Chapter 374: Chapter 373: I Belong to My Uncle
In the evening, South Grant picked up some makeup remover and took off all the makeup on her face.
Since Langston Caldwell already knew her identity, there was no need to pretend to be a man here.
After removing her makeup, South went to the living room to get something, and at that moment, Langston was hugging a batch of dumplings he had gotten from a dumpling shop and watching soccer.
South had heard of people eating crawfish, fried chicken, and drinking beer while watching soccer, but it was her first time seeing someone watching with dumplings.
Moreover, they were leftover dumplings.
It was clear that Langston truly loved dumplings.
"Do you want me to heat up the dumplings for you?"
Without taking his eyes off the television, Langston protectively said:
"What if you sneak a bite of mine?"
South: "..."
South couldn’t help but roll her eyes before turning to leave.
Langston called out to her at that moment, "Wait a moment."
South stopped in her tracks and turned back around.
That was when Langston looked up.
When Langston saw South after she had removed her makeup, he was stunned.
In that instant, Langston had so many emotions in his eyes.
South couldn’t quite understand it, so she waved a hand in front of him and asked, "Why did you call me?"
Langston snapped out of it, carefully studying South again, "Can you change faces? You look one way in men’s clothes, and another on that amusement park card."
South was a bit embarrassed, "A woman’s makeup skills are one of the three great evil arts of the world. It’s normal for you to think my face looks different. This face is how I look naturally."
Langston gazed at this version of South, dazed and thoughtful.
South looked at him and said, "What kind of look is that? I’m telling you, I’m my uncle’s, so don’t even think about poaching."
Langston: "..."
"You can rest assured, I like gentlewomen," Langston replied.
That’s a relief.
When South returned to her room, she suddenly realized, why wasn’t she considered a gentlewoman?
After South went back to her room, Langston sat on the sofa, the live soccer match continuing on the TV, though his mind was no longer on the screen.
Previously, South had heard from Nathan that there would be strict physical training this month, but he was hesitant to start himself.
This gave South a mistaken impression, making her think that the physical training would be especially grueling.
She imagined it would be even tougher than army boot camp, like waking up at ungodly hours and doing weighted frog jumps, among other rigorous exercises.
South had mentally prepared herself for a tough month, but to her surprise, she slept until noon the next day.
Langston hadn’t woken her up; when she was with Nathan, he would always wake her up on time every day. Now that she was sleeping alone, she unknowingly slept longer.
When she opened her eyes and drew the curtains, the sunlight was blinding, and the leaves in the courtyard drooped, wilting under the sun’s harsh glare.
South cursed to herself, not expecting to have slept until noon.
This place was just so quiet. The villa was an old-fashioned one, located in a relatively secluded area.
The villa was nestled against the mountain and surrounded by water, in an excellent location.
Especially at night, it was incredibly quiet, no wonder her sleep quality was so good.
Now that Langston wasn’t starting the training, South felt like she was on vacation.
After washing up and changing her clothes, she went out and found no one around, so she headed to Langston’s room and knocked on the door.
After quite a while, Langston came out with a head of messy hair.
His eyes still closed, yawning, Langston greeted her, "Morning."
