Chapter 2019: Chapter 2019 Problem Solved

Ye Liuyun also felt that this time was truly fortunate!

Not only did he manage to save Feng Hongxiu, but he also had the opportunity to take down the Great Expert, eliminating a powerful adversary.

"But why when you were trapped, you still told me you could definitely get me out?" Feng Hongxiu asked perplexedly.

At that point, it must have been beyond what Ye Liuyun had predicted.

Ye Liuyun pointed to his Golden Phantom Eyes and chuckled, "At that time, I already saw the Great Expert being killed!"

Feng Hongxiu looked at Ye Liuyun’s Golden Phantom Eyes and inquired earnestly, "You can really see through everything with your Golden Phantom Eyes?"

"Yeap!" confirmed Ye Liuyun.

"Then you better not look at me using them!" Feng Hongxiu warned Ye Liuyun with a flushed face.

"These Golden Phantom Eyes of mine, I can choose to use them or not to, usually I don’t even use them!" Ye Liuyun quickly explained to her, fearing that she would misunderstand.

"Can others tell the difference when you use it then?" Feng Hongxiu questioned again.

"Not really! But when I look at someone, those who have a higher realm, or are more sensitive, would probably notice it," Ye Liuyun responded.

"Oh!" Feng Hongxiu replied, no longer asking about Ye Liuyun’s Golden Phantom Eyes.

Aside from their first encounter when Ye Liuyun used his Golden Phantom Eyes to gauge her realm, he truly hadn’t observed her using them again.

"So, where are you going next?" Feng Hongxiu asked.

"I need to go back to the border battlefield for a while, then decide where to head next! Right now, my strength is too weak, I can’t always rely on others to protect me. I have to figure out how to enhance my strength, engage more in battles for practice!"

Ye Liuyun’s recent visit to Bloody Cloud City had made him realised the difference between his own strength and the power of the elites. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Therefore, unless he encountered any special events, he wanted to stay on the border battlefield, diligently cultivating himself, at least to elevate his realm to above the sixth.

"Your Divine Soul’s not weak! In terms of other strengths, they are relatively weaker than the higher realms, but among peers of the same realm, you’re considered powerful too!" Feng Hongxiu said objectively.

"But what’s the use? The people I offend are all from higher realms!" Ye Liuyun replied with a helpless bitter smile.

After they finished eating, Ye Liuyun, along with Feng Hongxiu, took the flying vessel back to the border battlefield.

On the way, he paid a special visit to the city where the Chen family and the Kong family were located, and sent Xenocide out to assassinate several strong opponents of Kong Jiaxiang and Chen Taihe, removing all obstacles for them to seize the patriarch’s throne.

Feng Hongxiu just followed and watched the excitement. To deal with these people, she didn’t need to take any action at all, Xenocide alone was enough.

Meanwhile, while on the road, Ye Liuyun had already received information about Ye Tiandao returning to the Dark Legion.

Instead of waiting to return, he directly ordered the army to launch a full-scale attack.

The Blade Legion was still leading the charge, with no divisions this time. Yu Xiaofeng personally commanded, with He Lianxiu acting as the vanguard of the army.

The towns surrounding the border battlefield had already been harried by the Dark Legion and were easily taken.

Ye Liuyun’s Dark Legion quickly occupied more than a dozen eastern towns.

Besides dealing with local defenders and those from the City Lord Manor, the Dark Legion didn’t go out of their way to attack other forces or civilians. As long as no one took the initiative to confront them, they didn’t massacre indiscriminately.

Before Ye Liuyun reached the border battlefield, he ran into the Dark Legion.

He handed over the seized vehicles and the two Dragophants to He Lianxiu and handed the remaining martial practitioners at the Seventh Realm to Ye Tiandao.

He only left Mo Hai, Bai Sha, Jin Hui, and Ning Fei by his side as his guards.

Ye Liuyun even ordered them to wear the armour of the Dark Legion and to exhibit their realm as initial Sixth Realm. They should not carelessly reveal their true realms.

Subsequently, Ye Liuyun instructed them to pilot the flying vessel, and continued heading towards the border battlefield.

Along the way, Feng Hongxiu was also amazed to finally see Ye Liuyun’s army everywhere.

Especially the large army of 250,000 at the border, with their camps spreading miles. The Demi-beast’s army were also stationed on both sides.

"D*mn, you weren’t kidding!" Feng Hongxiu, unable to refrain from remarking as she looked at these armies, "You gonna need loads of resources to support all these people man!"

"Now you finally know how hard it is for me, huh? You must think that I seemed to get a lot of resources but look, plenty of people are waiting for these resources! What I obtain is split amongst these soldiers and it’s still not enough for just a day!" Ye Liuyun couldn’t help sighing.

Feng Hongxiu, however, disdainfully replied, "Alright, stop complaining. Even if you keep complaining, the Scarlet Cardinal House’s still not gonna refund you! Didn’t I sacrifice myself to accompany you already? Still not happy?"

A helpless smile appeared on Ye Liuyun’s face and he did not continue on this topic. In fact, he truly felt a deep sense of concern. With so many soldiers, if they didn’t fight or obtain any loots for a day, the army would just be living off their existing resources.

The forces which he could control now, besides mercenaries, were metal and ore businesses. It was far from sufficient to maintain the needs of the army over a long time.

Ye Liuyun, thinking about this on the way, made immediate arrangements. Otherwise, he would get too busy and forget.

He quickly discussed with Xiao Yunfang and Yu Xiaofeng to capture fewer prisoners and to let the Dark Legion soldiers guard the city.

If it was necessary to recruit some high-realm soldiers, then they would need to eliminate some low-realm soldiers.

"The ones who got eliminated will replace the southern border defenses, and they should be directly arranged to retire!"

After discussion, Ye Liuyun and the others finally came to a unanimous decision.

In the Royal Management in the East, having a large army wasn’t considered particularly useful. It was the strength of one’s force that mattered.

This way, the strength of the soldiers in the Royal Management in the South achieved a general enhancement.

However, the large mass of retired soldiers posed a problem of resettlement. It wasn’t advisable to disband them all at once. They needed to be split into smaller squads and deployed to various parts of the city.

Nonetheless, these were issues Ye Liuyun didn’t need to worry about. Mu Lianqing was able to arrange everything for him. His only task was to let Pei Yong coordinate the removal and southward transfer of the eliminated soldiers.

In spite of their elimination, these soldiers still wore the uniforms of the Dark Legion and were under the legion’s management.

Xiao Yunfang was the first to eliminate a batch of one hundred thousand soldiers. These soldiers had been relaxing their cultivation practices due to a long period of no combat. Dong Linghou was also dispatched by Ye Liuyun to manage these eliminated soldiers.

The remaining soldiers were considered military resources. They had to intensify their cultivation and, once their skill level was raised, they would be deployed to the elite battalions on the frontlines to take part in combat.

Afterwards, Ye Liuyun quickly returned to Necropolis with Feng Hongxiu.

The mercenaries guarding Necropolis had nothing to do in their spare time. Under the leadership of Cao Meng, they expanded the city, which ended up being a lot larger than before.

The Celestial Cloud Emporium had also settled within Necropolis. However, due to the unstable condition of the businesses in the southern region, Xuan Yuanling couldn’t personally come here and had arranged for her stewards to manage it instead.

Yet, the range of goods was not quite complete yet. Celestial Cloud Emporium’s rush to establish a presence here was primarily for the convenience of playing a logistical role for the army by exchanging resources with the Dark Legion.
