Chapter 1890: Chapter 1890: Magic Apostle (11)

The young man gave Chuzheng an invitation, which can be considered a pass to the black market.

The date on the invitation is three days later, so she can’t enter now.

Alice was worried about her sister but had no solution, and she bid farewell to Chuzheng with a heavy heart.

-

Chuzheng returned to the manor, where Elsa was sitting with a few female friends, drinking tea and eating snacks.

Elsa was wearing a light pink, palace-style long dress and holding a small fan, gently waving it.

Sitting in the splendid hall that resembled a palace, every move of Elsa exuded the elegance and grace unique to a noble lady.

Chuzheng had to pass through this place to get to her room.

As soon as she entered, she heard a girl’s envious voice, "Elsa, this dress looks so beautiful. Where did you buy it?"

"This wasn’t bought," Elsa said proudly, lifting her chin. "My father gave it to me. It’s a dress personally enchanted with a Magic Array by Master Ritchie."

"Oh my god!"

"Really? I thought the material looked familiar; so it was Master Ritchie’s work."

"I’m so envious..."

The girls’ admiration and exclamations put Elsa on a pedestal.

Chuzheng: "..."

Bastard is really something.

Chuzheng didn’t want to experience the awkward scene that was about to unfold, so she decided to slip away.

"Xue Laiya!"

Against her wishes, someone called out to her.

The fact that Chuzheng was Charles’s stepdaughter was well-known in the academy, and since Maggie got her status due to being the maid, in the eyes of those nobles, she was naturally considered an unpresentable character, incomparable to Elsa.

"Xue Laiya, why are you in such a hurry to go upstairs?" The speaker was a noble lady sitting to Elsa’s left, with well-defined features and a bit of baby fat.

Elsa: "..."

Why did you have to call her!!

Elsa hadn’t gotten the Magic Scroll back yet and didn’t want to provoke Chuzheng.

Yet, she hadn’t expected her friend to speak up and call out to her.

But thinking back, it was always like this...

Whenever she had something good, as soon as Xue Laiya appeared, her friends would call her over, and they’d humiliate and mock her.

This was almost their regular game.

Elsa swallowed nervously, and invited her friends, "Dinner should be ready. Let’s go have dinner."

If she made her angry, what if she showed them the Magic Scroll?

Absolutely not!

The girl with baby fat looked at Elsa curiously, "Isn’t Xue Laiya coming with us?"

"No! She’s not coming with us!!"

"..."

Elsa’s reaction was a bit intense, and everyone was stunned.

But everyone automatically understood that Elsa disdained eating at the same table as Chuzheng.

Elsa dragged the group away.

The girl with baby fat was puzzled, "Elsa, why do you seem to be avoiding Xue Laiya lately? And what about her recent changes?"

Elsa: "..."

How the hell would I know why she’s changed.

Before Elsa and her friends could leave the hall, the manor’s butler came in with a few people, "Miss Elsa, your clothes have arrived. Should they be sent to the wardrobe or directly to your room?"

Elsa instinctively replied, "I didn’t buy any clothes."

"Magical Praise!"

Someone exclaimed, and two voices overlapped.

Elsa looked over to that side; the mark on the box was very obvious.

Magical Praise, a well-known store across the Western Continent, belonged to the Elvish Family.

They produced exquisitely crafted magical garments, each made by a master, ensuring both grandeur and powerful effects.

However, correspondingly... they were expensive.

Elsa also had some, but those were gifts from her father when she entered the academy.

She couldn’t bear to wear them on ordinary days.

And she couldn’t afford them herself.

While Elsa remained cold, one of the girls excitedly asked, "Elsa, did you buy clothes from them?"

"I..."

Could it be a surprise from Father?

But that can’t be right.

Why would Father give me such a gift for no reason?

The more Elsa thought about it, the more it seemed wrong. She calmly chose not to accept the girls’ gifts but walked over instead, and her expression turned ugly when she saw the name on the box.

Xue Laiya Charles.

She bought it?

Where did she get the money!!

Elsa almost wanted to carve these words on her forehead, but with those friends behind her, she couldn’t show anything.

"It’s not mine," Elsa said in a low voice, annoyed, and instructed the butler, "Look carefully next time and don’t make a joke."

The scribbled booklet had covered the ’Xue Laiya’ on the box. The butler saw the ’Charles’ at the end and didn’t pay attention to the name in front because only their eldest daughter could afford such things, in the butler’s mind.

But it turned out it wasn’t the eldest daughter’s.

"I’m sorry, Miss Elsa..."

Elsa didn’t want to stay longer and turned to leave, but the friends behind couldn’t wait any longer and approached.

Then they saw the name on the box.

"Charles Xue Laiya? Huh..."

The air suddenly went silent.

After a while, someone glanced towards Chuzheng not far away.

What’s going on?

Wasn’t this meant for Elsa?

Xue Laiya? The oil bottle brought by the stepmother? Did they see it wrong?

Elsa’s cheeks felt a burning heat.

This must be intentional!!

Knowing her father had gifted her a new dress, she brought clothes from Magical Praise, let people around her see, and deliberately embarrassed her.

The clothes she wore, which were considered top-notch, couldn’t compare to those from Magical Praise.

Ahhhhh, she wanted to strangle that little brat!!

Elsa felt her friends looking at her strangely, further fueling her anger and humiliation.

"Elsa... what... what’s going on?" Did Elsa lose favor? Is the stepdaughter taking over?

"Could it be that they got the name wrong?"

Such things would never have a wrong name.

Elsa cursed inwardly, still maintaining the elegance of a noble lady on her face, forcing a smile, "I don’t know either. Why don’t you go ask Xue Laiya?"

If Xue Laiya that lunatic doesn’t beat you up.

The friends looked towards Chuzheng’s direction.

The person who was just standing there was now nowhere to be seen.

"..." Damn! When did she disappear?

-

Elsa had no mood left to have dinner with the group of friends, probably marking the end of their sisterly affection.

After sending off those curious and bewildered friends, Elsa went upstairs in a few brisk steps, raising her hand to knock on the door.

No way!

The handle was still in her hand.

Elsa’s hand stopped mid-air.

She turned and went back to her room, but shortly returned, paced around Chuzheng’s room for a while, then left.

Chuzheng, hearing Elsa’s commotion, waited until she left, then cautiously opened her door.

There was no trap outside, but there was a piece of paper stuck on the door.

— Don’t go too far!!!!!!!!!!

The exclamation marks fully conveyed Elsa’s fury.

What the hell, I thought you were doing something outside, and you just stuck this paper on my door? Are you trying to be funny?
