Chapter 100: 100:Come With Us To Modern World
While the others were completely relaxed and busy enjoying the comfort of the mansion after their exhausting journey, Reigns, who carried a bit of familiarity with this place from his previous visit, found himself subconsciously observing his surroundings and noticing several small details that appeared different from the last time he had been here.
Previously, most of the guards had remained around the mansion itself, handling support duties, maintaining order, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. Now, however, the majority of them appeared to be stationed around the outer walls and defensive positions as though they were preparing for something.
On the way here, they had encountered quite a number of monsters roaming the surroundings, but none of them had been particularly strong or threatening.
That alone made him feel suspicious.
Their journey had gone far too smoothly.
’One can’t be this lucky, can they?’
The group eventually gathered inside the guest room alongside Hex.
The room itself was spacious and elegant, carrying the charm of ancient architecture. Massive wooden pillars supported the ceiling while intricate carvings decorated the walls.
Expensive furniture filled the room, and warm light from hanging lamps illuminated every corner, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
Duster slowly looked around at the luxurious surroundings before his gaze wandered across the massive mansion and its ancient interiors.
"Doesn’t this place look like one of those noble houses from the ancient era?"
"Hmm!"
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Hex remained standing nearby, observing the room with the same stern and cold expression that never seemed to leave his face.
Reigns secretly glanced at him.
’How does one keep up the same straight face all the time? Doesn’t it hurt?’
Just as the thought crossed his mind, the door opened.
Hisen walked inside with calm and steady steps. His eyes slowly swept across the room before settling on the guests.
"Are you enjoying your stay here? Were the accommodations to your liking?"
"Yes, it was very good. Especially the food, it was marvelous!" Duster immediately butted in without hesitation.
The moment the words left his mouth, Hex turned his head and shot him a sharp glare that clearly told him to stay quiet.
Duster instantly coughed awkwardly and shifted his gaze away.
"That’s very nice to hear."
Hisen smiled faintly before calmly taking a seat.
His attention then shifted toward Hex.
Hex gave a slight nod before clearing his throat.
"First, I should give a brief about this world."
Reaching into his pocket, he took out a small device and clicked a button.
A large projected screen immediately appeared in front of everyone.
Hisen’s eyes widened slightly with curiosity as he observed the unfamiliar device.
"The technology of this world is ages ahead of yours. Humanity has evolved by leaps and bounds, creating countless innovations."
As he spoke, images began appearing one after another on the screen.
Vehicles capable of traveling enormous distances.
Communication systems that connected entire continents.
Computers that were capable of processing unimaginable amounts of information.
Advanced medical equipment that could save lives that would have been impossible to save in the past.
Artificial intelligence.
Energy systems.
Space exploration technology.
One by one, Hex displayed these inventions and briefly explained their functions before moving on to the next topic.
Eventually, the discussion shifted toward the political structure of the Federation.
"The Federation is the central governing authority of humanity."
The image on the screen changed.
"The Federation is divided into many regions. Every region is managed by governors and administrators who oversee daily affairs and ensure that resources, infrastructure, law enforcement, and public welfare continue functioning properly."
Another image appeared.
"Cities are managed by City Lords, Mayors, and appointed officials who coordinate local governance and maintain order among civilians."
The screen shifted once more.
"At the highest administrative level, each region is represented by officials who answer to the Chairman and the President."
"Supporting them are numerous councils and departments responsible for military affairs, economics, scientific development, education, infrastructure, law, diplomacy, and countless other matters required to maintain humanity’s stability."
Hisen listened attentively while Hex continued.
"Justice is maintained through a structured legal system. Every citizen possesses rights protected by Federation law. Courts exist to resolve disputes, while law enforcement agencies ensure that those laws are properly upheld."
The image changed once again.
"However, governance is not handled by the Federation alone."
"There are also powerful families."
Several symbols and emblems appeared on the screen.
"Some ancient families possess enormous influence. They own territories, industries, resources, military assets, research facilities, and economic networks spread throughout various regions."
"Although they remain subject to Federation laws, their authority within their own domains remains considerable."
"Many of humanity’s strongest combatants, greatest researchers, wealthiest industrialists, and most influential leaders originate from these families."
"The Federation works continuously to maintain a balance between these powers and ensure long-term stability."
The explanation continued for a long time.
Hex patiently explained everything from the most basic concepts to the more complicated details, as if he were teaching children who had never seen the modern world before.
The briefing eventually stretched on for almost an entire hour.
By the end of it, Duster looked completely dazed.
Seon appeared barely capable of focusing anymore. Gianna had practically sunk into her chair.
Even Reigns looked somewhat tired from listening to the lengthy explanation.
Yet among them, only Reigns continued paying close attention to everything.
Many of the concepts being discussed were still unfamiliar even to him.
This was a valuable opportunity to expand his knowledge.
After all, Hex was explaining everything in a simple and systematic manner.
Eventually, the briefing came to an end.
Hisen slowly leaned back against the sofa.
"I see."
"As pillars of humanity, it is your job to keep them united, so you sent various representatives to invite others to migrate here. It is certainly a noble undertaking, but won’t we have various problems?"
"I understand that concern very well."
Hex spoke calmly while taking out a stack of papers.
"This is the agreement. We are prepared to offer you a significant position within the Federation. Land will be allocated to your people should they choose to migrate."
"You are free to settle in an existing town, where housing will be provided, or you will be allowed to select a piece of barren land to build your own settlement on it. If you choose to reside in a town, apartments will be made available for your people."
Hisen carefully examined the documents before taking hold of the contract.
At the back, Reigns couldn’t help but wonder whether Hisen could actually read it.
The language of this world and the language spoken by Hisen’s people were fundamentally different.
The only reason they could communicate verbally was because of the world’s magic.
Still, he had never expected that even the written words could somehow be translated.
After several moments, Hisen slowly placed the paper down, and his expression gradually turned serious.
"Your proposal is interesting, but what if we refuse to migrate?"
The question instantly froze the atmosphere inside the room.
Hex’s brows furrowed slightly.
"Sir Hisen, I shall respect your choice, but you should remember that you are no longer in a zone where the level of monsters is restricted."
"The zone has just aligned with the real world, so most of the monsters around the periphery belong to the Zone of Redact. However, greater danger will soon come."
"Monsters ranging from Tier 2 to Tier 5, and perhaps even higher, might appear. And when that happens, none of your people except you will survive."
"And we need to move swiftly on top of that. If you delay, circumstances might start to change, and we, the Federation, don’t want such a thing to happen."
"The world is always in peril. Every combatant appearing is meaningful in humanity’s struggle for survival, and your settlement has many. We do not wish to see that potential be sacrificed."
Hisen quietly studied Hex’s face while considering the advantages and disadvantages.
"You are right, but integrating into your world won’t be easy for my folks. We are merely backward people from the ancient times, while your civilization is miles ahead. Who will hold justice for us when things go wrong?"
Hex’s gaze shifted slightly.
He raised a hand and pointed toward the contract resting on the table.
"There is Act of Protection included within. As long as you are not in the wrong, you will receive justice. And believe me, once you experience the life in the modern world, you won’t be able to go back."
