Chapter 1970: Chapter 1970: Feeding Guidelines (11)

Xiao Si didn’t notice Chuzheng sneaking up behind and hurried downstairs to meet a few other people.

Two bodyguards stayed where they were, while the others went to the small building they were residing in.

Chuzheng avoided the two remaining bodyguards and followed them at a distance.

The group entered the small building and skillfully opened a secret door, revealing stairs leading down below.

But they only stood at the entrance, with no intention of descending.

Chuzheng looped the Yin Xian once and confidently walked out, heading down the stairs.

The steps counted roughly over twenty. At the bottom was a passageway illuminated by wall lamps.

One end was blocked off, allowing only one direction.

Chuzheng headed towards it. An eerie wind from who knows where blew through the tunnel, filling Chuzheng with discomfort, an instinctual urge to bristle.

Just then, Chuzheng heard a panting sound.

Chuzheng paused for a moment, then quickened her steps towards the sound.

Soon, Chuzheng saw a room — no, a cell would be more accurate.

Inside the room, a man knelt on the ground, hands supporting himself, breathing rapidly as if having endured immense pain.

Chuzheng’s gaze swept across the room, filled with tools unfit for description, like a private interrogation room.

Chuzheng used her paw to tap the iron bars, making a sound.

The man with his head down slowly turned at the noise, his handsome face expressionless. His usually calm eyes, now red as a devil awakening, brewing a world-destroying power, terrifying.

An eerie wind blew past Chuzheng’s neck, causing goosebumps to rise.

Chuzheng tried to push the gate, but it was locked and wouldn’t budge.

The sound of Chuzheng pushing stirred a slight reaction in the person inside.

In Shang Qi’s blood-red gaze, a hint of white appeared.

That pure white gradually expanded, the lost rationality slowly returning.

Relying on her liquid cat nature, Chuzheng squeezed through the bars and swiftly rushed to the man.

Shang Qi reached out to catch her: "How did you find this place?"

Chuzheng’s paws tapped him: What the hell are you doing!!

Shang Qi, looking exhausted, sat back against the chair leg, hoarsely asking, "Was it scary?"

Shang Qi seemed to speak to himself: "Don’t run down like that next time. I can’t always stay rational; you might get hurt."

I wouldn’t know what you’re up to if I didn’t come!

Wow, my Good Person Card!

Locked yourself in a little black room!

You’re so impressive, why not fly to the heavens!

Chuzheng gripped Shang Qi, her claws sinking into his arm, but any pain was negligible to him.

He suddenly ducked his head, burying his face in Chuzheng’s soft long fur.

Shang Qi’s sudden action left Chuzheng no time to dodge.

Feeling offended!

A moment later, Chuzheng extended her paw, lightly patting Shang Qi’s head twice, and then hugged him with her small paws.

Endure him.

After all, it’s my Good Person Card, who else would tolerate him!

In this cold basement, Shang Qi felt warmth for the first time.

No!

For the first time in his over twenty years of life, he felt such warmth.

No telling how long passed before the man lifted his head, leaning on the chair to stand up, holding Chuzheng tightly in his arms.

The man looked down and kissed Chuzheng on the head: "Let’s get out."

Shang Qi unlocked the door, carrying Chuzheng away. If he turned back, he’d see everything in the room behind him instantly turning to nothingness in a magical display.

Unfortunately, Shang Qi didn’t turn back.

As Shang Qi emerged with Chuzheng, the people outside were astonished. When did Yue Ban run down there?!

"Sir, are you...?"

"It’s fine." Shang Qi didn’t look worse than usual: "No need to call Du Pei over."

"But..." Receiving the boss’s look, the bodyguard quickly replied, yes, to call Doctor Du off.

"When did Yue Ban run down?"

"Didn’t notice."

"Sir seems not as serious as before today..."

"Yeah..."

The guards exchanged a few words before dispersing and getting back to work.

-

Shang Qi returned to his room, grabbing clothes to take a shower. Before the bathroom door closed, Chuzheng had already slipped in.

Shang Qi: "..."

He squatted down: "Yue Ban, I’m going to take a shower."

Go ahead, I’m not going to do anything to you.

Chuzheng jumped onto a surface nearby, intent on staying.

Shang Qi fell silent: "I’m fine now, nothing else will happen, no need to watch me like this."

Chuzheng rolled her eyes inwardly: Who knows what you’re thinking, what if you suddenly get provoked?

Shang Qi considered picking Chuzheng up to take her out, but she leaped to a higher spot, her deep blue, serene eyes filled with a cold and proud disdain — foolish human, don’t bother trying to force me out.

"..."

Shang Qi sighed, closing the bathroom door.

Though the little creature was clever, after all, merely a small animal, Shang Qi didn’t dwell on it.

Chuzheng, confirming Shang Qi wouldn’t throw her out, then jumped down, lying on the surface.

As Shang Qi took off his clothes, Chuzheng noticed scars on his back, both old and new, some rather fierce.

Before Chuzheng could get a better look, Shang Qi had turned around.

Meeting Chuzheng’s gaze, Shang Qi, who thought nothing of it before, now felt a sudden touch of shame.

Shang Qi tossed his clothes over Chuzheng, effectively covering her.

When Chuzheng struggled free from the garment, Shang Qi was already in the bathtub, fully submerged.

Chuzheng: "..."

Chuzheng used her paw to push Shang Qi’s clothes off to the floor, displeased, and lay down, eyes fixed on him.

I don’t believe you won’t come out!

In the misty steam of the bathroom, the mirror fogged up, silent and serene.

Minutes later, Shang Qi broke the silence: "Was that person from before your former owner?"

He sensed the little one definitely knew that He Jin.

That bastard could even be considered fit?

Chuzheng, unable to resist, rolled her eyes. Fortunately, Shang Qi didn’t notice, and Chuzheng quickly restrained herself.

Shang Qi lifted his eyes, gazing at the fluffy, snowy white Bun Bai on the counter: "Why did you choose me and not him?"

What do you mean? So it wasn’t good that I chose you?

You wish I’d choose that bastard instead!

Not being able to communicate is so tough.

Chuzheng spotted Shang Qi’s phone on the counter and pushed it to the edge with her paw, tapping the screen with her claw.

Shang Qi didn’t understand Chuzheng’s intention.

Chuzheng nudged the phone a bit more.

This time, Shang Qi seemed to understand, reaching over, unlocking the phone, then placing it back in front of Chuzheng.

Her claw couldn’t properly operate the screen, so Chuzheng had to use her paw pad.

But the pad was too big, so Chuzheng made her attempt to open the memo app, typing out a few words.
