"Should I... interfere?" the guard asked, releasing a faint trace of killing intent.

Silas crushed the letter in his hand. It contained every bit of information about Elias’s awakening and his performance in the test.

"There is no need to interfere in the matters of children. If either of them dies, then it’s their own fault for not being able to protect themselves."

After crushing the paper, he tossed it towards the guard behind him. The letter started burning. It slowly turned to ashes just as the guard reached out to catch it.

"I will remember your words, my lord." The guard lowered his head, observing the last flicker of the flames as they consumed the letter completely.

"My Lord, the lady also received this news. With how much she loved the Fourth Young Master, she might do something about it."

He prepared to leave, but Silas spoke again. "Have you found any signs of Aliath?"

The guard gulped heavily. With a trembling voice, he answered, "None yet."

"Hmm," Silas responded, his reaction muted. "You can leave."

....

"You must do something about it!"

It had only been a few minutes since the guard had left when the door burst open and a woman barged inside.

"Elite force! Command the elite force to enter the Academy! You must save my son and punish Elias!"

She was truly panicked, thinking about her son’s fate; he had been kidnapped by Elias. If her son wasn’t found yet, it meant that he was in danger.

"No." One word... In only one word, Silas answered her with a swift rejection.

He stood up and took a step forward, phasing through a myriad of realities. He left the place, not wanting to be bothered anymore.

It was said that no one could truly understand what went through Silas’s mind, and even his wife was no different.

The woman was left alone in the room, looking in disbelief.

....

It was ten in the morning when the Academy Identification badge next to Elias began to shine. A hologram appeared above the badge, displaying a map for the students to follow.

Simultaneously, an alarm started ringing, growing louder with each passing second.

Although the alarm was loud enough to wake the entire neighborhood, Elias remained asleep.

Another hour passed before his eyes abruptly opened. This wasn’t because he was fully rested, but because his body sensed a threat.

He quickly leaped forward, summoning the Sword of Harbinger, and attacked the source of the presence.

"That’s a very interesting sword," the person Elias had hastily targeted, grabbed the blade of his sword between two fingers, stopping it from moving even an inch.

Initially, the person was impressed with Elias’s instincts alone. But that changed when he felt a spatial essence attacking the fingers holding the sword.

Elias’s sword disappeared as he finally got a better look at the person who had entered the room. He jumped back, landing on the other side of the bed.

"What are you doing in my room, Professor?" he asked. "I believe this is my personal space."

"You brat, do you even have the right to say something like that? Do you know how badly I was scolded because of you?" Grey summoned a chair. He sat down, resting a leg over the other.

"I was planning to scold you in class, but you didn’t even show up. In the end, I had to come here myself."

"Class?" Elias looked just as confused as ever. "How am I supposed to know about it when you abandoned me in the Land of Fables?"

"I’m lucky that something seemed to have gone wrong there, and the opening appeared on its own. If not for that, I would have been trapped there forever."

After calming down, he took advantage of the situation and offered an explanation before Grey could even ask.

He had no reason to tell them that he had created that opening. And the Professors couldn’t prove that he had done anything, since many strange things had happened in the Land of Fables this time.

The entire Land of Shadows had disappeared, and he had no hand in it. The Academy couldn’t blame him for everything.

"I know. It looks like a Soul Beast escaped from the Land of Fables after sacrificing an entire domain. It might have caused the imbalance that made it happen. The Dean already told me about it."

"Hmm?" Although Elias wanted Grey to believe his story, he didn’t expect it to be accepted so easily. "How do you know about the escaped Soul Beast? Did it appear at the Academy?"

"Academy? He would have thanked his stars if he had appeared at the Academy. He escaped from the Land of Fables, only to end up before... Ah, I believe you already met that man last night."

When Grey talked about the meeting last night, his expression turned sour as he remembered the scolding he had received.

He had gone to tell the Dean that Elias had died. He could still remember the Dean’s gaze, as if she were looking at the most idiotic man in the world.

She told him that she had already seen Elias, and that he was alive. And the true scolding came after that, for a teacher to not even know that their student was alive and roaming freely in the academy.

"Anyways, I am glad that you are alive." He truly looked relieved. His gaze that was filled with gratitude made Elias feel quite weird. Since when did this person start caring for him?

He didn’t know that Grey was simply relieved that there was someone to take the blame for the death of Esterin’s descendant. He didn’t have to take responsibility for that.

"Come with me." He stood up and the chair disappeared. He reached out his hand, making Elias’s badge flying straight to him.

He finally shut off the alarm, which had been beeping throughout this time, and tossed it back at Elias.

"The Badge isn’t just a key to use portals. It is also a communication device and a map. I had already sent you the coordinates of the class. You kept the others waiting as well. Let’s go."

He opened a portal. After grabbing Elias’s wrist, he entered the portal.
