Chapter 1874: Chapter 1874 Hunting Down the Anaconda

It was only this moment that Lin Xiyao realised Ye Liuyun had just saved her life.

If Ye Liuyun hadn’t landed a strike on Anaconda, she might have been swallowed whole by it.

Next to her, Shangguan Minghe lost his footing and fell over. Having brushed past Anaconda, he quickly scampered away in fright.

Tang Kuan and Lin Zhi’an were currently engaged in combat with the arrogant bear and were unable to assist Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun immediately used his Golden Phantom Eyes to scan the scene. Then, a Golden Crow-shaped flame wound toward the Anaconda. Anaconda swung its head, unleashing its genuine energy, and blocked the Golden Crow Sacred Fire.

Launching another attack with his blade, Ye Liuyun accelerated with his Soaring Boots to evade Anaconda’s attack. At the same time, he limited Anaconda’s genuine energy using the Elemental Spirit Secret Skill, fighting with the Anaconda.

Kui Sen and his fellow mercenaries rushed in to assist, attacking Anaconda. Lin Xiyao also joined the fray to assist Ye Liuyun, assaulting Anaconda with fire.

Being an alchemist, she didn’t have much combat experience beyond using flames.

Noticing that it couldn’t catch Ye Liuyun, Anaconda quickly gave up and directed its attention toward the group of mercenaries.

The mercenaries dispersed immediately. Yet, Kui Sen had just launched a Devil Qi attack and couldn’t withdraw in time.

Ye Liuyun utilised the Golden Crow Sacred Fire just in time, targeting Anaconda’s head to obstruct its sight, allowing Kui Sen to escape.

Seeing that the mercenaries fled rapidly, Anaconda pursued whoever was closest, only for them to immediately run away, while the rest seized the opportunity to attack it.

Given Anaconda’s massive size, it wasn’t agile. Realising it would suffer a disadvantage if the fight continued, it smashed its head to the ground, creating a crack, intending to burrow underground to hide.

Ye Liuyun swiftly rushed forward, slashing his blade multiple times to block the crack in the ground.

However, Anaconda didn’t care about the danger. It let out its genuine energy to protect its head as it proceeded to burrow into the earth.

Ye Liuyun flashed over to Anaconda’s back in an instant, stabbing it with his blade. He held onto the hilt tightly, using his soul force to infiltrate the creature’s sea of consciousness, even as he was dragged underground by the python.

Actually, killing the Anaconda wasn’t necessary. It’s just that it had forced him to reveal his Flame Force, and he felt that it should pay the price for this.

Anaconda was quick to respond, whipping its tail to block up the surface gap made by the crevices.

Seeing this, Kui Sen sighed, "Why the desperation?"

The other mercenaries all thought Ye Liuyun was guaranteed to die.

Inside, Lin Xiyao was full of guilt, "He saved me, and I misunderstood him! I didn’t even get a chance to thank him properly."

As these thoughts ran through her mind, a ’bang’ sound resounded and dust flew into the air.

The mercenaries were shocked, thinking that Anaconda was bursting out again.

But to their surprise, what appeared was a human figure.

"You’re still alive?" Upon seeing that it was Ye Liuyun, Kui Sen exclaimed in delight.

By this time, Ye Liuyun had already killed Anaconda, and its carcass was safely stored up by him.

As he cleaned off the dust on his body with his advance energy, he turned to Kui Sen and asked with a grin, "Aye? Wish for me to die here?"

"Haha, I know some fortune-telling. Knew you wouldn’t die so easily!" Kui Sen said, laughing heartily.

"Where’s the Anaconda?" A mercenary asked.

"Injured and got away!" said Ye Liuyun nonchalantly. The others didn’t care much, after all, even if it was killed, it wasn’t their bounty.

"I misunderstood you earlier, I’m so sorry! Thank you for saving my life!" Lin Xiyao quickly apologised to Ye Liuyun.

"No worries! I’m just doing this ’cause I got paid!" Ye Liuyun didn’t want her to owe him a favor.

"Ms. Lin, are you alright?" Shangguan Minghe also ran over, pretendingly expressing concern.

But she saw how he fled earlier.

"I’m fine," she replied casually, trying to continue her conversation with Ye Liuyun, but he had already walked away.

"The Flame Force he released earlier was very strong! No wonder he said he could refine pills and all. He recognises herbs and knows how to control flames... Hmm, I wonder what kind of Elixirs he can make." Lin Xiyao contemplated in her mind.

"I was so worried just now! If you get in danger again, don’t rush up, let them deal with it..."

Shangguan Minghe was chattering incessantly by her side.

"Hmm!" Lin Xiyao didn’t even listen to what he was saying and just walked forward.

Tang Kuan and Lin Zhi’an, with the help of everyone, had worn down the two arrogant bears and were calling everyone to share the meat.

In gratitude to Ye Liuyun, Lin Zhi’an directly awarded him the virtuoso of the arrogant bear. He spotted the situation earlier but had no chance to come to assist.

When he initially saw Ye Liuyun slashing toward the ground near Lin Xiyao’s feet, he was startled, thinking that Ye Liuyun was going to take advantage of the situation.

Being offered the virtuoso, Ye Liuyun didn’t reject and accepted it happily.

Tang Kuan looked at Ye Liuyun with admiration and curiously asked, "Dude, how did you spot Anaconda?"

Ye Liuyun simply answered, "Got attacked by an Anaconda from underground before, so I remember it clearly and always pay attention to the ground."

Most martial practitioners would neglect attacks coming from underground.

In reality, he too was one with a strong Divine Sense, having discovered the approaching breath of a creature, and only then noticed the Anaconda below through his Golden Phantom Eyes.

Upon hearing this, Tang Kuan also gave him a thumbs-up.

He genuinely admired Ye Liuyun. If it had not been for him, he probably wouldn’t have noticed the Anaconda in advance. Despite his high realm and quick reflexes, he would not necessarily be swallowed by Anaconda, but he would inevitably be caught off guard by it.

Immediately afterward, they all took a break to restore their genuine energy.

Kui Sen, on the other hand, took out the bear meat he got and invited Ye Liuyun to roast it together.

"Your barbecuing skill’s not good, let me do this." Looking at the way Kui Sen dealt with the meat, Ye Liuyun right away knew that his barbecue skills definitely couldn’t compare to his own, so Ye Liuyun volunteered to take over.

While barbecuing, he even explained to Kui Sen the knack of roasting, making Kui Sen feel slightly baffled. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"So much to consider in barbequing?" asked Kui Sen, puzzled.

"Of course! Don’t believe me, try a piece I grilled!" Ye Liuyun sliced off some meat, sprinkled some seasoning, and handed it to Kui Sen.

Once Kui Sen took a bite, he couldn’t help praising Ye Liuyun.

"This is the best roast I’ve ever had! This flavour, I could eat an entire bear!" With that said, he started to gobble up the barbecued meat.

"I have quite a lot of meat here, all for you. Can you let me try some, too?"

Lin Xiyao’s voice suddenly sounded.

"Of course!" said Ye Liuyun, placing the bear meat that Lin Xiyao handed over to the side, and sliced a piece for her too.

After Lin Xiyao tasted it, she highly praised it too, "Indeed, the doneness is just right. The flavour of the seasoning, yum. You must have added some special herbs in it."

"You’re right!" Ye Liuyun smiled.

"You must be skilled at alchemy, right? I figured if you were so good at barbequing, you’d be good at making Elixirs!" Lin Xiyao speculated.

"How could alchemy be compared to roasting meat?" Shangguan Minghe, who was not far away, couldn’t resist cutting in, "If that’s true, wouldn’t all cooks become professional alchemists? Then us alchemists will be worthless!"
