Chapter 469: Chapter 118: Emperor’s Clone! Dimensional Strike

Screams of agony echoed wherever the Arrow Rain swept past. The panicking Divine Chosen Soldiers fell in droves like wheat reaped by a scythe, completely unable to fight back.

At the same time, the heavy iron gates of the border fortress blew outward with a thunderous BOOM. Splinters of wood, still warm from the residual energy of the Holy Flame Runes, flew in every direction.

On the walls, the Battle Banners bearing the Holy Empire’s Sacred Emblem whipped violently in the wind. The Holy Empire’s regular legions, who had lain in wait for so long, surged out like tigers ready to pounce.

The heavy Holy Shield Legion led the charge. The Divine Chosen Soldiers, clad in Plate Armor inlaid with Holy Crystals, slammed their man-high Holy Flame Shields together, creating a deafening roar. They instantly formed three indestructible shield walls at the edge of the battlefield, trapping the Global Alliance Army and cutting off their retreat to the Plane Gate.

From the gaps between the shields, Extraordinary Spear Soldiers thrust their spears forward in perfect unison. The spear tips, glowing with Holy Light, precisely pierced the gaps in the Alliance soldiers’ armor, and each withdrawal was accompanied by a spray of hot blood.

The Earth Dragon Cavalry Corps followed close behind, their Swift Battle Dragons cloaked in Scale Armor emerging from the dust.

The Earth Dragon Knights leaned low on their mounts’ backs, their Enchanted Long Blades tracing deadly arcs under the sun. They weaved through the crumbling enemy formations like bolts of silver lightning.

They didn’t engage individual foes. Instead, they focused on precisely slicing through the Global Alliance Army’s scattered units, tearing the already chaotic formation to shreds and leaving the soldiers to fend for themselves like scattered sand.

The roars of the battle dragons made the enemy soldiers’ ears ache. Every stomp of their claws crushed several soldiers, breaking their bones and tearing their sinews. Combined with the Knights’ flashing blades, they formed a deadly front line that reaped life after life.

At the rear, the Extraordinary Mage Corps raised a waist-high Elemental Barrier. The Elite Mages held Gemstone-inlaid Magic Staffs and chanted ancient Spells. A barrage of scorching Holy Flame Fireballs, trailing golden tails, slammed into the enemy ranks, their explosive shockwaves sending entire groups of soldiers flying.

Ice Mages conjured sharp icicles that erupted from the ground, impaling enemies who tried to slip through the gaps and escape.

Furthermore, the Priest Corps established a Holy Domain in the rear. It not only granted their allies auras of Damage Amplification and Defense Enhancement but also precisely purged the few remaining Magic Buffs on the Alliance forces.

In this way, the suppressive Arrow Rain from the Holy Empire Envoy was like an inescapable net, completely shutting down any attempt by the Global Alliance Army to mount a counteroffensive.

The Holy Empire legions’ encirclement and slaughter advanced with the precision of clockwork, pressing forward relentlessly, layer by layer.

The shield walls compressed their lines, the Cavalry sliced them apart, and the Mages bombarded them from afar. The three fronts worked in perfect concert, extinguishing even the slightest chance of escape for the desperate Global Alliance Army.

The foreign players, who just moments before had been boasting that ’victory lies in numbers’, could now only wail helplessly amidst the rain of arrows and the flash of blades. They watched as their troops and heroes fell in droves, ultimately swallowed by the Holy Empire’s tide of steel.

More terrifying still, the Void at the very center of the battlefield rippled without warning. Golden Holy Power runes flickered as densely as sparks before tearing open several ten-foot-wide Teleportation Gates. The energy surging from within was not Dark Purple Magic Power, but the unique signature of the Holy Empire. The Sky Fleet, which should have been thousands of miles away guarding other defensive lines, had arrived in this inconceivable manner.

A Divine Gift Ancient Giant Dragon was the first to burst through the gate. Its body, with a wingspan of several hundred meters, blotted out the sky. Its Dark Gold Scale Armor shimmered in the firelight of battle with a luster honed over a millennium. The edge of each scale was inlaid with fine Holy Crystals, scattering specks of golden light with every beat of its Dragon Wings.

The Ancient Giant Dragon lowered its head, its golden, slitted pupils scanning the routed Alliance forces below. It opened its maw and unleashed a concentrated blast of Holy Flame Dragon Breath that poured down like a torrent of lava, melting an entire Heavy Armor Corps—men and shields alike—into a twisted mass of molten iron as they tried to form a defensive line.

A Nordic Giant under the command of a Viking Domain player roared and hurled a Siege Hammer, only for the dragon to shatter it with a single swipe of its claw. The sheer force of the blow sent more than a dozen nearby Divine Chosen Soldiers flying, leaving them as nothing more than mangled heaps of broken bones when they landed.

Following the Divine Gift Ancient Giant Dragon came the Divine Gift Royal Dragon Cavalry. They rode Swift Winged Dragon Beasts outfitted with Holy Flame barding. Their eighteen-foot Knight’s Long Spears glowed with a silvery-white Holy Light, their tips inscribed with a Break Magic rune.

They didn’t dive immediately. Instead, they formed a circular array thirty meters above the ground. At a command from their leader, all the battle dragons beat their wings and descended in unison. The Knights sat bolt upright, their long spears angled toward the ground.

In an instant, the sharp spear tips precisely pierced the armor of the fleeing soldiers. Some lances skewered two enemy soldiers at once, and the burst of holy radiance from the butt of the spear would shatter the internal organs of nearby enemies.

When they encountered a Global Alliance Army squad leader who tried to block with a shield, a Royal Dragon Rider would have their battle dragon stomp down. The dragon’s claw would shatter the shield, allowing the Knight’s long spear to smoothly plunge into the man’s throat. The entire sequence was executed with fluid, clean precision.

Seeing how dire the situation was, a foreign Lord Player used an Earth Defense Barrier scroll to try and defend himself. However, he was targeted by a Divine Chosen Soldier who had been promoted to Winged Dragon Commander-in-Chief. Riding a Winged Dragon Beast enhanced by Wing Connection, the commander dove down. His long spear shattered the barrier, and a single sweep of his dragon’s tail turned the Lord Player’s personal guards into a bloody pulp.

Seeing this, the Lord Player was about to activate a life-saving Magic Scroll when a Heavy Armor Cavalry galloped past. The cavalryman’s spear pierced his Magic Shield like a bolt of lightning, the tip carrying Holy Power straight through his heart. The look of panic on the Lord Player’s face had yet to fade as his body was dragged and flung into the air by the warhorse, landing heavily amidst the routing Global Alliance Army and shattering their last sliver of will to resist.

The aerial forces that had descended from the sky then coordinated perfectly with the ground legions. The Ancient Giant Dragon’s Dragon Breath obliterated enemy concentrations, the Dragon Riders’ long spears harvested the fleeing soldiers, the ground-based Holy Shield Array pushed forward to compress their space, and the Magic Masters’ Fireballs picked off any who managed to slip through.

The Global Alliance Army, already cornered by the terrifying Arrow Rain and the encirclement of Holy Empire soldiers with off-the-charts Life Values, completely collapsed in the face of this sudden "divine punishment." No one dared to fight back. All they could do was flee futilely from the Holy Flames and spear tips, ultimately becoming sacrifices in this two-pronged slaughter.

"We can’t fight!!!"

"There’s no way to fight!!!"

Desperate roars erupted on the chaotic battlefield. One of the foreign players from the Global Alliance Army, his eyes bloodshot, howled like a madman, his voice filled with the terror of a man on the verge of breaking:

"The Ancient Giant Dragons aren’t the problem! The Dragon Cavalry and the Mages aren’t the problem! The biggest problem is this damn Arrow Rain that came out of nowhere!!!"

He pointed violently at the cold light still raining down from the sky, his voice cracking with tears as he screamed:

"DAMN IT ALL!!!"

"My Extraordinary Heavy Armor Soldiers, clad in Enchanted Plate Armor, can tank a direct hit from an Ancient Giant Dragon’s Dragon Breath for several seconds!"

"But a single one of those arrows just has to graze them! My heavy armor soldiers are pierced through instantly, before they can even scream! The Holy Power burns their organs through the wound, leaving no chance for healing!"

Another foreign player from the Global Alliance Army standing nearby grit his teeth so hard they bled, his hoarse voice filled with incredulous horror.

"According to our intel!"

"This has to be fucking Tingfeng’s Divine Gift: Split Arrow ability!"

"Did Tingfeng come to this battlefield himself? But our Flying Reconnaissance units scanned the entire area three times! We didn’t find his name anywhere! We only picked up some guy called ’Holy Empire Envoy’!"

He had barely finished speaking when another mixed volley of magic and arrows rained down, causing the Magic Rainproof Shield protecting them to ripple violently.

Amidst the flying debris, the first Lord Player suddenly froze, his pupils constricting.

’Wait... Don’t tell me that ’Holy Empire Envoy’ guy can use the exact same skill as Tingfeng’s Divine Gift: Split Arrow?’

The mere thought sent a chill down his spine. The Lord Player beside him stared with eyes as wide as saucers, gasping in shock:

"Huh?"

"You mean a Divine Gift hero?"

"Tingfeng was hiding a Divine Gift hero this terrifying? And he didn’t use them in the last Plane War?"

"What about the other fronts, then?"

"Are they being held up by the same kind of Divine Gift hero, too?"
