"There is nothing to try." Elias knew more than anyone present about his own Soul Beast. "I have failed to acquire one."

He had killed every Soul Beast that he had come across. Even if he wanted to take a Soul Beast, he didn’t even have the Soul Bead to do it. In his eyes, the Professor was simply trying to tease him.

"In that case, can you tell me who she is?" The Professor clapped her hands, and the door opened once more.

With light footsteps, someone stepped inside the room. The sound of chains clanking made Elias raise his head.

Elias stood up the moment he caught a glimpse of the woman who had entered. Her hands were tied behind her back with Celestial Chains that restricted her abilities.

"What is she doing here?"

"It looks like you recognise her." The Professor tapped the table, and the ring started floating before Elias. "Do you still want to say that you don’t have a Soul Beast?"

"But she is not my Soul-" Elias subconsciously said, only to go silent before completing his sentence.

’He wouldn’t do something so useless for no reason at all. Is there truly a possibility that she might be...?’

He quickly wore the ring on his finger, and tried to summon Lyra back. To his disbelief, it worked. Lyra was actually transferred to the space inside the ring, something that only the Master of the Soul Beast could do.

His expressions grew worse with each passing second as he realized where the Soul Beast was actually dropped. Out of all places, it has to be with Lyra who even consumed it.

"Next time, don’t abandon your Soul Beast just because you’re ashamed of her." Grey reminded Elias, completely misunderstanding the reason for Lyra not being with Elias.

He stepped back and shifted his focus back to the entire class. Experience more content on Freewebnovel

"Your Soul Beasts are your weapons, but they are also your partners. If they die, then you would not just lose your weapons, but also a part of your soul talent. So all of you, better protect your Soul Beasts!"

"Don’t be like a certain someone who left his Soul Beast to die." His words were aimed at Elias, even though he didn’t look at the boy anymore.

Elias was still looking at the ring on his finger, unable to believe that he actually had a Soul Beast now. Even if it was the lowest grade of Soul Beast, or an incomplete beast, he didn’t care about it.

He didn’t need the strength of a Soul Beast to deal with other Soul Beasts. What truly made him speechless was that she was someone born from the destruction of earth.

There was truly a moment when he did want to bring Lyra back with him, but he had felt that it was impossible with the presence of the High Grade Fable that was protecting her.

After all that, she ended up with him. He didn’t know if he should be happy that he had received another remnant of earth, or worry about what it meant for them.

He summoned her back from his ring, even when the Professor was busy talking about the value of the Soul Beasts.

He grabbed the chains that had tied Lyra’s hands and pulled them. The chains shattered under Elias’s strength, and Lyra was freed.

Lyra still had tears in her eyes, even when she was freed. She was completely different from the happy and optimistic girl that Elias had seen in the forest.

She didn’t say anything and silently stood there like a statue, looking at the Professor.

Elias sent her back, having freed her hands. He didn’t say anything to her, already guessing what might have happened.

The only thing that could have shocked Lyra to her core was the death of the Soul Beast that she considered as her grandfather.

When he broke out of the Land of Fables, he didn’t think that the old man was going to be foolish enough to rush out of that place.

Not only had he rushed out, but he was also caught by the people of the Academy and killed, along with the others.

The only reason Lyra was even left alive was because someone noticed the contracted mark on the back of her neck. The accidental contract had saved her life.

The class continued as usual with the Professor telling them more about the Soul Beasts, including the ways to grow them.

Most of the descendants of the founding families were sleepy throughout the class, already knowing such basic things through their families.

"If you have had good sleep throughout the class, then start paying attention now. I’m about to tell you something important." The Professor waved his hand, forcefully straightening the back of the student.

"Two weeks later, you will have a combined class with the Creator Class. It would be your first such class, and you would only be allowed to use your Soul Beasts in that class."

"Similarly, the Creator Class will only be allowed to use their Summoned Beasts. So you have two weeks to prepare accordingly, putting everything I told you in this class to good use."

The display on the screen changed and a blue planet appeared on the screen.

"This will be the place where the joint class will be held. All the information related to the planet will be sent to your badges for you to go through. Do what you please with the information."

Even though he didn’t outright say it, but many of the students received the hint that the surroundings might come into use. The terrain was something that could either benefit or harm their soul beasts.

One after another, the students also started departing, to make necessary preparations and train their Soul Beasts.

Elias was the only one left behind, watching the blue planet on the screen. After a long period of silence, he stood up and left the place as well.
