Chapter 98: 98:Are You Really A Farmer?
Duster ended up obtaining a fine sword.
The blade was of far better quality than his previous weapon, and he looked extremely pleased while examining it.
Meanwhile, Seon received a necklace that could protect her during critical moments. And although its effect was limited, it could potentially save her life in a dangerous situation.
Over the course of the journey, Reigns’ troops were also growing in number.
Through repeated battles and endless slaughter, his summons continued gaining experience. Most of the time, Reigns didn’t even need to lift a finger.
His troops simply charged forward and crushed everything that came in their path.
As a result, Reigns himself had already reached Level 18.
With eight Dryads leading the charge, Reigns’ combined might was no longer something to scoff at. The towering summons could easily overwhelm large groups of monsters while the Splash Shooters continuously provided support from behind.
Yet despite this rapid growth, Reigns felt somewhat uneasy.
His summons were becoming stronger every day, but he himself was barely participating in combat.
If this continued, he feared he might lose his edge.
Because of that, he started practicing with Duster whenever they had spare time.
Unfortunately for him, reality was cruel.
To his absolute horror, Duster proceeded to beat the shit out of him.
Again and again.
Every sparring session ended up with Reigns sprawled somewhere in the snow while Duster remained standing.
The difference between them became painfully obvious.
After receiving a thorough beating, Reigns finally learned the reason.
Duster possessed a pure Swordsmanship Class.
Not only that, but he also had a Tier Potential of 6.
The revelation immediately brought a great deal of awe from the girls. Their eyes widened as they stared at Duster.
A Tier Potential of 6 was incredibly rare.
However, there was another piece of information that shocked them even more.
"WHAAAAT!"
"You are a farmerrrrr!"
Duster blinked in confusion and then suddenly wrapped his arms around Reigns’ shoulders.
"Reigns... Listen, pal. I know you want to boast. In fact, everyone does, but don’t you think you are going over the top?"
Reigns didn’t know what to say.
If possible, he really didn’t want to tell them that he had a farmer class.
But that was the class recorded in the official records, and he couldn’t exactly tell them that he had reawakened.
There had been cases of people getting their classes upgraded and breaking through their Tier potential, but there had never been a situation where someone took a single step and ascended to heaven like he had.
Where was Farmer, and where was Plant Sovereign?
The comparison was like comparing a class standing at the foot of a pyramid to one sitting at the very peak.
"I ain’t lying. You can ask Captain!"
Duster immediately turned toward Hex, who stood like an impenetrable fortress while bracing against the cold winds.
"Is this for real, Captain? He’s really a farmer?"
Hex briefly looked at the team.
Noticing their shocked expressions, he simply nodded.
"Yes, he is."
"You’ve gotta be kidding me. Why do I feel like all of you are trying to mess with us?"
Duster rubbed his forehead, looking completely unconvinced.
Gianna, who had been silent the whole time, finally spoke with hesitation.
"It’s like a miracle."
"Yes, it is rare, but it’s not like there have never been cases like this."
Everyone immediately turned toward Hex with curiosity.
Reigns also looked at him.
Hex was already staring ahead as he continued speaking.
"Once you live long enough, you will see all kinds of bizarre things. There was even a guy whose class was Grave Digger."
"..."
Reigns blinked.
’Grave Digger... Now what kind of skills would that even have? Digging graves? Desecrating corpses? Stealing their remains?’
"As you’re probably thinking, it was useless."
Hex paused for a moment.
"But the odd thing was that he had awakened a class with Tier 1 potential, so he didn’t give up and kept surviving. Then, when he reached Tier 2, magic happened."
Everyone immediately leaned closer.
"He gained the ability to control corpses."
Reigns raised his brows.
’Now this was interesting.’
"You just stepped in, so you don’t know this yet, but there have been many examples of classes mutating after advancing in Tier. And there was a common link among those cases."
"That all of them were oddball support-type classes?" Reigns asked.
"Yes."
Hex nodded without looking back.
"That’s why you’re taught never to give up. If you persist, miracles can happen."
His words filled them with a renewed sense of vigor.
Anyone who joined the Federation usually didn’t have much potential. Otherwise, they would have already been recruited by powerful families or major organizations.
Most of them were hanging onto fragile ropes of hope without seeing any end in sight.
You kept climbing without knowing how far away the top actually was.
At the same time, you couldn’t let go because you were afraid of falling.
It was utterly cruel.
The APC continued moving forward unbothered.
The farther they traveled, the fewer monsters they encountered.
That came as a surprise to the group.
Then suddenly—
"Look, there’s something!"
SWISHH!
The mist converging ahead slowly began parting, revealing a small black dot far in the distance.
Everyone immediately grew alert.
"Keep your guard up!" Hex ordered.
Reigns immediately pulled out his scythe, and several Splash Shooters emerged beside him.
The others also armed themselves and prepared for combat.
As they drew closer, Reigns suddenly felt a strange connection.
The sensation startled him.
’This...’
The black dot rapidly grew larger.
Soon, huge fortress-like walls appeared before their eyes.
The massive structure stood proudly amid the snow-covered landscape.
And on top of the walls, soldiers carrying spears stood guard.
Beside them, several familiar plants were rooted firmly in place.
The entire group was stunned.
Their eyes slowly moved from the plants atop the walls to the Splash Shooters standing beside Reigns.
Then back to the walls again.
For a moment, complete silence filled the APC.
Duster swallowed hard.
His eyes widened as he pointed toward the fortress.
"Reigns... isn’t that?"
