Chapter 1919: Chapter 1919: Magic Apostle (End)
"Suo Wei?"
Chuzheng pushed open several rooms but didn’t see anyone.
Where did he go?
She clearly saw him coming upstairs just now.
Chuzheng searched again and finally found him in the pool.
Suo Wei submerged himself at the bottom of the pool. If Chuzheng hadn’t walked closer, she wouldn’t have noticed him at all.
"What are you doing?" Chuzheng sat by the pool, looking at the person in the water.
No one responded to her.
After waiting for a moment, Chuzheng reached out to pull him up.
"Are you trying to drown yourself?"
Suo Wei wiped his face, slicked his hair back, revealing a broad forehead, and his face was slightly flushed.
He grumbled discontentedly, "I’m good at holding my breath, I won’t drown myself."
"Oh."
Then continue.
Chuzheng got up to leave, but Suo Wei quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her forcefully.
Splash—
Chuzheng fell into the pool; the surface rippled, spilling quite a bit.
"Suo Wei!" Chuzheng stood up in the pool, her clothes soaked and heavy.
Suo Wei responded obediently, "Hmm, I’m here."
"What are you doing?!"
"I want you to keep me company." Suo Wei said softly, making it hard to refuse him.
But who is Chuzheng?
She doesn’t want to accompany him. This guy could stay in the water for ages when he feels hot.
She’d be crazy to stay with him in the water.
"I’m going up."
Chuzheng hadn’t gotten out of the pool when Suo Wei suddenly embraced her from behind.
"No."
"Stop messing around."
"I’m not."
"Do it yourself."
"I want you with me."
"Are you a child?"
"I am!"
"..."
Have some shame!
When Wuno came in to call them for dinner, the two were playing around. It was mainly his young master causing the ruckus, while Miss Xue Laiya watched indifferently, looking like she wanted to hit the young master.
Wuno thought the young master hadn’t been beaten thanks to Miss Xue Laiya’s excellent restraint, pampering his young master.
Hearing Wuno’s analysis, Suo Wei snorted. She’s not so kind; everything must be repaid.
Wuno was confused; did he say something wrong?
"You don’t understand." Suo Wei left Wuno puzzled for a long time with that statement.
How could he not understand?
Isn’t it true that Miss Xue Laiya spoils the young master?
It wasn’t until much later that Wuno approximately understood the meaning of his young master’s words. The end result was seeing something he shouldn’t have, and Wuno was punished to clean the Colosseum for a month.
-
"What is this?"
Suo Wei circled around the plant that had just been brought in and asked the servant next to him in confusion.
The plant was about two meters tall, much like a sunflower, with a few sparse leaves and a large bud on top.
The bud was so large that it bent the stalk, about to break at any moment.
Suo Wei considered himself well-informed but had never actually seen such a thing before.
"Young master, we don’t know either; Miss bought it back."
Chuzheng often bought strange items, and Suo Wei occasionally received a shock.
"Young master, I think it looks like a carnivorous plant."
"Young master, I think so too..."
Truth be told, the more they looked at it, the more it resembled one.
Suo Wei folded his arms, pondered for a moment, and suddenly said, "Go touch it and see if it bites you."
"Young... young master, isn’t this inappropriate?" The person next to him immediately stepped back, "Miss bought it; how can we mess with it?"
"Yes, yes, Miss hates us touching the things she brings back; only you can touch them."
Suo Wei’s eyes curved into a smile, watching them amusedly.
"..." Why did they have to show up now?
"Young master, do I really... really have to?"
"Uh-huh." Suo Wei nodded, "Hurry up."
After some internal struggle, they quickly chose a representative.
The representative, with a miserable face, approached the plant reluctantly.
The flower bud was a light red color, and upon closer inspection, one could see patterns on it, very beautiful, with a faint gleam of light.
The representative shakily extended his hand.
"What are you doing!"
Before the representative’s fingers could touch the bud, a cold voice came from behind.
The representative quickly retracted his hand and turned to look at the newcomer.
"Who allowed you to touch it?" Chuzheng glared at the representative.
The representative immediately turned his head toward Suo Wei, "Young master, young master told me to touch it!! I didn’t want to touch it either!"
Suo Wei: "..." Traitor! Punished to clean the Colosseum!!
When Chuzheng approached, Suo Wei flashed an obedient smile, "You’re back."
"Hmm." Chuzheng motioned with her chin toward the bud, "A gift for you."
"I like it very much." Suo Wei immediately said, "But I like you more."
Chuzheng stroked his soft hair, "Go and see."
"See... see what?"
Chuzheng looked at the bud.
Suo Wei: "..."
"Can I not look?"
Chuzheng firmly said, "No."
Suo Wei: "..."
Suo Wei exhaled and walked to the plant, his fingertips slowly landing on the bud.
No scenario of the bud suddenly opening a bloody maw and biting him occurred.
As soon as he touched it, the bud began to bloom.
It was as if someone had pressed a slow-motion button, with each petal unfolding, deepening in color.
By the end, the interior had turned a deep red.
The final two petals opened, revealing a tiny person inside.
A little person in bright red clothing, with pointed ears, semi-transparent wings on its back, looked blankly at the person in front of it.
"Elf... Elf?!"
"It really is an elf!!"
Elves are rare in the Western Continent because they are too fragile yet beautiful, living secluded lives to avoid malicious intents.
Finding an elf takes a lot of time.
Suo Wei looked at Chuzheng in confusion.
Why gift him an elf?
Chuzheng stepped forward, extended her finger, the elf watched her blankly for a moment, then hugged her finger.
Chuzheng placed the elf in Suo Wei’s palm, "Take good care of him; he’ll be your son now."
"Huh?"
Suo Wei had no idea why Chuzheng gifted him with an elf, but the little elf regarded the first person it saw as a parent, following him around daily.
"Young master, you don’t like the elf?" Wuno asked, curious, as he poured Suo Wei some tea.
"Um...no, I like him very much." Suo Wei cradled the tea, "But why did she give me an elf?"
Wuno hesitated, "Young master, that elf... seems to have the ability to bless." Recently, the young master’s health visibly improved.
"Blessing?" Suo Wei blinked, "Aren’t elves with blessing abilities rare?"
"Yes." Wuno said, "Miss Xue Laiya probably went to great lengths to find him."
Suo Wei exclaimed and happily went to find Chuzheng.
Chuzheng: "..." Not really, I just happened upon it and found it expensive.
Many years later, thinking back to those two, Wuno still felt a sense of emotion.
They were neither formally courteous nor rude, mostly kept to themselves in a cold war, ignoring each other unless necessary.
In a couple of days, they acted as if nothing had happened, in and out together.
In the end, they spent that short life together.
