Chapter 653: Chapter 652: Xu Yi’s Transformation

Back then, if humanity faced an incredibly terrifying invasion from a civilization, how should they protect themselves?

With the technological level of the Spirit Race, it would be different.

Before encountering the Divine Race, the Spirit Race could easily handle many technological civilizations, and even Divine Cultivation Civilizations, with technology alone.

The Spirit Race’s current plight can only be attributed to the Divine Race being too powerful.

To humans, the Jialan Civilization is incredibly powerful, but on the Spirit Race’s home planet, they possess enough power to destroy the Jialan Civilization. The Spirit Race currently on Planet 1 are merely a small group that escaped from the home planet in a hurry, not truly representative of the Spirit Race’s technological prowess.

After a day’s flight, Xu Yi’s spacecraft entered the territory of the Level 6 Fierce Beasts.

Who knows if Lu Ke has reached Level 6 now, or is still lingering at the peak of Level 5?

Since it was late at night, Lu Ke didn’t notice Xu Yi in the sky.

It wasn’t until Xu Yi contacted Lu Ke using the Star Chart that she realized Xu Yi was already above her.

Given the dense vegetation where Lu Ke was, it wasn’t very suitable for the spacecraft to land.

So, Xu Yi contacted Lu Ke via the Star Chart and asked her to clear some of the nearby plants.

Once Lu Ke had cleared a space, Xu Yi landed the spacecraft on the open ground.

"Xu Yi, what kind of flying machine is this? It looks so cool, even cooler than a mount," Lu Ke asked curiously after Xu Yi got down, looking eager to try it herself.

"Spacecraft, a small aircraft of the Spirit Race, much faster than lightning. What do you think, want to take a ride?" Xu Yi tapped the transparent shell of the spacecraft.

"Mhm, is it easy to operate?" Lu Ke nodded vigorously; she’s always loved new things like this.

"Foolproof operation, even simpler than riding an electric bike. But don’t you worry about Baiyu getting upset?" Xu Yi said, glancing at Baiyu who was sitting to the side, looking helpless.

Then, Xu Yi handed it a piece of Level 8 Fierce Beast Meat, which cheered it up.

"Hehe, I still love Baiyu very much. Baiyu, be good," Lu Ke said as she walked over, petted Baiyu’s neck, and gave it a scratch.

Since it was late at night, there wasn’t much to see, even if they flew around.

So, Lu Ke decided to wait until dawn to try it out.

"Why don’t you need a tent?" Xu Yi glanced at Lu Ke.

"It’s just that I feel like I don’t need to sleep, so there’s no need. Besides, using a tent alone feels a bit too lonely," Lu Ke said, sticking out her tongue.

"That’s true." Xu Yi nodded in agreement.

"Moreover, it feels more like training this way, which is better for my state of mind," Lu Ke continued.

Hearing what Lu Ke said, Xu Yi couldn’t help but be surprised.

"It seems you’ve gained quite a lot these past few days," Xu Yi looked at Lu Ke, who was now a Level 6 Mage.

Compared to Lu Ke, he found himself liking comfort and leisure more and more.

Xu Yi summoned his Spiritual Power, and the Devouring Spirit flew out from his Storage Space. Under Xu Yi’s Spiritual Power control, it chopped some firewood.

Then Xu lit a campfire.

"This feels just like when we first arrived on Spirit Blue Star," in the dark forest, with a campfire and the occasional cries of Fierce Beasts, it indeed had a familiar vibe.

Lu Ke hugged her knees, basking in the warmth of the fire.

Xu Yi took out a piece of Level 8 Fierce Beast Meat, skewered it with a sharpened wooden stick, and grilled it over the flames.

Lu Ke rested her head on her knees and, turning her face to the side to look at Xu Yi, couldn’t help but ask, "Xu Yi, do you often think of the time we had at the beginning?"

"Yes, of course," Xu Yi smiled and glanced back at Lu Ke.

Although those times were tough, constantly worrying about what to eat.

However, for Xu Yi, it was indeed a very happy time.

"Same here, sometimes I think if it could always be like that, it would also be very happy," Lu Ke said as Xu Yi’s face suddenly got closer, her heartbeat inadvertently sped up.

In her mind, she recalled the times they slept in one sleeping bag, reminiscing about holding Xu Yi while sleeping.

Her face grew warm.

"Yes, even without the abilities we have now, we could still make our days better and better," Xu Yi said, picking a piece of grass from Lu Ke’s hair.

"Mhm, you’re so amazing, surely. If we didn’t have to change places so often, we might have built our villa by the sea by now," Lu Ke thought back then they might leisurely spend 500 days with Xu Yi, then collect the massive ten billion reward, and start an endless adventure enjoying food and fun around the world.

The outcome, however, was instead of building their seaside villa, they found themselves constantly on the move, constantly training.

Threats kept arriving, challenges emerged without ceasing.

It was entirely different from what they initially imagined.

"Yeah, I was thinking, after 500 days, would we be together?" Xu Yi scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed after saying that.

Was that a confession?
