Chapter 292: Volume 7 Chapter 27: Calculation

Volume 7 Chapter 27: Calculation

However, the surging magical storm that had just begun suddenly came to a halt.

"...Why?" Grace stared at the boy before her.

"Sorry, Grace," the boy said, spreading his hands. "Your abilities exceeded my expectations, and I can’t guarantee I can subdue you."

Behind Grace, unbeknownst to her, stood a figure.

A man clad in diamond armor, tall and imposing, held a sword embedded with a [Command Block]. His eyes glowed a ghastly white.

The [Command Block] emitted a faint light as he nonchalantly raised the sword, pointing it lightly toward Grace’s back.

"NoAI," Alwin spoke. Grace collapsed powerlessly.

Now, atop the Heavenly Ladder, only two figures and the ominous purple-black gate frame remained.

"Your teleportation was a little late." Alwin said, his face breaking into a wide, arrogant grin.

"As you can see, I was slightly delayed," the boy replied, his expression devoid of any humor. He took a few steps forward, positioning himself between Alwin and Grace.

"Each of these creations is fascinating, aren’t they? And this one? An Enderman? I sense... a hint of the Ender Dragon’s essence mixed in," Alwin remarked, seemingly unbothered by the boy’s cold tone.

Had this body not originally been his, achieving ’assimilation’ through mere contact would have been impossible. But once his true form descended, none of this would matter.

The boy, however, only chuckled at Alwin’s musings.

"Indeed, they always surprise me. But don’t touch her," he said, casting a glance at Grace, who lay unconscious on the ground. His left eye flickered with a cold white glow. "Let’s proceed with what needs to be done."

With that, the boy approached the purple gate. He pulled out a flint and steel, striking it to create sparks. A strange ripple emanated from the gate, enveloping it in a membrane of eerie purple energy.

The gate transformed into what resembled a massive purple maw. Through the shimmering surface, one could vaguely see a fiery abyss on the other side. Mournful, chilling wails echoed from the depths.

Suddenly, the hazy image was obscured, as though something on the other side blocked the view. Two white, piercing lights emerged, carrying a chilling aura that sent shivers down the spine.

"Body... vessel... at last... at long last..." A chaotic voice resonated in the boy’s mind.

Alwin’s grin widened, while the boy’s expression grew darker.

Yes, all of this was to create a better world.

"Let’s begin," the boy said, no longer hesitating.

"Let’s," Alwin replied, raising his holy sword. The [Command Block] began to disintegrate, splitting into six small orbs of different colors that hovered around the portal.

"Flame, Water, Forest, Earth, Darkness—five primordial elements," Alwin muttered, twirling his sword. The entire tower began to quake, and the once-bright surroundings flickered erratically.

The glow of the [Command Block] pulsed and drove the process, summoning fierce winds that converged before being wholly absorbed.

A small, pulsating green orb appeared in Alwin’s hand.

"And then, Wind. Finally..." The holy sword emitted a radiant white light, as light-elemental magic condensed into another orb. "Light."

The two newly-formed orbs were cast into the array of five others.

The seven primordial orbs gathered, orbiting in a coordinated pattern. Each emitted a beam of light that struck the portal, producing a sharp crack that rang in the boy’s ears.

The sound was like glass shattering—clear yet deafening, disorienting all who heard it.

In that instant, the "entity" on the other side of the portal surged forward as a beam of light, slamming directly into the boy’s body.

Outside the tower, the once-calm sky darkened abruptly. Thunder roared as storm clouds gathered. Elves, regrouping in the ruined town, all turned to gaze at the sacred tower standing at the city’s edge.

The earth trembled beneath them.

Inside the tower, the boy let out a heart-wrenching scream. Floating mid-air, his body convulsed as blinding white light erupted from his eyes, throat, and limbs.

Seven-colored light streaked across the tower’s dim interior, accompanied by ghostly wails and shrieks that reverberated in a cacophony of despair.

Pinned to the ground by golden bricks and unable to move, Melon felt an overwhelming sense of pressure suddenly descend upon her. For a brief moment, she could not even breathe.

This was far more terrifying than anything she had ever faced before—the power to control creation and destruction at will.

Even against Lori Aivett or the three-headed Ashura in the Flame Labyrinth, she had been able to contribute something, no matter how small. But now...

Could she even win against such a being?

Master...

"Finally... finally..." The boy’s expression twisted into something grotesque, the ghastly white glow in his eyes gradually stabilizing. When he spoke, his voice was chaotic and horrifying.

His true form had descended, with full authority in hand.

He had waited far too long for this moment. Whether it was this power or this body, all of it felt so nostalgic.

He was no longer the boy—he was Herobrine.

Herobrine stretched out a hand, casually waving it. The glowing orbs that had been floating in the air responded to his command, drifting to his side and orbiting him.

"Should I merge into you now?" asked Alwin, standing nearby and looking up at the levitating Herobrine.

"Strike me," Herobrine replied, narrowing his glowing eyes.

Alwin chuckled darkly at the command, raising his holy sword and slashing it toward Herobrine. With a sharp clang, Herobrine effortlessly blocked the strike with his slender arm.

Herobrine laughed. This invulnerable body—it had been far too long since he had last felt this.

"Now, let the merging begin," Herobrine said coldly.

Alwin lowered his head in response, exhaling a wisp of white smoke. Within the smoke, a faint face with hollow white eyes could be seen.

The smoke, trailing a long tail, began to drift toward Herobrine. But at that moment, one of the white orbs floating around Herobrine suddenly emitted a blinding light.

Time seemed to freeze, as though someone had pressed a pause button on the entire scene.

Then, as if the rewind button had been pressed, the surroundings began to reverse.

...

...

...

The seven orbs hovered in the air, each projecting a beam of light onto the portal. A sharp cracking sound rang in the boy’s ears—clear like glass shattering yet deafening enough to disorient him.

At that moment, the "thing" on the other side of the portal surged out as a beam of light, rushing toward the boy. However, one of the white orbs hovering nearby suddenly exploded!

This triggered a chain reaction, causing the remaining six orbs to detonate as well, blasting the boy backward.

The entity that had emerged from the portal writhed like mist, trembling violently. Chains shot out from the portal, lashing at the mist-like form.

Roars and wails erupted as the entity was battered, its form beginning to dissipate. At the same time, a powerful suction force centered on the portal began to pull everything nearby toward it. Dust and debris flew wildly, obscuring the scene.

"No... what is this...?" Alwin’s glowing white eyes widened in disbelief. "It wasn’t supposed to be like this!"

A flood of fragmented memories rushed into his mind, and he immediately understood what was happening.

Events from the past were being rewritten!

Suddenly, Alwin felt a chilling presence behind him.

Unnoticed until now, a figure that had not existed moments ago stood there.

The figure was short and hunched, with unkempt white hair. Even the signature long ears of the elves were missing one.

Yet this elder exuded an incomparable aura of power. In his hands, two blades—one long and one short—shone with the unique brilliance of Elf Weapon.

The legendary elf blessed with a second elf weapon: a Vassal of The Wind.

Alwin spun around, but all he saw was a flash of a blade aimed at his abdomen. Though the blade couldn’t pierce his armor, it sent him hurtling toward the portal.

The mist-like spirit, weakened by the chains’ relentless assault, let out a piercing shriek and latched onto Alwin, who had fallen near the portal. The two merged into one.

The chains that had been striking the spirit did not relent but shifted their focus to Alwin. They bound his limbs and began to drag him toward the portal.

Alwin drew the holy sword from his back, intending to strike back, but his strength suddenly drained away, and he stumbled to his knees.

He could feel his body rapidly weakening, and even the holy radiance of the sword Oathkeeper began to fade.

The power of the Vassal of The Light was being extracted!

"Vantinom! It’s you!" Alwin roared, his realization dawning upon him.

No wonder—no wonder everything in this world had gone so smoothly for him. He hadn’t expected to be outmaneuvered by the divine forces of this land—!

From the very beginning, he had been manipulated—!

"This is impossible! Impossible—!" Alwin’s glowing white eyes flickered as his expression contorted with rage. But in his weakened state, he couldn’t break free from the chains.

In the end, his furious roar faded into the abyss beyond the portal, which collapsed moments later.

Amidst the lingering smoke and dust, the boy lay face down on the ground, his vision growing increasingly blurred.

Was that... the sound of a bird chirping...?
