Chapter 30: Target: ??? Tower

"Women and jewelry...!"

Leo grunted,as he retreived a hundred copper coins from his inventory. He decided to buy off the sect token, though the amount he was offering was a steal compared to the sect tokens value.

"I will give you a hundred copper coins..."

"Five hundred..."

The young woman was quick to say, though the jade was her only jewelry, coins mattered more. With lots of coins, she could get herself a new dress and some jewelry,as well as enough capital to start her own potion shop.

"Five hundred...!"

Leo exclaimed.

"Why not rob me instead...?"

He said as he took out the sect token from the inventory and put on struggling look. It looked as if he was debating on wether to keep the jade or pay for it.

"Three hundred copper coins and nothing less..."

The young woman adjusted her initial price, fearing that Leo would return the jade.

"Two hundred and fifty,final offer..."

Leo’s tone sounded hurt.

"Deal..."

The young woman begrudgingly agreed,as she stretched out her palm. Leo counted out two hundred and fifty copper coins and handed them over. The young woman recounted the coins twice as she stared down on Leo for shortchanging her.

As for Leo,he cared less of what the young woman thought of him. In his mind,he was already debating on wether to activate the jade or not,but after considering his work load and current strength,he opted to wait.

"Young lord..."

Hu’s voice cut through Leo’s thought. On his hand was a small stone curved tower, about three inches tall, with a cone shaped roof. This small tower was pitch dark with a slight opening at the bottom.

"Damn...!"

"Another good thing..."

Leo had a grin as he saw the small tower.

"Where did you get that from...?"

"Before young lord summoned me,I had been held captive by these bandits that had raided out town..."

Hu explained.

"Town...!"

Leo thought.

The young woman came from a village,Hu came from a town, and it seems that both were aware that they had been summoned by Leo,but as of questioning how and why, they seemed to not care.

"Luckily for me,I managed to break through my cage and into the treasury after activating my ability..."

"It was there that I picked up this tower, but before I could escape,I was surrounded and was about to be killed..."

Hu said as his eyes turned red in rage.

"If it was not for young lord summoning me,I could have died..."

Hu’s tone was filled with respect and gratitude.

"That explains why he was so overwhelmed when summoned..."

Leo thought as he received the small tower.

"If it is something good, young lord can have it as my token of gratitude..."

Hu said with a bow. As for the young woman, she coldly grunted. By giving the small tower to Leo without asking for anything in return made her look greedy and ungrateful.

"Inspect..."

System Alert: You have activated Inspect.

Inspect

Target: ??? Tower

Tier: ??? (Unidentified Relic)

Type: Spatial Structure

Description

An ancient tower of unknown origin, despite its modest size, the structure does not obey normal spatial laws. Upon activation, the tower reveals an internal structure far greater than its external form suggests

Special Features.

Adaptive Difficulty:

The tower adjusts to the user’s strength. Over-leveling external to the tower reduces reward quality.

Energy Saturation:

All training floors contain dense ambient energy, accelerating growth and skill mastery.

Time Dilation (Minor):

Time flows slightly slower inside. Extended training sessions result in less real-world time passing.

Resource Recycling:

Defeated entities dissolve into energy, which the tower reuses to sustain itself.

The tower consists of twelve floors, each existing within its own stabilized space.

Floors 1–3: Common Chambers

These floors act as safe zones, areas designed for preparation, rest, and resource management.

First Floor (300 ft diameter):

The largest chamber. A vast circular hall with high ceilings and soft ambient light. This floor functions as a central hub, suitable for storage, rest, and basic crafting.

The atmosphere naturally restores stamina and focus over time. Ideal for long-term occupation.

Second Floor (200 ft diameter):

A quieter, more refined space.

This chamber enhances mental clarity and perception, making it suitable for studying manuals, planning strategies, or refining techniques. Time perception here feels slightly slowed.

Third Floor (100 ft diameter):

A compact but highly concentrated environment. Energy density is noticeably higher. This floor passively boosts skill comprehension and minor regeneration, making it optimal for meditation and preparation before combat.

Floors 4–12: Training Grounds

The remaining nine floors serve as combat and progression zones.

Each floor contains a summoning array, an ancient construct embedded into the very fabric of the tower. These arrays generate enemies based on the user’s current level, skill set, and progression.

Enemies range from beasts, humanoid opponents, and rare entities

Difficulty scales dynamically with the user

No two encounters are exactly the same

Combat System Within the Tower:

Upon entering a training floor, the array activates automatically

Enemies will spawn in waves or as single elite targets

Clearing a floor requires defeating all generated entities

Failure Conditions:

If Health reaches zero, user is forcibly ejected to Floor 1

No permanent death detected within tower space

Reward System:

Defeating enemies grants rewards inline to the challengers growth system.

Rewards Include:

Experience Points (XP) and Copper Coins

Herbs & Materials (based on enemy type)

Potion Ingredients

Potions

Alchemy Recipes

Pills

Skill Fragments

Chests

System issued summoning jade

Occasionally, clearing floors may yield:

Hidden rewards

Rare herb seeds

Manuals

Techniques

Level boost card

Restrictions

External companions: Not permitted (currently locked, bind and clear floor four and five to gain access tokens)

Equipment durability: Reduced wear within tower

Item loss: None upon defeat

"Heavens...!"

Leo could only mentally exclaim after going through the unknown towers details.

"This is way more broken..."

He thought as he weighed the small palm size tower.

"With this much luck,am only afraid that it would not last long...!"

"And more summoning jades..."
