Chapter 120: Sleep

When class ended, most students packed up and left the classroom.

Ethan wanted to wake Andrew up, but seeing Scarlett staring at him from the podium, he immediately changed his mind and left the classroom with the rest of the class.

After everyone left, Scarlett packed her things and sat down next to Andrew.

Presumably because the surroundings had become completely silent, this sudden change in environment caused Andrew to slowly open his eyes and wake up.

"What happened? How come everyone’s gone?" Andrew’s brain was still booting up when he suddenly realized there was something on his body, so he reached out and took it off.

"Hmm? This outfit looks familiar..." Andrew examined the clothes; they still had a familiar scent.

Just then, Andrew caught a glimpse of Scarlett sitting next to him out of the corner of his eye.

"!!!" Scarlett’s eyes widened as she stared intently at Andrew. Although she didn’t say anything, Andrew could feel the immense anger emanating from her, and his dazed brain instantly started working again in fright.

"Have you slept enough?" Scarlett asked coldly.

"I’ve slept enough." Andrew nodded repeatedly, his voice stammering. His feelings at this moment were not much different from when he first arrived in Blackthorn and faced Scarlett with fear.

The last time Andrew felt such anger was several years ago, when his mother got angry after his homeroom Scar called his parents in.

"I’ve had enough sleep, so I’m going back."

After Scarlett finished speaking, she glared at Andrew again before standing up.

After a moment of hesitation, Andrew quickly handed his coat to Scarlett: "T-Scar, your coat."

"I won’t wear it."

Scarlett wasn’t cold at all; she was so angry she was practically burning up.

Andrew had no choice but to grab Scarlett’s coat and follow her.

Scarlett didn’t say a word the whole way. Andrew wanted to say something, but seeing her extremely indifferent expression, he gave up.

After entering the house, the two sat facing each other at the table. Andrew had his head down, like a child who had made a mistake.

Scarlett stared at her without saying a word, and she was so angry that she didn’t know what to say.

To be honest, she really wanted to grab a ruler and spank Andrew’s bottom to teach him a lesson.

"I’m...I’m sorry, Scar, I shouldn’t have fallen asleep in your class."

Andrew slowly began to apologize.

"Does an apology do any good? Don’t you know it’s very cold right now?" Scarlett questioned Andrew in an icy tone.

"I know."

"I know you’re still sleeping! What if you catch a cold? It’s one thing for me to take care of you, but what if you’re feeling unwell and uncomfortable? Can I take your cold and fever off you?"

"..." Andrew kept his head down and remained silent; any further explanation would only make Scarlett angrier.

After scolding her a few times, Scarlett asked again, "What time did you go to sleep last night?"

"Um..."

"What? Don’t you even know what time you go to sleep?" Scarlett’s voice rose considerably as she questioned.

Andrew swallowed hard and slowly revealed the truth: "I... I didn’t sleep last night."

"You didn’t sleep?! You actually stayed up all night!"

Scarlett was so angry that she was panting heavily and could barely speak. She clutched her chest to calm herself down.

Seeing this, Andrew quickly poured Scarlett a glass of warm water, then returned to his chair, ready to continue being scolded.

He had just sat down when Scarlett suddenly grabbed his right hand, "What’s with these red spots on your index finger?"

"This... was from a needle prick, it’s nothing."

"You pricked your finger with a needle? Why would you prick your finger with a needle?"

Scarlett’s anger hadn’t subsided, but she had gained a lot more doubts.

Andrew knew there was no point in hiding it anymore, and the surprise of giving a gift ultimately failed to materialize.

He opened his backpack, took out the off-white scarf, and handed it to Scarlett, "I accidentally pricked myself while knitting this scarf. Please calm down, Scar. Getting angry is bad for your health."

"Knit...knit a scarf?"

Scarlett was stunned, "So you stayed up all night last night... also knitting a scarf?"

Andrew nodded, "Because the weather suddenly turned cold, I was going to finish knitting it right away so your neck wouldn’t get cold."

"You can just buy a scarf; there’s no need to knit it by hand."

"I bought this without any thought of it; this is the first time I’ve ever given you a gift, Scar."

Andrew’s words plunged the room into silence, and Scarlett herself didn’t know how she felt at that moment.

She moved her right hand slightly, feeling the comfortable touch of the scarf in her palm.

Yeah, gifts don’t necessarily have to be bought. Why is it that when I think about things, all I think about is buying them?

She never imagined that Andrew would make her slippers and scarves by hand when she was a child.

A carefully crafted gift is more meaningful.

Scarlett held the scarf in her hand, her vision blurring as she looked at the Pikachu embroidered on the tail.

"I’m sorry, I misunderstood you."

Scarlett tried her best to control her emotions and spoke in a calm tone, but a sob still escaped her lips.

"Scar, please don’t cry."

Andrew panicked and quickly grabbed some tissues to wipe Scarlett’s tears.

But the other person turned away, saying, "I...I didn’t cry."

"But...."

"I didn’t cry, no need to wipe it."

Scarlett tried desperately to stop her tears. She didn’t know how long it had been since she had last cried. She had always been so strong, how could she cry?

But... but today, she just couldn’t stop her tears.

Besides her own mother, Andrew was the first person in the world to knit a scarf for her.

She reached out and grasped Andrew’s index finger, gently stroking it, "Silly boy... you’ve got so many needle marks and you don’t even feel pain."

After hearing this, Andrew laughed and explained, "I’m a little clumsy."

His simple, honest smile made Scarlett laugh too, and a tear rolled down her cheek.

Scarlett reached out and stroked Andrew’s cheek, "No more staying up all night, and you can’t do anything like that anymore."

"Okay, I understand."

Andrew nodded, but couldn’t help wiping away the glistening tears on Scarlett’s cheeks.

"I didn’t cry, so I don’t need you to wipe it."

Scarlett pouted slightly in protest, but her body did not object.

As Andrew wiped away Scarlett’s tears, he said with a smile, "But Scar, your tears are falling."

"You’re mistaken."

Scarlett spoke softly with a smile on her face.

The next moment, she leaned forward and kissed Andrew on the forehead.

"Thank you for the gift, I really like it."

In the evening, after taking a shower, the two sat together in the study and played.

Andrew slept for so long this afternoon, so he’s not very sleepy now.

Scarlett tried the scarf around her neck and was delighted.

"I never expected you to be so skillful, little one. Not only can you cook delicious food, but you can also knit scarves. You can do more than most girls."

"Hey, didn’t you call me an idiot when you came back tonight, Scar?"

After hearing this, Scarlett raised her fist and hit Andrew on the head, "Little brat, you dare to talk back to me? And I called you an idiot because you didn’t even realize your finger was pricked."

"Hehe, I originally thought of embroidering a Psyduck on the scarf, but Psyduck’s beak is more troublesome, so I changed it to Pikachu instead."

"It’s okay, I like them all." Scarlett took the scarf off her neck and put it away.

"By the way, sister, do you prefer Psyduck or Pikachu?"

Andrew discovered that Scarlett especially loved watching Pokémon, particularly Pikachu and Psyduck.

"Psyduck, because it looks silly, just like you, little guy."

"You can’t just say that, I’m not stupid," Andrew said, trying to clear his name.

Scarlett laughed and retorted, "She stayed up all night to knit me a scarf and even pricked her finger. Isn’t that stupid?"

"This is my love for you, sister."

"Yeah, I’m really stupid. What they say online is true. People really do become stupid after falling in love."

"Then, sister, haven’t you become stupid too?" Andrew asked with a grin.

Scarlett tilted her head back and snorted, "I’m not you, I haven’t become stupid."

After saying that, Scarlett stood up and said, "I’m going to bed. It’s very late."

"Oh."

Andrew stood up and left the study with Scarlett, heading towards their bedroom.

But he saw Scarlett standing in her bedroom doorway, saying to him, "Come here, sleep with me tonight."

"What!!!"

"I want you to sleep with me so I can stop you from secretly staying up all night again," Scarlett said matter-of-factly.

Whether this was truly the reason Andrew slept with him, no one knows.

"Good!!!"

Andrew didn’t care about anything else and happily followed Scarlett into the bedroom and got into bed.

However, sleeping together was not quite what he had imagined, so Scarlett still set some rules.

"You sleep on the left, I’ll sleep on the right, don’t cross the line! If you dare to do anything naughty, I can’t control how hard I hit you."

Andrew listened and nodded repeatedly. He had no doubt about the second half of Scarlett’s statement; his forehead was still hurting.

And he didn’t complain at all.

Now that they’ve agreed to share a bed, it won’t be long before he sleeps with Professor Scarlett in his arms.

When they got into bed, Andrew noticed that Scarlett was still wearing socks and couldn’t help but ask, "Scar, why are you sleeping in socks?"

"It’s getting cold, and my feet are cold."

"Huh? The heating hasn’t been turned off since yesterday, and it’s still cold?"

"I’m afraid of the cold, is that not allowed?" Scarlett said with dissatisfaction.

"No, no, I was just asking." Andrew said it was nothing, but he still sighed inwardly.

Scarlett was wearing pajamas tonight, only showing her neck, and she’s sleeping in socks now, not even letting him see her toes.

It’s not as good as in the summer. Back then, Professor Scarlett didn’t wear socks when she went out.

However, Scarlett could not possibly be unaware of his little scheme.

So he pretended not to know and decided to tease Andrew.

"What’s wrong? You seem a little unhappy."

"nothing."

"Really nothing? If you feel wronged sleeping with me, then go back to your own room. Anyway, if you stay up all night again, I’ll tie you to the bed and see if you dare to stay up all night again."

Goodness, they even tied themselves to the bed.

After a silent sigh, Andrew shook his head repeatedly, saying, "No, no, I’m not wronged."

"Then why do you look so unhappy?"

"I...I’m not unhappy anymore, I’m just a little tired and want to sleep."

Scarlett couldn’t help but smile slightly at Andrew’s stubbornness.

The last time he wanted to sleep with me, he shamelessly tried to climb into my bed, but this time he won’t admit it at all.

Could it be that I was too fierce in the evening and scared him?
