Chapter 1759: Chapter 1759 Petty Person

Ye Liuyun returned to the cultivation chamber to continue his practice.

Meanwhile, Lan Xin wandered outside, gathering information for Ye Liuyun.

She declined offers from people asking her to serve as a guide, as she had Ye Liuyun as her major client.

Besides, she didn’t have the mindset for it, wanting to assist Ye Liuyun with the money she had received from him, even if just by gathering useful information.

Some guides envied her for earning promotions and staying at Ye Liuyun’s place. Rumors spread, suggesting she used her beauty to earn profits and tried to steal some of their old customers

Coincidentally, one of her clients came to her for guidance today. He wanted to buy some items, but she graciously turned him down.

Liu Congfeng was also an admirer of Lan Xin, and wanted to win her over, even contemplating buying her freedom for her.

However, he hadn’t managed to save up enough Alora Crystals. Despite being from a wealthy background, he only received a modest allowance from his family each month.

The rest, he would have to earn himself. Today, he had finally collected five million Alora Crystal and was planning to confess his feelings to Lan Xin. However, seeing her in a foul mood, he decided to wait for another opportunity.

Upon Lan Xin’s departure, other guides started stirring up trouble, slandering Lan Xin extensively. They even disclosed that Lan Xin had been living with Ye Liuyun for quite a few days.

Upon hearing this, Liu Congfeng was upset. After asking for Ye Liuyun’s residence, he stormed off to find Lan Xin.

At this moment, Lan Xin was relaying the news she had heard to Ye Liuyun.

"Every major force in the city has reinforced its defenses. Some have even hired triple layers of martial practitioners to assist in defense."

Just then, a banging on the door interrupted them.

Both Ye Liuyun and Lan Xin were puzzled, exchanging views with each other. As neither of them knew what was going on, Ye Liuyun motioned for Lan Xin to open the door.

Simultaneously, his clone, cloaked in Concealcape, prepared to assist in battle, along with the Devil Vine.

Concerned about their cover being blown, Ye Liuyun feared it might be officials from the city lord’s residence.

However, to his surprise, it was Liu Congfeng, whom Lan Xin recognized.

"Liu Congfeng? Why are you here?" Lan Xin asked, puzzled.

Seeing Ye Liuyun, Liu Congfeng was so angry he could burst.

"How dare you question me, you degrading woman?"

Liu Congfeng became furious and slapped Lan Xin.

Lan Xin was dumbfound by his slap, covering her face she was somewhat dazed.

Liu Congfeng continued to roar hysterically: "I was saving up money to buy your freedom with good intentions, yet you choose to degrade yourself, willing to be someone else’s toy. How could you do this to me?"

"If I had known you were this kind of woman, I wouldn’t have been so polite. I should have asserted myself long before"

At this time, the guards from the trading center also rushed over and pulled Liu Congfeng away.

Previously, Lan Xin did indeed have a good impression of Liu Congfeng, but it was nowhere near considering a relationship with him. She always felt that this man was lacking ambition, not enough grandeur.

Furthermore, Liu Congfeng was no significant client of Lan Xin, he didn’t frequently make large transactions.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" At this point, Lan Xin finally recuperated.

She was frightened earlier by the sudden slap and rant.

"Watch your mouth. Who I serve is none of your business. Do I need to answer to you? What’s your relationship with me? You’re gonna redeem me? Did I ever ask you? Stop making yourself sound noble!"

Afterward, Lan Xin called the guards of the trading center and had Liu Congfeng seized.

"You skittish, shameless woman!" Even when captured, Liu Congfeng kept hurling insults at Lan Xin, showing no signs of stopping.

Upon understanding the situation, a guard asked Ye Liuyun for instructions.

"What if I ordered you to kill him? Could you do it?" Ye Liuyun asked.

"We cannot, esteemed guest. His offense does not warrant death," the guard replied, surprised by Ye Liuyun’s request.

"You want to kill me? Do you know my background in Golden Gate? How dare you lay a finger on me!" Liu Congfeng burst out laughing.

"He insulted my woman. Isn’t that enough reason for his death?" Ye Liuyun ignored Liu Congfeng, addressing the guard instead.

Hearing Ye Liuyun refer to her as his woman, Lan Xin was taken aback, though she didn’t refute it, unsure of his intentions.

"We cannot decide on this," the guard awkwardly replied. While unfamiliar with Liu Congfeng, he was a well-known figure locally.

If they kill Liu Congfeng, his family will not spare them.

"If you don’t have the authority, then take your men and scram. Stop dilly-dallying here!" Ye Liuyun snapped.

"Yes, yes!" The guard leader quickly agreed, signaling his men to take Liu Congfeng away.

But Liu Congfeng, upon hearing Ye Liuyun call Lan Xin his woman and her lack of denial, took it as a confirmation. "Cheap woman, just you wait. I will make you wish you were dead. You will spend your final moments moaning underneath countless men..."

"Bang!"

Lan Xin could no longer listen, she promptly shut the door.

Ye Liuyun let out a sigh and shook his head, "I declared you as my woman just to gauge his reaction, to see how he would act against you! I didn’t expect him to be so malicious!"

"He was never a noble person to begin with, otherwise why would things escalated to this point!" Lan Xin also let out a sigh.

"Has that man pursued you before? Weren’t you aware?" Ye Liuyun asked in return.

"With all the guests that walk through those doors, I can hardly discern their true intentions. I’ve never agreed to anything with him, let alone ask him to redeem me!"

For some reason, Lan Xin felt the need to explain herself to Ye Liuyun, to avoid any misunderstandings.

Ye Liuyun nodded, appearing to trust Lan Xin. He merely remarked, "In the future, you may encounter more trouble. A petty man like him may hold a grudge against you."

"It’s fine. This is just the fate of a woman like me!" Lan Xin responded, her eyes welling up with tears.

Without another word, Ye Liuyun advised Lan Xin to rest before retreating to his cultivation chamber to resume his cultivation.

Watching Ye Liuyun leave, Lan Xin succumbed to her grievances and wept on the bed.

She had been struck before. What Liu Congfeng might do to her later, she did not allow herself to contemplate. What good would it do? She simply couldn’t resist.

All she felt was that life was cruel and filled with injustice. At times, she thought it would be easier if she were dead.

Ye Liuyun, with his Golden Phantom Eyes, observed it all through the wall of the training room.

He shook his head helplessly and murmured, "This is how the world is," as if to console Lan Xin.
