether it’s alchemy or formation department, the final stage is not that important to us," Wu Kun uttered.
"It cannot be! Since it’s a test, we must follow it thoroughly. The final stage is more about testing a person’s character and the disciple’s manners, we can’t neglect it!" Mao Hongyin immediately started his speech.
The three chatted for a while, and shortly after, Ye Liuyun emerged from the formation.
The three looked at Ye Liuyun in disbelief as if they had seen a ghost.
"You...you have completed the test?" Mao Hongyin stammered in doubt.
"Yes!" Ye Liuyun nodded. In his mind, he was thinking, "Isn’t it obvious, I wouldn’t be out if I hadn’t!"
"This is impossible? Wu Kun, can you check if there’s a problem with the formation?" Jin Qingsong told Wu Kun to verify.
However, Wu Kun disregarded him and asked Ye Liuyun, "How many illusionary worlds did you go through?"
"Twelve of them! There are indeed some minor issues with the formation. Some parts have errors. But it doesn’t affect the overall function," Ye Liuyun answered.
Among all the other formations, Ye Liuyun was most familiar with the Illusory Array. He had learned Illusory Array before. Paired with some basic knowledge of formation he learnt from Qiong Qi, he was able to point out the errors of the formation with his Golden Phantom Eyes.
If he hadn’t inspected the formation for errors, he would finished much earlier.
"I must be crazy! You could finish in half an hour? There must be a problem with the formation!" Jin Qingsong insisted.
"Oh? Can you tell us specifically what the error is?" Wu Kun’s interest in Ye Liuyun was increased.
He had reviewed the Formation before Ye Liuyun’s arrival, indeed, he found two errors. But it wouldn’t affect the function and he was too lazy to correct it. He initially planned to have a disciple of his correct it.
