Chapter 1956: Chapter 1956: Mirror World (33)
When going down the mountain, the little monk hurriedly chased after them and handed them two wooden boxes.
"The host said, when you have the seeds, place them inside here. Please bring the seeds back and bury them under the Bond-Forming Tree. Amitabha." The little monk said and then ran off.
The wooden box was about the same size as a ring box, engraved with beautiful patterns and exuding a faint fragrance.
"Do you think there truly will be seeds?" After all these years, he had never seen that tree bear seeds.
Chuzheng kept the box safe: "Maybe the time hasn’t come yet."
Cheng Mu glanced back at the majestic, ancient temple, his lips curling slightly. He held Chuzheng’s hand and continued downward.
On the way back, they encountered a car accident. Chuzheng, who usually didn’t like meddling, surprisingly went to help.
After sending the people to the hospital, Chuzheng removed her dirty coat: "Why are you staring at me like that?"
Cheng Mu shrugged: "I realize that I don’t know you well enough yet."
Chuzheng suddenly closed in on him, placing her hand on the wall behind him: "Do you want to take the trouble to know me better?"
Chuzheng’s words held implications, and Cheng Mu understood them.
He slowly smiled: "I’d be happy to oblige."
"Why not now?" Chuzheng swiftly pulled him away.
"Huh?"

After getting the approval from Father Yuk and Mother Yuk, there were hardly any formalities needed for Father Cheng.
Father Cheng’s requirement was simple—someone who is alive.
So, when Father Cheng found out that Cheng Mu’s partner was a pretty young lady, he had no objections.
The relationship between Cheng Mu and Father Cheng was not as strained as it was in younger years, but nor was it close; there was always a barrier between them.
Since neither parents had objections, after some time in the relationship, wedding plans were put on the agenda.
Chuzheng was busy raising her profile, using all her energy to work on design drafts, leaving no time for wedding preparations.
So, the wedding arrangements were left to the parents and Cheng Mu. Chuzheng was only involved financially, planning to make an appearance on the wedding day.
Cheng Mu found it strange.
In other weddings, the bride would eagerly take charge of everything.
The wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Why is she so indifferent?
"President Cheng, your delivery."
"Just leave it there."
The assistant put the box down, Cheng Mu was busy with meetings, and it wasn’t until evening that he remembered the box.
Cheng Mu didn’t recall buying anything and looked for a knife to open the box.
Inside the box was a suit, which Cheng Mu found familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere...
A few minutes later, Cheng Mu remembered where he had seen it.
He had seen her draw the design draft.
For him, that was ten years ago...
[Cheng Mu: Sister wanted to marry me that early?]
[Chuzheng: Do you like it?]
[Cheng Mu: I like it.]
Cheng Mu and Chuzheng chatted about some topics not allowed by the core values of socialism, then he left holding the box.
He put the box in the trunk, his lips involuntarily curling upwards.
Cheng Mu didn’t notice that, in the darkness behind him, someone stood silently, watching him.
-
On the wedding day.
Chuzheng, as the bride, was preparing at home. Father Yuk was peeking through the doorframe, looking inside.
After today, the daughter would belong to someone else.
Mother Yuk pulled Father Yuk away.
Chuzheng sat in the room, looking at the girl in the wedding dress in the mirror, her face still expressionless.
"Why hasn’t the groom arrived yet?"
The appointed time was about to pass, and the groom was nowhere to be seen.
Chuzheng heard the commotion, opened the door and went out: "What happened?"
"They said the groom is missing." said the person who just finished the call gloomily.
"..." Could the Good Person Card have eloped?
"Could it be... he eloped?"
"What nonsense are you talking?" The speaker was slapped: "Maybe something came up, let’s contact the groom first."
"But he can’t be reached."
"They’re searching everywhere."
"Could he really have eloped?"
People around whispered, some worried and others watching the drama unfold.
Chuzheng ignored them, turned back into the room, and dialed Cheng Mu’s number.
The call indicated that the phone was turned off.
[Sister, welcome to the wedding rescue mission!] King’s Account burst into Chuzheng’s mind excitedly: [Let’s go rescue the Good Person Card! Go, go, go!]
Chuzheng: "..."
Who the heck is hijacking my wedding?
[Take a guess.]
"Qu An?"
[...] Well, this is no fun.
After Cheng Mu appeared, Chuzheng had investigated Qu An’s whereabouts, but there was no news.
Now he suddenly reappeared.
Why is he haunting me like a Ghost Spirit?
King’s Account just wanted to ask Chuzheng if she needed help when she saw Chuzheng activating her phone, opening a particular APP...
[You’ve installed another locator on the Good Person Card!!]
"Just in case." Chuzheng said confidently: "See, I’m using it now."
[...] King’s Account was so frustrated it went quiet.
-
On the highway, a black SUV sped past.
Inside, soothing music played, and the man driving tapped his fingers on the steering wheel to the rhythm.
The man’s appearance was handsome, his lips curled in a faint smile, his eyes seemed to have glimmers of excitement.
Meanwhile, on the passenger seat, the man in a white suit was fully restrained on the seat.
This person was none other than Cheng Mu.
Cheng Mu slowly woke up, and the feeling of being restrained brought him to function quickly.
"Brother is awake?"
That long-unheard address made Cheng Mu sharply turn his head, the face of a youth from his memories overlapping with the person beside him.
Qu An!
Qu An smiled: "Brother seems surprised to see me, it’s been ten years. Brother, have you missed me?"
Cheng Mu’s mouth wasn’t sealed, he stared at Qu An: "Qu An, what are you trying to do?"
"Brother, I don’t want to see you get married." Qu An’s expression looked somewhat aggrieved: "I feel terrible."
"..."
What the hell does your heartache have to do with me?!
Cheng Mu was on the verge of exploding; when did this lunatic return?!
Cheng Mu calmed down: "This is a kidnapping."
"Yes, I want my brother." Qu An smiled serenely, yet his eyes carried a subdued grimness: "This is the last resort. Brother, bear with it for now."
Cheng Mu inexplicably remembered the words Chuzheng had once said to him: She said she and Qu An were no different.
No!
They are different!
She was determined to get him, but never looked at him with those destructive eyes.
She would accommodate him as much as possible, and even if he refused, she wouldn’t act excessively.
They never walked the same path.
"Qu An, what do you like about me?"
"What does brother like about her?" Qu An replied with a question.
Cheng Mu stared at Qu An: "Answer my question."
Qu An’s lips twitched, weakening: "Ever since the first time, I knew brother was meant for me. I like brother, without reason; everything about you, I like."
Cheng Mu: "Everything about me includes Yuk Chuzheng. Do you like her too?"
Qu An: "..."
