Chapter 467: Chapter 239: A Leisurely Day in the Mobile Castle [Double-Length]

"Mm, I’ve gone to sleep."

"Then I’ll turn off the lights."

"Go ahead."

"Asrada, we’re going to sleep."

"Okay, Master. I’ve turned off all the lights, set all appliances to silent mode. Wish you both sweet dreams."

It’s late at night, only the barely audible sound of the warm breeze remains, like the breath of the Night Goddess.

A peaceful night’s sleep.

...

Liu Li woke up early in the morning.

She opened her eyes, her head still feeling a bit dizzy.

Suddenly realizing something, ah yes, she and Li Younan were already on the road of Highway 318.

At the moment her mind rebooted, she finally reacted. Then a spontaneous joy arose in her heart.

She turned over, opened a crack in the blackout curtains, and peeked outside; it was already bright outside.

She then gently pushed open a small gap in the window, greedily breathing in the cool air outside, which made her smile involuntarily.

She turned over and lay comfortably, thinking that it might still be early; after she gets up, Li Younan might still be asleep. She would go fry a couple of eggs so that breakfast would be ready when he wakes.

Thinking of that scene, she felt a wave of self-moved emotion.

As soon as the idea came to her, she acted upon it.

But before that, she needed to confirm his whereabouts.

Liu Li stealthily pulled apart the privacy curtain a little, peeked outside, and was momentarily stunned.

She saw that the sofa bed had already turned back into a sofa, and Li Younan was nowhere to be found.

Liu Li thought she had woken up earlier, but it seems he got up even earlier.

Liu Li changed into her home clothes, got out of bed, and raised the adjustable bed to its highest point.

She really liked wearing this set of home apparel, rabbit theme, fluffy, loose, comfortable, and very cute too.

She wasn’t mentally prepared to leave the motorhome yet, so she intended to wear home clothes as her main attire for quite some time.

She had two sets of such attire to interchange.

This place was like her home.

She guessed Li Younan must have gone out for a walk.

Does this guy actually go for morning exercises like elderly folks do?

Thinking of this, Liu Li went to freshen up.

In the mirror, with the toothbrush in her mouth, she thought of the cartoons from her childhood.

She recalled watching "Howl’s Moving Castle" as a child, where the doors opened to a new place.

And now, isn’t this another kind of Howl’s Moving Castle?

At this moment, Li Younan came in from outside, carrying two bowls of fried egg noodles.

Prepared at the external cooking station.

To Li Younan, the outside cooking station was indeed a grand kitchen, equipped with more powerful fire power, larger stove, and a cutting board more accommodating to his culinary flair.

After they had eaten, they were ready to officially set out; today was the first day of their departure.

This was the base camp for Highway 318, also its starting point, marked on the ground with a gigantic 318 symbol.

Many self-driving travelers arriving here would ceremonially take a photo, Li Younan and Liu Li did the same.

Liu Li controlled the drone to fly up, capturing the scene of their vehicle preparing to depart on the mark, the camera pulled back, the car heading into the distance.

...

From here the journey transitioned to the national highway; today’s destination was via Tianquan to Luding, and depending on the situation, onwards to Kangding.

For deciding where to stop, except for certain places with system task check-in points, Li Younan’s approach was to play it by ear, without a definite plan on where to stay.

From Ya’an to Kangding, the altitude began to rise rapidly, but it was still within an acceptable range.

Since Li Younan’s car was a large vehicle, its height was comparable to that of a regular truck, so driving on such national highways wouldn’t be fast.

While driving, Li Younan occasionally glanced at the nearby Liu Li to check her state, but nothing unexpected occurred.

They took a temporary pause in Tianquan, rested for a while, but since the diesel generator was full of gasoline and the water tank was full, they didn’t linger long and resumed their journey.

After driving for over an hour, Liu Li fell asleep in her seat.

Highway 318 being a national highway, unpredictable factors frequently occurred; now in March, snow lay on the road, leading to what was feared most—traffic jam right before reaching Luding.

...

The car came to a complete stop due to the jam, and what’s even more absurd was seeing neither the end of the traffic jam ahead nor incoming cars on the opposite end.

The cause of the jam was behind a large winding curve.

However, for Li Younan, a traffic jam wasn’t a big deal; this kind of road would always get cleared at some point... being parked on the road wasn’t essentially different from parking elsewhere.

Many large trucks were stranded here, and even more so small self-driving passenger cars like theirs.

If stuck here for long, the worst outcome would simply be extending their rest period.

With a motorhome at hand, leisure was assured for them.

And Liu Li didn’t mind being stuck here either; seeing there was no sign of a clear path anytime soon, she went to the back living area to brew some coffee.

What followed was Li Younan sitting in the driver’s seat while Liu Li brought freshly brewed coffee from the back, pouring them each a cup, sitting in the driver’s cabin, sipping coffee and leisurely watching the exterior scenery.

Admittedly, the scenery when stuck on the road wasn’t necessarily great, but Dadu River being beside the road offered a spectacular view of the rushing water.
