Chapter 2777: Chapter 2786: At Least We Liked the Same Person
"Just let me take a look, I won’t mess around."
"No way."
"I really just want to take a look, purely look."
"No way."
The argument at the door woke up the person who had just fallen asleep. With a click, the apartment door opened—
"Why are you arguing at the door instead of coming in?"
It was Olivia Lewis’s voice.
She was in her pajamas, holding the door open, looking like she just woke up. One hand was on the handle, the other was rubbing her eyes. It took her a moment to notice that besides Adam Sinclair, there was a stranger at the door.
"Woof woof—" The golden retriever acted cute at her, wagging its tail quickly, looking extremely adorable.
"Sugar, don’t bark, come in with Mummy." Olivia came to her senses and beckoned to the golden retriever with a finger. Instantly, the golden retriever broke free from Adam Sinclair’s leash and bounced to her side, as if it understood human speech, and obediently stopped barking.
Austin Harper watched in awe, couldn’t help but point to the dog frolicking at Olivia’s feet and say, "This dog is called Sugar?"
Awesome!
He instinctively glanced at the man by his side.
A dog called Sugar, seriously, he can tolerate this?!
"Yes, its name is Sugar, it’s three years old." Olivia bent down to stroke the golden retriever’s head, and the little golden retriever acted like a praised child, wagging its tail even more vigorously.
"Woo woo~" It wagged its tail while rubbing against her, looking extremely cute.
"Haha, stop messing around." Olivia got tickled by it on the leg, feeling happy, her eyes curved into a smile, "Did you obediently get your shot today as Daddy said? So good."
"It was very well-behaved today, didn’t cause any trouble, even the boss said it was good." Adam Sinclair happily accepted the title of ’Daddy,’ looking quite pleased to be called that.
"Really? It’s usually a little rascal, barking nonstop as soon as it steps into the pet hospital. Being this obedient today is not like it at all." Olivia looked surprised, appearing doubtful.
Adam Sinclair said, "Really, maybe it’s because you weren’t there. It acts spoiled when you’re around, but behaves when you’re not."
"Could it be that you used to mistreat it, so it doesn’t dare to act cute in front of you now?" Olivia squinted her eyes suspiciously, rubbing the little golden retriever’s head.
Adam Sinclair looked at her helplessly, "How could that be? It’s your dog, I practically worship it."
Olivia expressed disbelief, "I’m already an ex-girlfriend, who knows if an ex-girlfriend’s dog would be thrown into some corner or something."
Austin Harper saw them talking around the dog for ages, feeling like he, a living person standing there, had less presence than a dog.
He couldn’t bear it any longer, put his hand to his mouth, pretended to cough, pulled back their attention, and then cheekily greeted Olivia, "Hello, sister-in-law."
Olivia glanced at Adam Sinclair, signaling him to introduce her.
Adam Sinclair frowned helplessly, gave Austin Harper a warning look, telling him not to mess around, then perfunctorily introduced, "This is my friend, Austin Harper."
Austin Harper hooked an arm around his shoulder, puffed out his chest, and said to Olivia with a grin, "He and I grew up together, we’re ironclad pals who practically shared the same underpants."
Adam Sinclair dismissively pushed his hand away, "We’ve never shared the same underpants."
"Hell, I might not have shared the same underpants with you, but we at least liked the same..." He almost blurted out that they liked the same woman.
