"Almost full..."

Leo went through the inventory twice before retrieving the two common chest. The inventory had a total of twenty-five slots each with a stacking capacity of ten items of similar quality.

"A couple more minutes and you will be ready..."

Leo thought as he turned the meat, adding a couple more dry roots to the fire,by now,it was already getting dark.

"These will have to do..."

Leo had retrieved five potatoes from his inventory,he moved aside some burning roots and charcoal. On the hot ash,he laid the five fist sized potatoes that he had harvested near the stream, and covered them with hot ash and charcoal to bake.

Tonight,he planned on having roasted meat and some crudely baked potatoes. As for his accompanying drink,he took out two bunches of red berries, crushed them and let their juice sip into the half empty small jar of water.

Unlike the purple berries that were sour, the red berries were sweet and had a distinctive flowery scent. Mixing the crushed red berries in water resulted in some kind of juice,at first taste, the sweetness of the berries had been diluted by the water. Unsatisfied,Leo crushed two more bunches of red berries.

The new juice did not just meet his sweet tooth expectations but also had the flowery scent that made his mind relax.

With the food cooking and the juice ready,Leo laid on the ground as he stared at the ceiling made of interconnected network of roots. Some small, some big and some humongous.

"At least tonight I will have a roof over my head, and not sleep on some tree like a bird..."

Leo thought as he later on giggled as he found his thought a little bit ironical. Though he had a roof over his head,he was still spending the night on a tree, but unlike the previous two nights,he would be spending it under the tree and not on its branches.

"Luckily I found no traces of predators around..."

System Alert: Would you like to open the common chest...

"Open..."

Leo ordered.

System Alert: You have opened a common chest.

Gain:

Wood × a hundred

Stone × fifty

Clay × ten baskets

Iron Ore × ten

Hide × ten

Grain × one sack

Vegetables × five basket

"What in heavens name is this..."

Leo cursed as the lair filled up with everything from the common chest.

There ten piles of ten pieces of wood stack together, well cut and of same length. Probably six foot long and half a foot thick.

"Damn...!"

Leo cursed as he stood to inspect the piles of items that had appeared from thin air.

"How did those fit in that...!"

As for the stones, these were stack together. Each was cut into a perfect cuboid, measuring a foot long and half a foot thick. As for the clay,it was in small baskets woven of some kind of grass, probably papyrus reeds, and still reeked of river water.

The ten iron ores were piled together, next to the ten rolls of hide and the woven sack of grain.

As for the five baskets of vegetables, they appeared close to the fire pit,and Leo had to quickly move them before the dry reeds could catch fire.

"Luckily I only opened one of them..."

Leo thought as he eyed the open common chest.

System Alert: You have activated Inspect..

Inspect

Target: Wooden Chest

Rank: Common

Used for storage

"A common chest now..."

Leo murmured as he inspected the other common chest that he had yet to open

System Alert: You have activated Inspect..

Inspect

Target: Spatial Wooden Chest

Rank: Common

Contain resources and food stuffs.

"So the chest looses its spatial ability after opening and turns into a normal chest...

Leo deduced, before storing the unlocked common chest back in his inventory.

"Mmmm...."

"The meat is ready..."

Leo licked his lips as he placed the hot sizzling pieces of meat on his makeshift stone table. The five potatoes were dug out, carefully pealed and set beside the now cooling meat.

"I really do need utensils..."

Leo sighed as he used his fingers to tear of some roasted meat.

"Hot but tasty..."

The sourness of the purple berries, though not evenly spread, had sipped into the meat, giving it a mild salty taste with a touch of sourness.

As for the potatoes, they were as bald as taste could be.

For half an hour,Leo enjoyed his meal, but he had overestimated his appetite. As a twelve year old, there was a limit to how much his stomach could hold.

"Leftovers..."

He stared at the two baked potatoes and the untouched piece of meat as a belch escaped him. Though the food was calling at him,his stomach had stretched to its limits.

"Thank you little piglets for the sumptuous meal ..."

Leo genuinely thanked the spirits of the long dead piglets before storing the leftovers in the now ordinary common chest and closing the lid.

"It seems that you will be my pantry for the night..."

Though he had not found no traces of predators around,Leo took some security measures. The lair had only one entrance. He carried,or rather dragged several pieces of wood to the entrance and piled them together, closing off the entrance.

He also ensured that there were no big gabs on the network of roots, and whenever he found one,he would move the roots around it,covering it up.

By the time he was done,it was already dark, darker than usual, thanks to the forest canopy and the fact that he was residing under a tree.
