Chapter 1879: Chapter 1879 Entering the Lin Family
"So, can I stay in the Lin family?" Ye Liuyun asked.
"Sure! I can even teach you about alchemy!" Lin Xiya consented cheerfully.
"Okay, then!" Ye Liuyun replied. This settled his living arrangements.
But when he saw the Interspatial Ring, he complained that he had been tricked, "Don’t you have ten million Spirit Crystals with you?"
Lin Xiya replied awkwardly, "It’s okay, I can ask my master for it. Besides, it is an item she needs, she will pay for it. My master is a nice person."
"Didn’t you say you’re going to refine Elixirs?" Ye Liuyun further questioned.
Lin Xiya explained, "The prescription is from my master. My father is gravely ill, he doesn’t have long, and he needs this spiritual ginseng to create a revival Elixir! I will refine it under the guidance of my master, Lin Luoyi! Have you heard about my master? They call her the Goddess of Alchemy!"
"Does she take disciples?" Ye Liuyun followed up with another question.
Lin Xiya chuckled as she said, "It depends on your abilities! My master is stringent about accepting disciples. But, when she has the time, she will counsel Lin Mansion’s disciples on alchemy. You can first learn the alchemist fundamentals with me, then demonstrate your ability. Who knows, my master might choose you!"
Ye Liuyun nodded without saying anything.
Lin Xiya was chirpy and talked about various aspects of the Lin family along their journey.
Vermilion Bird didn’t come across any adversaries because they were moving away from the mountains. It simply burned them and ate their Yin-soul when they crossed paths.
"You squander so much of your energy! Can you first save some of your virtuoso?" Ye Liuyun reminded Vermilion Bird.
"I fear they come after my Divine Sould before I could attack!" Vermilion Bird defended.
Now it only has one soul left, and its power is only equivalent to the intermediary of the fourth level, if its Ocean of Consciousness was attacked by a feral beast, it would be in danger.
"Go ahead then!"
Ye Liuyun was forced to give in. He could not give the Divine Soul of the Vermilion Bird back to it because it had already become a part of his Divine Soul.
"But take your time. You’ll be able to absorb more soon!" Ye Liuyun consoled the Vermilion Bird.
He had already determined to destroy the Luo Family, who had attempted to seize Lin Xiyao before.
When he reached the edge of the mountain, Ye Liuyun put away the Vermilion Bird. Relying on his powerful Divine Sense, he avoided the patrolling soldiers, escaped from the mountain with Lin Xiyao, and headed directly to the Luo family.
He masked Lin Xiyao and obtained information near the Luo mansion.
Once he found that there were no strong practitioners around, he set the Vermilion Bird loose, setting the entire Luo family ablaze.
However, the flames of the Vermilion Bird were too strong. causing many of the martial practitioner’s Interspatial Ring to burn before he could claim them.
Ye Liuyun only managed to get a few of the Interspatial rings from the main figures of the Luo family, as well as the resources in their vault. It was worth the trip, nonetheless.
After they left town, Lin Xiyao couldn’t help but comment, "I find you rather ruthless."
To which Ye Liuyun explained, "I was forced to be this way! After being tricked a few times, I learnt my lesson. Either don’t make a move, or uproot the problem completely!"
Lin Xiyao nodded in accord. " I appreciate your decisiveness! Maybe I am just destined to be an alchemist. I’m apparently not built for fighting."
"You don’t have to excel in everything. Being exceptional in one field alone is sufficient," Ye Liuyun replied nonchalantly.
Next, Ye Liuyun released a flying vessel, and the pair set off for Regalty. Lin’s family lived not far from Regalty, so it was on their way.
Along the journey, they encountered several bandits. Ye Liuyun simply released the Vermilion Bird each time, causing carnage along their path. This helped further rejuvenate the Vermilion Bird’s Divine Soul. At least enough to not appear weak compared to other divine spirits of the same level.
Ye Liuyun did not practice immediately. But instead, he spent his time studying the strength and deployment of the local garrisons.
At the same time, he spoke to Lin Xiyao about the incident involving the two bandit spies and Kui Sen.
Now that he had signed a Soul Contract with Lin Xiyao, he wasn’t worried about revealing some of the sensitive information.
They even planned out how to explain to the family about acquiring the spiritual ginseng in a way that seemed seamless and discreet.
Ye Liuyun steered the flying vessel to the Regalty first. He wanted to first learn about the troop deployments and power situation in Regalty. Moreover, he planned to send Tong Xin to the Weapon-refining Alliance for registration.
Inside the business centre of the Regalty, Ye Liuyun exchanged all his looted goods for mid-tier Spirit Crystals and stored them. Then, accompanied by Lin Xiyao, he returned to the Lin family.
This was the first time that Ye Liuyun had seen a family as large as a martial practitioner academy.
His Divine Sense found that the disciples of the Lin family were not only good at refining Elixirs but a considerable number of them were martial practitioners skilled at various techniques.
"It’s almost like a school!" Ye Liuyun marvelled discreetly, acknowledging the Lin family as a strong force.
After arriving at the Lin family, Lin Xiyao instantly led Ye Liuyun to her master Lin Luoyi to report about their journey.
Lin Luoyi’s residence was on the top of the medicine mountain in the Lin compound. There was an ancient pill hall where several women were refining elixirs.
At the entrance of the Pill Hall, Lin Xiyao told Ye Liuyun to halt.
"You wait here. Do not wander around. My master does not like men entering the Pill Hall casually," Lin Xiyao warned Ye Liuyun before entering the hall.
Ye Liuyun stood and waited for a while. While Lin Xiyao was still inside after some time, he turned to wander around and looked at a few worker girls watering and fertilizing the herbs.
He noticed one of the workers was fertilizing a spiritual ginseng. However, the ginseng looked rather weak and malnutrition.
Ye Liuyun was also curious, so he asked the spiritual ginseng in his Spatial World the correct way that a spiritual ginseng should be planted.
"We spiritual ginseng don’t need any fertilization or watering! As long as we’re planted in shady places, we can absorb all the energy from the entire mountain. Those who don’t know how to plant, of course, they won’t do it well! If it is in a sunny place, the more they water and fertilize, the faster they die!"
Only then did Ye Liuyun know that the worker had planted the spiritual ginseng in the wrong spot.
He kindly reminded the worker right away, "The spiritual ginseng should not be planted here. It should be planted in a shady place, and you don’t need to water and fertilize it!"

"How dare you? How dare you claim that you’re better than Grand Alchemist Luo Yi?" The worker was raging as she berated Ye Liuyun.
The other workers who were working glared at Ye Liuyun the same way.
And all that was happening outside, was seen by Luo Yi in the Pill Hall.
After hearing Lin Xiyao’s report and seeing the root, she was also in a good mood.
"Is that man outside, the mercenary you mentioned?" She asked.
"Yes, it was him who saved me, and helped me pay for the medicinal herbs!" Lin Xiyao replied.
