Chapter 1926: Chapter 1926: Mirror World (3)
So Chuzheng went inside to change clothes, intending to go out, when Father Yuk followed her.
"Dad, what are you doing?"
Father Yuk coughed awkwardly: "It’s already dark, Xiao Chu, are you still going out?"
"I’ll just take a walk outside." Chuzheng said casually.
"Dad ate a bit too much, I’ll go with you."
Chuzheng opened her mouth but didn’t say anything in the end, heading downstairs and out of the yard.
The area was actually quite lively, and as soon as Chuzheng stepped out, she saw several children squatting over there playing games.
Next to them were old people sitting together playing chess and cooling off, and there were workers just getting home from work, greeting people as they walked towards home.
This place was full of life.
Chuzheng walked about ten meters forward and saw those two rooms leaning on her house’s courtyard wall.
The houses were much better than the original owner’s impression, who remembered they suddenly changed one day, but according to the residents, it had been like this for years.
Now Yu Shi was already a successful person, wealthy, yet insisted on living here, citing her father’s nostalgia.
Something’s wrong!
"Xiao Chu..."
Father Yuk saw Chuzheng staring at Yu Shi’s house, feeling a bit nervous, just as he was about to say something to divert her attention, Chuzheng had already shifted her gaze.
Chuzheng wandered around outside, bought some things, then wandered back home.
Father Yuk followed cautiously, fearing something might suddenly happen to Chuzheng on the way.
"Shi Shi is back, you finished work early today."
A young girl’s cheerful voice followed: "My dad hasn’t been feeling well lately, so I came back early."
"See, our Shi Shi is capable and filial. Unlike our family’s wretched girl, who only knows to work and never comes home, if I die at home one day, I’d probably still rely on you neighbors."
"Auntie, what are you saying? You’ll definitely have a long life."
"Look at that sweet mouth."
From afar, Chuzheng watched the well-dressed girl chatting and laughing with the neighbors cooling off.
That person was Yu Shi.
"Uncle, Auntie, I’ll go back and check on my dad." Yu Shi waved to the chattering middle-aged gossip group and was about to return to her own home.
Just as she turned around, she met a pair of cold eyes.
Those eyes were pitch-black, icy cold, and suddenly meeting them inexplicably made one shiver.
She actually came out...
Yu Shi quickly regained composure, didn’t greet, and walked away.
After all, now the situation is Chuzheng plagiarized her, and she generously doesn’t sue.
"Isn’t that the girl from the Yuk family?"
"Oh... I heard from my granddaughter that she copied Shi Shi’s work."
The middle-aged group didn’t know much about this, but families with children would definitely know some.
Chuzheng was still someone around them, naturally, they’d gossip.
"She used to work at a big company, never thought she’d be like this, luckily Shi Shi is kind, not taking it up with her, otherwise she’d face a lawsuit."
"You really can’t judge a person by their appearance."
"Used to think that girl was alright."
"I heard this issue caused quite a stir, she’s lost her job now."
The middle-aged gossip group chatted more and more excitedly, most of the looks falling on Chuzheng carried disdain and ridicule.
"You people..."
Father Yuk instinctively defended his daughter, but was stopped by Chuzheng.
"Let’s go."
Father Yuk was surprised: "Xiao Chu, aren’t you angry?"
"What’s to be angry about." Chuzheng walked home with her hands folded: "They’re insignificant people, Dad, let’s go home."
Now the most important thing is to figure out how Yu Shi changed ten years ago to alter the present.
The original owner failed so miserably because Yu Shi gained the upper hand on the timeline.
Father Yuk: "..."
Father Yuk looked dazedly at his daughter’s back, feeling utterly confused, finally glaring at the gossipmongers and following Chuzheng into the yard.
-
Chuzheng was fired, naturally had no job, and the Bastard didn’t issue any tasks, so her daily agenda was to observe Yu Shi.
Yu Shi didn’t seem abnormal, working every day, coming home to take care of her dad.
Apart from colleagues, assistants, and some necessary work contacts, she didn’t seem to meet anyone else.
A few months ago Yu Shi was still unknown, no one knew who she was.
As of now, she’s already a major designer, winning numerous awards.
This isn’t her achievement in the past few months, but history has been made this way.
Such extensive memory alteration can only be achieved by changing the past.
Chuzheng leaned against the window, looking at the tree with small flowers in the yard.
A slight glance sideways, and her view showed Yu Shi’s house.
She was supporting a man hunched over, bringing him out, setting a small table and arranging bowls and chopsticks outside.
The two sat outside having dinner, the scene strangely warm.
Yu Shi seemed to notice something, suddenly looking up, glancing over. Just as Chuzheng turned back to her room, Yu Shi saw only the open window, nothing more.
A night passed without incident.
The next day, Chuzheng slowly sat up from bed, immediately catching sight of the person in the mirror across.
Having a mirror opposite the bed is forbidden to many, and it’s unclear why the original owner had such a large mirror facing the bed.
Seeing it suddenly at night is quite frightening.
Chuzheng wobbled getting ready to go out, walked past that mirror, then turned back.
On the table beneath the mirror was a book, a... Five Three?
Chuzheng was very certain this book wasn’t on the table before, given the original owner had graduated long ago, why would such a thing be there.
Chuzheng stepped forward, flipping through the Five Three, with the title page majestically bearing the name Cheng Mu.
Beyond that, there were no other traces of writing.
Cheng Mu?
There was no such name in the original owner’s memory.
Chuzheng took the book out to find Mother Yuk: "Mom, did you put this book in my room?"
Mother Yuk was preparing breakfast, glancing at the book in Chuzheng’s hand: "No, isn’t it yours?"
Chuzheng: "..." Why would I need this thing.
Chuzheng then found Father Yuk to ask, Father Yuk also shook his head indicating it wasn’t him.
"Then do you know Cheng Mu?"
"Cheng Mu?" Father Yuk looked puzzled: "No, who’s that?"
"Nobody."
Chuzheng took the book back to the room, it was so strange, could it have appeared out of thin air?
No one could possibly place the book without her noticing.
What is the point of putting a Five Three?
Chuzheng stared at the name, eventually pulled out her phone to search, however, the results were so varied, none useful.
Chuzheng threw her phone aside, turning the book over and over, always feeling something was off.
Wait!
Chuzheng looked at the date on the book, 2019?
Isn’t it 2029 now?
Why was the book’s edition from 2019?

I don’t know if anyone might not understand this setting.
The overall idea is that history changes, the future alters too.
It’s like if student A has poor grades, but goes back to the past and studies hard, then in the current timeline student A becomes a top student. Both timelines run simultaneously yet connect.
