Chapter 35: "Try replicating that..."
Unfortunately,it seemed that the beasts had no interest in attacking him.
"It is already dark and yet they have not returned..."
"Big brother and brother Hu will be here soon..."
The young woman was sited by the fire,she had already prepared their dinner,gravy and roasted beef with a serving of smashed potatoes and vegetables. As for dessert,she had chopped up an assortment of fruits and swuezzed some berry juice.
"Hmmh...!"
The young woman grunted. They had been waiting for close to two hours,and she was getting tired and extremely hungry.
"I think we should wait a little bit longer for big brother..."
The little boy suggested as she saw the young woman reach out and picked a piece of toasted meat. His eyes followed the movement of her slim hand all the way to her mouth,and his little stomach grumbled. And he to was tempted.
"It is rude to start a meal without everyone present..."
Leo’s voice came from the entrance,as the torch light casted shadows around him.
"Big brother...!"
The little boy was happy,now they could eat. As for the young woman,she glared at Leo,went on chewing the piece of meat,swallowed and helped herself to two more.
"This girl..."
Leo mentally shook his head as he stepped into the hideout. He decided that the best way to deal with this arrogant girl was by assuming her existence.
"Big brother where is brother Hu..."
The little boy inquired on Hu’s whereabouts,as he had noticed that Hu was not accompanying Leo.
"Brother Hu is back at the clearing with Uncle Fort..."
Leo informed as he stretched his palm over the improvised stone table and stored everything in his inventory.
"We are going back to the clearing..."
Leo informed the two,as he handed the boy some leftover poached eggs from his lunch. The boy had a big smile on as he quickly cracked one egg and peeled the shell of.
"Thank you big brother..."
"Put out the fire..."
The young woman begrudgingly did as ordered. Though she was stubborn,she could not go against Leo’s orders. Unknowingly to her and the rest of Leo’s system issued summons, including Leo. The system had messed up the summons brains, ensuring that all system issued summons are a hundred percent royal to Leo.
The party of three headed back to the clearing.
"Wow...!"
Gemini and the young woman were awed by the massive change and all the piles of resources and foodstuffs scattered everywhere.
"This is Fort..."
Leo introduced the short advanced ranked blacksmith to the two.
"And this is Gemini and Miss Fortuna..."
Leo pointed at the two,before walking up to a pile of woods and arranged them into a table setting, before retrieving all the food from the inventory.
"Welcome..."
Thanks to the system,the food was still hot.
Miss Fortuna had prepared quite a lot of food, enough for two servings.
"Not bad..."
The middle aged man praised the cooking after they all had their fill.
"What wrong...?"
The middle aged man touched his face. The three young men at the improvised table gave him a weird look.
"Hmm...!"
The young woman grunted as she angrily glared at the three young men.
"What...?"
The middle aged man looked towards Hu. He had a wronged look on his face,as he did not understand what wrong he had done or uttered. The three young men simultaneously sighed,each lost in his own thoughts.
"How you say this is not bad...?"
Leo wondered,if he had not been hungry,he would have thrown away the meal and cooked something for himself. The meat was unevenly roasted,the gravy had uncooked limbs and its texture was not consistent,the vegetables had no oil,or taste. As for the juice,Leo had only taken a sip,and the rest was left untouched.
As for Gemini,he was used to Leo’s cooking,and Miss Fortuna’s cooking could not be compared to Leo’s cooking. One was a master chef , while the other was a child pretending to be a chef.
"Young lord’s meal tasted way better than whatever this is..."
Hu had thought. Though he had only had one meal prepared by Leo,it was enough for him to look down on the young woman’s cooking. As for the middle aged man,he had only completed the meal out of courtesy,and being new and older than everyone else,he had to create a positive impression.
"Tonight is a long night..."
Leo said as he gunnered everyone’s attention.
"You will be in charge of keeping the fires alive..."
Leo instructed the young woman. She only gave him a nod in acknowledgement.
"Something is wrong with her head..."
Leo thought as he turned towards Hu and Fort.
Hu and Fort had lit five fires,four at equal distance around the original clearing perimeter,and one close to centre. As for the edible stuffs,they had moved them to the centre.
"You two are to establish a fence around the original clearing by piling up the wood together..."
"As you command young lord..."
The two said as they left to carry out Leo’s orders.
"Come with me..."
Leo and Gemini headed for the little fire where he had left the iron ores. They had now turned into a thick like slag that flowed slowly.
"Try replicating that..."
Leo said as he placed thirty iron ores at Gemini’s feet.
The little boy looked at the hot iron slag and stretched out his hand over the fire, though he kept a distance of less than a couple of centimeters. The boy’s face tightened from the heat. This fire was hot enough to as to smelt iron ores.
Unlike the five big fires that lit the clearing,this small fire was a combination of both wood and coal.
"He really can endure..."
Leo praised the little boy,as he watched him place his other arm over he pile of iron ores,and five minutes later,ten of the iron ores turned into slags. Leo was awed, though he had expected this to happen,he was not sure it would really work. Bug his awe lasted for a moment,as he quickly scooped the slag into the anvil mold filling it up,and the remaining one into the hammer head mold.
