The attendant answered respectfully and walked away to prepare.
"How generous of you!" Ye Liuyun complimented him heartily.
Taking advantage of the moment, Xuan Yuanling shifted the topic and asked Ye Liuyun, "The lady just now, the bachelorette who was about to start a marriage contest, He Lianxiu, what do you think? Pretty, isn’t she? Do you want to participate? What if you could win?"
Seeing the gleeful look on Xuan Yuanling’s face, Ye Liuyun couldn’t help but tease her. He pretended to ponder and said, "Well, she is not terrible!"
Xuan Yualing had originally planned to make Ye Liuyun feel better by shifting the topic, but when she saw that he was giving it some serious thought, she hesitated.

They were soon served wine and food, and they chatted as they ate.

"If you like it, I’ll invite you again next time!" Xuan Yuanling casually replied.
"Oh? Do not forget that you promised me this!" Ye Liuyun immediately followed up. He refused to pass up any opportunity to gain an advantage.
Xuan Yuanling laughed and said again, "Can you tell me how you killed the Eight Iron Masters now?"
Ye Liuyun did not hide anything longer and simply explained the occurrences. However, he did not mention his clone ability, nor the affair with Hua Xiangyuan.
Ye Liuyun nonchalantly inquired, "What about Xuan Yuanyu? Has he been behaving himself lately?"
"How could he not? He spends most of his time in the Fragrant Pavilion! Most of his clients met him there to talk about business with him. His business is going great though!" Xuan Yuanling gave an offhand response.
Then she asked Ye Liuyun, "Seriously, about Hua Xiangyuan. Did you truly not hide her?"
Ye Liuyun’s mind was preoccupied with the matter with Xuan Yuanyu and looked confused when she brought it up. He simply retorted, "Why would I hide her? Is she worth as much as an Alora crystal?"
Seeing Ye Liuyun’s genuine confusion, Xuan Yuanling believed him and topped up his wine.
"Alright! I’ll believe you!" Xuan Yuanling said.
"Say, why do you keep asking about Hua Xiangyuan? Do you need her for something?" Ye Liuyun asked, curious about her constant concern for Hua Xiangyuan.
Ye Liuyun wondered if she was planning to use Hua Xiangyuan against Xuan Yuanyu.
Xuan Yuanling blushed as she explained hurriedly, "It’s nothing, I’m just curious about what she look like."
"Hmm? Why did you blush out of the blue?" Ye Liuyun found it strange to see her shy demeanour...
Suddenly, Ye Liuyun appeared as if he realised something, and asked cautiously, "Are you into women?"
"Pfft!"
Xuan Yuanling spewed out the wine she just sipped out of embarrassment earlier.
Fortunately, Ye Liuyun ducked fast, or else he would have wine all over him now.
"You are mad! You are the one who likes women!" Xuan Yuanling retorted.
"Yes! It’s perfectly normal for me to like a woman!" Ye Liuyun replied casually.
He thought he guessed wrongly. Judging from Xuan Yuanling’s reaction, she didn’t seem to like women.
"You..." Xuan Yuanling was at a loss for words.
"One day, I’m going to die from frustration with you!" Xuan Yuanling glared mercilessly at Ye Liuyun.
"Oh come on, don’t be mad. Enjoy our food and don’t waste it." Ye Liuyun promptly scooped some dishes for Xuan Yuanling.
Xuan Yuanling rolled her eyes at him before she continued to eat.
Ye Liuyun was afraid to say anything reckless again. He bowed his head immediately and began to eat rapidly.
After a while, Xuan Yuanling looked at Ye Liuyun and suddenly laughed, "Look at you, you look like you have been starving for years!"
Ye Liuyun laughed with her and said, "That’s right! Ever since I left the Regalty, I haven’t eaten anything at all!"
"Then you should eat more. If it’s not enough I’ll get you more!" Xuan Yuanling replied almost instantly.
"Oh no, this is more than enough!" Ye Liuyun quickly waved his hand, "We both can’t finish this!"
Xuan Yuanling nodded and suddenly inquired about Xiao Yunfang, "How did you and Xiao Yunfang get together when you went to the border battlefield?"
"What do you mean by ’get together’?" Ye Liuyun shot back at her curiously.
Then he stared at her with a rather dumbstruck expression.
"What are you staring at me for?" Xuan Yuanling asked curiously.
"You can’t really be interested in women, can you? You’re asking about Xiao Yunfang again! She’s still in the Regalty, if you want, I can introduce her to you..."
Before Ye Liuyun could finish, Xuan Yuanling was already about to explode.
"Ye Liuyun! If you speak nonsense again, I’ll rip your mouth!" Xuan Yuanling roared at him.
Ye Liuyun lowered his head to avoid her glare and shoved down the food.
"Why aren’t you speaking?!" Xuan Yuanling asked when she saw him avoiding her and not apologising.
"What? You told me not to speak!" Ye Liuyun said with his mouth filled with food as he looked at Xuan Yuanling.
"You..." Xuan Yuanling was initially in rage, but when she saw Ye Liuyun’s comical behaviour, she burst into laughter.
Ye Liuyun’s panic was replaced with astonishment
"Alright, you eat, I won’t ask you anything anymore. I don’t want you to misunderstand me again!” Xuan Yuanling could almost confirm now that Ye Liuyun was not at all interested in Hua Xiangyuan.
Seeing Xuan Yuanling had calmed down, Ye Liuyun got relaxed and jokingly asked, "Oh, so, I can talk now?"
"Hahaha!" Xuan Yuanling couldn’t help but burst into another laughter.
They conversed amicably and got to know each other better for the remainder of their meal.
As they were about to leave, Xuan Yuanling said to Ye Liuyun, "You promised me a meal. Don’t you forget that!"
Leaf Liuyun nodded and agreed, "That’s not difficult! I will sneak you out when I’m back to pick up the stuff half a month later. But you also promised to buy me another meal here!”
"No problem!" Xuan Yuanling agreed cheerfully.
"Alright, may you please pay the bill now!" Ye Liuyun made a gesture to let her proceed with the bill.
It was time for him to focus on Xuan Yuanyu now that he had had enough to eat and drink. Fragrant Pavilion should be crowded at this hour, and the timing was perfect.
"You can address me casually when no one is around. Calling me by full name sounds too formal!” Xuan Yuanling, boldly offered Ye Liuyun, feeling more confident that her blush would not show after some wine.
Ye Liuyun was oblivious to her intention, he simply thought that it would facilitate their friendship and future business discussions.
