The howling wind swept across He Ao’s cheeks, brushed past his body, as his hand suddenly stilled, sensing an item filling his palm.

He lifted his hand and looked at the item that had appeared in his palm.

It was a leaf, or rather, a leaf carved from wood.

The entire leaf presented a light yellow wooden color, with faint traces of what seemed like carbonized scorch marks.

Yet it was so soft, so delicate, with veins and leaf blades extraordinarily distinct. Merely looking at its color and shape, one wouldn’t think it was a piece of ’wood,’ only that it was a soft, yellowed leaf that had just fallen from a tree.

It appeared to be about half the size of a palm, easy to hold, shaped somewhat like a maple leaf, but its edges were not as sharply defined as a maple leaf’s.

Holding this leaf, a gentle warmth emerged, as if it had just fallen under an autumn sunset, carrying the faint warmth of sunlight and the solitude of the season.

It appeared so harmless that it seemed even more reassuring than the D-level Multicolored Ring that He Ao always wore for disguising appearances.

But the closer He Ao gets to a High Positional Grade, the more he feels the terrifying nature of Divine Beings, the difference between Angels and Usurper Gods, and the gulf between Usurper Gods and Divine Beings.

Just like this instance with the Skull Giant copy world, which hadn’t become a usurper, but merely by a temporary elevation in position and strength approaching a usurper, it could easily suppress He Ao.

And as for the deity supporting this ancient wizard later on, He Ao couldn’t guess.

It’s highly likely a good friend, since this friend provided two ’revelations’, aiding the ancient wizard’s growth, helping him seek ’origin’.

But this friend, as the ’Truth’, seems to frequently give insights to the wizard, as He Ao noted numerous accounts in the system’s reward introductions.

After all, all truth-seeking wizards, in a certain sense, are shallow believers of a good friend.

So we can’t just confirm that they are good friends.

The second possible candidate is the Grim Reaper. Before this ancient wizard sought out the Grim Reaper, he specifically went to beat up the Lord of Hell, and then came out to make a pact with the Grim Reaper.

Nonetheless, though this ancient wizard was indeed very impressive, ultimately, the Barrier Wood wasn’t his personal creation.

But part of his discarded remains.

Since it was discarded remains, although there might be powerful forces within, the most powerful core part was probably taken away.

Even if not taken, those core forces might have been refined into powerful Extraordinary Items for use by the original body later.

Therefore, these remains probably only carry part of that ancient wizard’s power.

And the Barrier Wood is just a part of those remains.
