Chapter 79: 79:The Glimpse Of Thier Death
Reigns gritted his teeth while retreating rapidly and searched for an opening—any opening.
Then he extended his free hand forward.
"Bronze Hand!"
A bronze glow instantly covered his palm; the energy hardened his hand completely.
The next moment, Reigns grabbed the incoming sword blade with his bare hand.
CLANG!
The sword trembled violently against his grip while the metal screeched loudly.
Yet it still failed to cut through the hardened bronze coating.
The undead knight paused for a split second after seeing its attack was stopped so abruptly.
And that single moment was enough.
Reigns immediately yanked the sword toward himself while simultaneously driving the curved scythe blade into the exposed neck joint where the undead knight’s armor’s connection appeared the weakest.
CRACK!
The blade pierced deep into the gap.
Dark energy leaked outward from the wound.
Then Reigns slammed a heavy kick into the undead knight’s thigh with all his strength.
BANG!
The creature stumbled awkwardly for a brief second while its posture broke apart slightly.
Reigns immediately pulled back the scythe and swung again.
SLASH!
This time, the undead knight’s head was severed completely.
Its massive armored body crashed heavily onto the floor, shaking the cracked ground beneath it.
[You have killed Lv16 Undead Knight.]
[You have gained 1700 days of tradable lifespan.]
Reigns slowly exhaled and turned his gaze toward the gigantic figure standing at the center of the hall.
Lightning still crackled faintly around his body.
[Undead Warrior Lv20.]
Seeing the creature’s level, Reigns’ expression grew serious.
A Lv20 enemy was honestly on an entirely different level compared to the other undead knights in the hall.
Lv20...
This battle was definitely going to be tough.
Still...
Reigns’ stats were already far beyond what was normal for someone of his rank. The increase in stamina and mana after consuming the heart earlier had significantly strengthened his overall combat ability.
Combined with Berserker’s boost to his strength and his movement skills enhancing his agility...
Reigns honestly felt he still had a chance against the monster before him.
"He’s just gonna keep summoning if I let him."
Reigns quickly scanned the battlefield before shouting toward his summons.
"Clear the way!"
SWOOSH!
BANG!
The Dryads immediately sprang into action upon hearing his command. Their enormous wooden fists slammed heavily into the undead knights blocking the path, while giant vines wrapped around several enemies before violently throwing them aside.
Dryad Number 1 even grabbed a fallen sword from the ground and started wildly hacking around with it, smashing skeletons apart with crude, brutal swings.
Its movements looked rough and clumsy, and the sword swings lacked any proper technique.
Honestly...
The swordsmanship was terrible.
Reigns already considered his own fighting style crude.
But this...
This was somehow even worse.
Still, it somehow worked.
The Dryad’s overwhelming raw strength blasted the undead skeletons apart every single time the sword connected.
"Whatever... if it works, it works."
Reigns muttered as he immediately rushed through the opening the Dryads had created and charged straight toward the Undead Warrior.
Using the fallen debris as footholds, he quickly climbed upward before launching himself toward the gigantic monster.
Lightning rapidly gathered around his scythe as energy crackled wildly across the blade, illuminating the dark hall with flashes of blue light.
"Arcane Blast!"
CRAAAAACK!
The scythe began glowing violently with concentrated lightning energy while electricity danced wildly across its sharp, curved blade.
Reigns twisted his body midair, gathering even more force into the strike before hacking the scythe downward with everything he had.
The gigantic undead monster stood motionless for a brief second. Then it slowly grasped its enormous greatsword with both hands and raised it upward.
Then at the final moment...
The Undead Warrior suddenly moved.
With terrifying force, it swung the gigantic greatsword upward directly toward Reigns while dark energy erupted around the blade.
The two overwhelming attacks clashed head-on.
BANGGGGG!
A loud blast erupted alongside a blinding streak of light.
The violent collision shook the entire hall and unleashed destructive shockwaves across the surroundings as broken debris and dust exploded outward in every direction.
The sudden burst of light blinded Reigns momentarily, while the force of the impact made his entire body tremble.
What came next was far worse than he had expected.
The moment his scythe struck against the gigantic greatsword, cracks instantly spread across the weapon.
Then, it shattered.
CRACK! SHATTER!
Sharp metal fragments exploded outward and scattered through the air. Several pieces sliced directly across Reigns’ body, carving deep, bloody gashes across his arms, chest, and shoulders.
"UGH!"
Reigns let out a painful groan as blood splattered across his clothes and the impact blasted him backward mercilessly.
BANG!
His entire body was flung across the hall before violently crashing into the broken floor and rolling several times through debris, shattered stone, and fallen pillars.
Pain exploded throughout his body as blood slowly dripped from the cuts covering him.
Reigns finally came to a stop after smashing heavily into a broken pillar.
Dust and rubble continued to rain down around him.
Reigns coughed violently and even spat blood from his mouth as he forced himself back up despite the unbearable pain surging through his body.
His arms trembled badly. His vision remained blurry from the earlier explosion, and his ears rang from the impact.
But before he could even stand properly...
A familiar voice suddenly echoed through the hall again, filled with resentment and despair.
"We died because of you!"
Reigns’ entire body instantly froze upon hearing that voice.
"Arvin!"
His eyes widened as he immediately raised his head and looked ahead in desperation.
And there...
Leaning against a broken rock nearby...
Stood Arvin.
Or rather...
Something that looked like Arvin.
His entire body was covered in savage wounds.
Dried blood soaked his torn clothes, and several broken weapons remained lodged deeply into his chest, shoulders, stomach, and arms.
Blood continuously dripped from his ruined body.
His skin looked pale and lifeless, while his breathing sounded broken and ragged.
Yet those eyes...
Those eyes stared directly at Reigns without blinking.
"Ar... Arvin..."
