Chapter 1895: Chapter 1895: Magic Apostle (16)
The cheers from the Colosseum could be heard even in the backstage passage.
But at this moment, everyone’s face was urgent, and some were even trembling.
The boy in the white tailsuit leaned against the wall, flicking the gold coin in his hand into the air with a slight humming sound.
The boy opened his hand to catch the coin, his gaze on the people standing in front of him: "In such a short time, you’ve caused me such a big problem, you’re really something."
The boy’s voice was soft and light, with no hint of anger.
Yet no one standing in front of him could stop trembling.
The air temperature dropped to freezing point.
-
"The young master is very angry, Master Wuno, please go take a look."
As soon as the man returned, he was stopped and urgently pointed in a direction.
He had just been reprimanded, determined not to make any more mistakes, yet within a few hours, he went out and now returned to be told that "the young master is very angry." How could he survive this?
Wuno calmed himself for a moment: "What happened?"
"It’s..."
"Speak up!" Still hesitating at this time.
"It’s... the dragon is missing."
Wuno: "..."
Wuno almost went black before his eyes, leaning against the side to steady himself.
Moments later, as he walked towards the boy, he asked for details: "It was well-contained, how could it disappear? Has the entire Colosseum been searched? When did it go missing? Who was the last guard?"
By the time Wuno saw the boy, he had almost pieced together the cause and effect.
The boy was bent over, holding a person’s chin with one hand, his fair face still carrying a well-behaved smile: "What do I keep you for?"
"Young master!"
Wuno quickly spoke out.
The boy’s fingers had already moved to that person’s neck, exerting slight force with five fingers.
Because of Wuno’s voice, he stopped exerting more force, his long, dense eyelashes slightly lifted as he looked at Wuno.
He asked, "Has my dragon been found?"
Wuno took a deep breath: "Not yet. Young master, the most important thing now is to find the dragon, everything else can be dealt with later."
Regardless of whether it was these people derelict in their duties or for other reasons, the most important thing now is to recover the dragon.
Many people have come today for this dragon.
If we don’t present the dragon in the end, we might offend quite a few people.
The young master’s anger is understandable.
The boy pushed that person away, straightening his body slightly.
Wuno breathed a sigh of relief inside, knowing the young master had heeded.
The boy leaned against the wall, a beautiful arc lifting at the corner of his mouth, his tone lightly and slowly: "Are you still waiting for me to find it?"
Wuno quickly arranged for people to look for it.
The terrain below the Colosseum is complex, with many areas also housing some demonic beasts.
Though every exit is guarded, if it finds a place to hide, searching would be a strenuous task.
Moreover, they still don’t know if the dragon ran off by itself or if someone sneaked in to steal it.
The guards only said they left for a while and returned to find the door open and the dragon gone, without any traces of magic or signs of intrusion.
Everyone in the Colosseum was mobilized, the auctioneer received the message and temporarily changed the rules, slowing down the bidding pace.
The Colosseum’s rules often change on a whim, so no one suspected it.
However, some influential families caught wind of it, though they didn’t know exactly what happened, they all sent people to investigate.
-
Chuzheng took the opportunity to leave her seat, find a door, and slip into the back, avoiding others.
Behind were all passageways and corridors, with occasional rooms tightly locked, and it was unclear what they were for.
Chuzheng walked inside and got dizzy, also needing to avoid people rushing past from time to time.
What are these people running for?
"If we don’t find it, we’re all doomed."
"How are they even handling this, such a mistake can happen."
"Stop complaining, hurry and find it! The sooner the better, no one can withstand the young master’s fury."
"Where on earth did that beast run off to?"
"Has the east area been thoroughly searched?"
"What damn bad luck..."
Chuzheng stood in the shadows, waited for that group of people to pass, and slowly revealed herself, thoughtfully watching the direction they left.
They’re looking for something...
It should be a living thing...
Chuzheng encountered several more groups of people later, hearing fragments of their conversations, she learned they were searching for the dragon which was to be auctioned last.
Chuzheng walked a bit further and vaguely saw a white shadow rushing through the passage ahead.
Chuzheng just wanted to pursue but urgent footsteps sounded from the other direction, and footsteps came from the direction where the white shadow had passed.
With wolves in front and tigers behind, standing here would surely lead to being seen by both sides.
Chuzheng noticed a slightly ajar door in her peripheral vision, slipped in, and shut the door.
Once the door was shut, no sounds from outside could be heard.
Luckily, the door had a transparent observation window, allowing a view of the outside situation.
The two teams met in the corridor, exchanged a few sentences, and hurriedly left again.
Chuzheng held the doorknob, just about to step out, when she inexplicably felt warm air blown on her back.
"..."
Chuzheng swiftly turned around to see a creature much taller than her standing behind, looking down at her.
Blood-red eyes, like devils opening their eyes in hell.
With the faint light from outside, Chuzheng saw the creature’s general outline.
Huge bat-like wings folded, four-legged, a lion-like body but covered with hard scale armor, and a long tail with spikes.
Western dragons look different from Eastern dragons.
This was Chuzheng’s first thought.
Then she took a step back against the door.
Scared me to death!!
The dragon’s massive head lowered further, its pupils locked onto her, seemingly assessing whether she was a threat.
Chuzheng: "..."
If I say I’m just passing by, would you believe me?
Why are you staring at me like that!
-
Rumble—
A violent sound came from deep within the passage, making the boy speaking with Wuno suddenly turn his head towards it.
The boy’s beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, a pale golden shimmer flashing in his pupils, and then his figure blurred and disappeared from his spot.
Wuno realized and immediately gave chase.
In the corridor, rubble was scattered everywhere, the dragon lay in a disheveled heap, its wings twisted awkwardly on its back.
Opposite the dragon, Chuzheng patted off the dust and stood up, first checking around to ensure no one saw what had just happened, feeling relieved.
The boss image must be maintained!
The dragon was trapped on the ground, its pupils filled with rage as it opened its mouth to spew a flame at her.
This flame was nothing like Elsa’s little teases, Chuzheng could feel the scorching temperature and lethality.
Just as Chuzheng was raising her hand, there was a sudden darkness in front of her, a hem embroidered with golden patterns swept through the air, and the boy’s figure slowly descended from above.
The flame was blocked by the boy, Chuzheng didn’t see how it disappeared, only heard the boy’s voice with a hint of laughter: "You’re really not a good child, you’ll have to be punished."
