Chapter 2677: Chapter 2677: The Origin of Telekinesis
Julius Reed wasn’t very sure of these people’s methods.
But they were indeed strange.
Perhaps Jessica’s words about ghost soldiers were somewhat exaggerated, but these people did have a ghostly aura.
Julius swung his sword, aiming directly at those people, with such speed that was lightning fast.
Yet he still couldn’t touch those blue-clad people.
Julius couldn’t believe anyone could be faster than his sword.
If there truly were, then there was only one possibility.
These people weren’t actually in the trajectory of his strike.
In other words, these people could deceive their opponents.
What you see might not be real.
What you hear might not be true.
In the martial arts world, there are all sorts of ways to deceive people, easy to say but extremely hard to execute.
Almost no one could achieve this feat.
Because human speed has its limits.
Maintaining high-speed movement is extremely taxing on the body.
Since these blue-clad people emerged until now, at least several minutes have passed.
If continuously moving at high speeds, it’s beyond human endurance.
The only explanation is illusion.
Thinking of this, Julius activated the God’s Eye!
The surging force within him allowed him to easily activate the God’s Eye, without the constant danger as before.
The God’s Eye was in a semi-active state, not completely dormant.
It could be activated at any moment.
With one glance, Julius saw a truly terrifying scene.
In front of him, it wasn’t just those few people he initially saw.
Instead, it was densely packed, hundreds of them!
Among these hundreds, only a few had physical bodies.
The rest were mere remnant souls.
They were bound together by chains, looking like row upon row of prisoners.
"Seven Gem Slope, don’t move."
Julius took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
Because that Seven Gem Slope was now Quella Radcliffe!
If Seven Gem Slope encountered any mishap, Quella wouldn’t fare well either.
"I know, but now, they’re right in front of me, I can’t just wait for death." Seven Gem Slope retreated helplessly.
"Around you are hundreds of remnant souls connected by chains, do you know what this is?"
Julius had never seen such a scene, he had to ask.
Throughout his memory, he had encountered countless events.
His experiences were very rich.
But surprisingly, today’s scene was something he hadn’t anticipated.
He was even shocked!
This scene reminded him of Skilid City!
Back then, Skilid City was like a mortal world purgatory, with heads rolling everywhere!
Similar to now, not much difference.
But Skilid City was confined to a city, a range.
Those tragedies were within Skilid City.
But now, these horrifying things had emerged.
"What did you say?" Seven Gem Slope seemed disbelief.
Meanwhile, Jessica who was weeping afar, paused upon hearing these words.
"They’re connected, all by telekinesis." Julius voiced out what he saw.
"I know." Seven Gem Slope’s face suddenly turned pale.
"Unexpected, what I abolished before, now they’ve brought it back."
She explained, "This method was once used by the Nine Provinces King to cultivate his forces - nurturing capable individuals with no identities, binding them, torturing them for years then killing them!"
"Due to hatred, the deceased would cause telekinesis to gather and persist.
Such telekinesis is exactly what the Nine Provinces King desired.
Telekinesis is the core; a body can contain many telekinesis.
Just like what you see now, their multiple telekinesis competes for one body.
Thus the body you see isn’t truly where it is.
These people died under torment, held grudges while alive, thus upon seeing people, they seek revenge viciously."
After explaining, Seven Gem Slope felt a bit despairing, "Now it seems like... a deadlock. They’re too strong, just killing machines."
"And I." She looked at her hands and Quella’s frail body, "can’t beat them now."
Seven Gem Slope was truly helpless.
Since emerging, she had been tormented intensely.
Loss of power made her feel powerless now.
But could the master’s words be wrong?
The master foresaw her disaster.
Predicted her salvation.
And even foresaw meeting her destined one.
All realized.
She wouldn’t just die, right?
No way, no way!
Seven Gem Slope firmly believed she wouldn’t die.
If the master had arranged it all, what’d she worry about?
"Though they’re strong, they have weaknesses. Back then, slaves tortured to death by nobles were extremely timid too. Class concepts were deeply rooted within them."
She shouted to Julius Reed, "The real aggressors are those nobles who died alongside! This noble is aggressive; their remnants dare attack because of him. Killing this noble’s remnant soul would disperse them all!"
Seven Gem Slope was once the king of the Nine Provinces and ruled for a long time.
She oppressed the Nine Provinces by force, unlike the prior kings treated as spokespersons elected by the people.
With power, she could do as she wished.
Seven Gem Slope abolished many long-standing strategies of the Nine Provinces Kings.
Like raising women’s status, considered rebellious back then.
But all feared Seven Gem Slope’s firmness; none dared speak against.
Women could cultivate martial arts then.
Even ghost soldiers were abolished by Seven Gem Slope.
She found such acts cruel and lacking kindness.
Considered it as committing evil.
Now seeing this, Seven Gem Slope was utterly surprised that after her capture, they replicated this mode.
Letting the innocent die.
As sacrificial goods!
As tools!
Her heart ached.
"I understand." Julius obtained the information and began observing carefully.
Those ghost soldiers hadn’t moved in a short while, so Julius refrained from rashly attacking.
Indeed, what wasn’t visible before was now clear after Seven Gem Slope spoke.
The telekinesis bound by chains was distinctly different.
The front one notably had murderous intent in its eyes!
The rest, though resentful, dared not act autonomously.
Fully obeyed the front remnant’s orders.
"So that’s how it is." Julius nodded, "Indeed, once the front remnant is eliminated, they’d lose their backbone."
The blue-clad people seen before were actually the front nobles.
Whenever attacked, the harm absorbed was by telekinesis behind.
Julius clearly saw, some parts of the rows were very disconnected.
Should be those struck by the sword.
