The spoils of the mission didn’t need to be handed over. He Lianxiu divided the loot among everyone.

However, some soldiers were puzzled about how the two martial practitioners had died without making a sound.

Two days later, all the squads Ye Liuyun had sent out returned. They were resting outside the mountains and roasting meat.
Meanwhile, five hundred Metal Guards from the garrison started moving towards the mountains to search for Meng Changxing and his group.
When they saw Ye Liuyun’s troops, they were puzzled and approached them to inquire.
"Get your commander out here to see me!" shouted the leader of the Metal Guards at Ye Liuyun’s soldiers.
"Haha! Who are you to demand our commander?" Ye Liuyun’s soldiers mocked.
"I’m the deputy captain of the local garrison’s Metal Guards!" the man boasted, his voice dripping with arrogance.
"Deputy captain? Haha, I’m the captain, then!" the soldiers ridiculed him again.
Ye Liuyun had been alerted the moment the Metal Guards left the garrison.
His soldiers were poised for battle. They appeared relaxed to deceive the five hundred guards, ensuring none could escape and leak information.
The deputy captain of the Metal Guard seethed after being mocked by the soldiers.
The Metal Guard was renowned for their strict discipline. No one dared to jest with them.
"Go to hell!" He exclaimed as he drew his sword and slashed at the soldier who laughed the loudest.

An arrow flew swiftly.
"Thud!" It pierced the deputy captain’s throat and left a bloody wound.
The other soldiers quickly sobered and had their weapons ready while encircling the Metal Guard.
"Captain! How dare you kill our deputy captain!" one of the men shouted.
"Whoosh!"
Another arrow silenced him with a throat-piercing shot.
This scene rattled the remaining Metal Guard.
The soldiers realized they were surrounded now, with archers positioned around them. Engaging would put them at a disadvantage.
The squad leader hurriedly explained, "It’s a misunderstanding! We were passing through and noticed you in our defense zone, so we approached to inquire, that’s all!"

However, it was Ye Liuyun’s ruthless command that met their response.
The soldiers of the Dark Legion moved in swiftly. Their shields formed a tight formation that restricted their movement.
