Chapter 7: Let's Do What Couple's Do
The soft glow of the setting sun filtered through the curtains of their hotel room as Kazuma closed the door behind him, setting down the bag of takeout he had picked up on his way back. He glanced toward the bed, where Masako was sitting with her legs tucked under her, gazing absently at the window. Her chocolate brown skin seemed to glow faintly in the warm light, but her golden eyes were distant, lost in thought.
"Sweetie?" Kazuma called gently, his light blue eyes filled with concern as he approached her. "You've been quiet since we left the convention. Are you okay?"
Masako looked up at him, forcing a small smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm fine, dear," she replied softly, though her voice betrayed her unease. "I just... can't stop thinking about earlier. I froze out there, Kazuma. I've never felt that kind of pressure before."
Kazuma sat down beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pulling her close. "Masako, you did great. It's normal to feel overwhelmed, but you've got nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone loved the presentation, and that's because of your hard work. You've poured your heart into everything we've done."
She sighed, leaning her head against his shoulder. "I know, but it feels like I let you down. You had to carry the whole presentation because I couldn't pull myself together."
Kazuma gently cupped her cheek, turning her face to meet his light blue eyes. "Masako, you didn't let me down. We're a team, remember? When one of us stumbles, the other steps in. That's how we've always been, and that's how we'll keep going. You've carried me through so much, too."
Her golden eyes glistened with emotion, and she wrapped her arms around him tightly. "Thank you, dear," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
Kazuma smiled, kissing her forehead tenderly. "You'll never have to find out."
They sat like that for a while, the comfort of each other's embrace slowly easing Masako's tension. Eventually, Kazuma stood, stretching. "Alright, sweetie. Let's get some sleep. Tomorrow's another big day."
As he moved toward the bed, Masako hesitated. Her golden eyes flicked toward him, her cheeks flushing a deep red. "K-Kazuma..." she called softly, her voice barely audible.
He turned back to her, noticing how she fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, her gaze shyly avoiding his. "What is it, Masako?"
She reached out and gently grabbed his sleeve, her blush deepening. "I... I was wondering if we could... you know..." Her voice trailed off, and she looked up at him with an embarrassed but hopeful expression. "It's been a while, and I... I miss being close to you like that."
Kazuma's face immediately turned red, her words catching him off guard. His heart raced as he realized what she was asking, and he scratched the back of his head nervously. "Y-you mean...?"
Masako nodded, her golden eyes shimmering with both embarrassment and longing. "I know we've been so busy lately, with the company and everything, but I just... I want to be with you, dear."
Kazuma swallowed hard, his own cheeks burning now. But the sight of her adorably shy expression, her vulnerability and honesty, made his heart melt. He stepped closer, gently taking her hands in his. "Masako... of course," he said softly, his light blue eyes meeting hers. "I'd love to."
Her smile widened, and she leaned into him as he pulled her into a warm embrace. The tension of the day melted away as their lips met in a tender kiss, a spark igniting between them that quickly grew into something more passionate.
The next morning, the soft rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a golden glow over the bed. Kazuma and Masako lay tangled in the sheets, their bare skin warm against each other as they slept. Kazuma's light blue hair was slightly messy, and Masako's dark brown hair spilled across the pillow. Her golden eyes were closed, but even in her sleep, a small, content smile rested on her lips.
Kazuma stirred first, his light blue eyes blinking open as he took in the sight of his wife beside him. Her face was peaceful, her cheeks still faintly flushed from the night before. He couldn't help but smile as memories of their time together flooded back to him.

As if sensing his gaze, Masako's golden eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at him with a soft smile. "Good morning, dear," she murmured, her voice still heavy with sleep.
"Good morning, sweetie," Kazuma replied, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "How are you feeling?"
Masako stretched slightly, snuggling closer to him. "Amazing," she admitted, her cheeks turning pink. "Last night was... perfect. I didn't realize how much I needed that."
Kazuma chuckled, his arms tightening around her. "Me too. It's been way too long since we've had time for just us."
She nodded, resting her head against his chest. "We should make time for this more often. No matter how busy things get, I don't ever want us to forget how much we mean to each other."
"We won't," Kazuma promised, kissing the top of her head. "I'll always make time for you, Masako."
They lay there for a while longer, basking in the warmth of each other's presence. Even as the day ahead loomed with responsibilities and expectations, they felt ready to face it all—together. Their bond was stronger than ever, and no matter what challenges came their way, they knew they would always find their way back to each other.
