Chapter 2547: Chapter 2547: Entering the Illusion Again
Watching as the cross was about to collide with Julius Reed, the Archbishop elegantly took a drag of his cigar.
But right at that moment.
Julius Reed swiftly drew his blade and slashed forward, hard!
The blade, condensed with the power of God, cleaved the cross apart directly!
Boom!
A dull thud!
Julius Reed’s body trembled slightly, but he still smiled with ease.
"Many years ago, I seem to recall someone almost pulling off the same trick. Unfortunately, before that guy could even make a move, I sent him flying."
Sheathing his blade, Julius Reed stepped forward and lightly flicked his sleeve.
That Spiritual Power instantly collapsed and scattered.
"You..." For no reason at all, the Archbishop suddenly recalled the terror that had dominated him all those years ago!
Taking advantage of his shock, Silvio Reed suddenly struck out with a palm without any warning!
Puff!
The Archbishop spat out a mouthful of blood, flew more than ten meters away, and slammed heavily into the ground!
"Silvio Reed!"
The Archbishop let out a roar, feeling as if his internal organs were about to tear apart.
Fortunately, his Spiritual Power was deep and he had cultivated Martial arts for many years, so he was spared from instant death!
If it had been any other bishop today, with Silvio Reed launching such a completely unanticipated sneak attack, they would have died on the spot.
With no hope of survival!
"A堂堂 god-tier expert actually stoops to something this disgraceful! Silvio Reed, I’ve seen your true character now."
The Archbishop struggled to his feet, his eyes filled not only with shock, but with fury.
He hadn’t expected that Silvio Reed, with such a huge reputation and such high praise from the outside world, and who had spoken so sincerely back in the Vatican!
Would now turn his face and deny all ties.
Is this what you call acting like a human being?
"I, Silvio Reed, never negotiate terms with anyone, never make peace with anyone." Silvio Reed said with absolute confidence, "All’s fair in war, got it? My opponents only ever have one fate, and that’s death! Haha, you were the idiot, and you blame me?"
"Lesson learned." The Archbishop suddenly spun around and vanished into the air.
With his abilities, if he truly wanted to escape, there were almost none who could stop him.
"You let him go?" A bit of color returned to Julius Reed’s pale face.
He was quite weak right now; if he really fought the Archbishop head-on, he probably couldn’t defeat him in a short time.
Silvio Reed stepping in at this moment was precisely because he saw that.
He only needed the Archbishop to save him and force Julius Reed to expend himself once.
Beyond that, the Archbishop had no meaning to him whatsoever.
"If the Archbishop gets away, your reputation will be utterly ruined." Julius Reed said again.
"Isn’t my reputation already ruined enough by you?" Silvio Reed laughed loudly. "Julius Reed, you’re vicious enough! You hyped me up so high, made me into a Saint! As long as I make the slightest mistake, I’ll be spat on by the whole world, despised by everyone!"
"You really are impressive. But it doesn’t matter. Taking that palm from me, the Archbishop won’t be able to recover for decades. By then, as long as I unify the world, I can wipe out everyone in his church! Not a single one...left."
As Silvio Reed said these things, he didn’t feel even the slightest guilt.
As if he was talking about something utterly ordinary.
"Now it’s just the two of us. There has to be an ending, right?"
Silvio Reed slowly extended his hand, aiming it at Julius Reed. "You’re very weak right now. This is my best chance to deal with you. Sorry, my friend."
With that, he slowly reached out and grabbed toward him!
A violent gale suddenly whipped up!
"Kill him!"
At Silvio Reed’s command, the subordinates kneeling around them rushed forward at once!
The raging wind was like ropes, making it almost impossible for Julius Reed to move.
Silvio Reed was clearly going all out, attempting to bind Julius Reed’s body!
A crowd of men, blades in hand, rushed up to Julius Reed, raised their weapons, and hacked down with all their strength!
Faced with someone who couldn’t move, killing him would be easy.
"It’s over." Silvio Reed’s tone carried a trace of regret. "If you could have stood with me, changing this world would’ve been too easy."
Just as he closed his eyes, unwilling to witness the scene of Julius Reed being killed.
The ones doing the killing suddenly stopped.
Julius Reed was right at arm’s length!
They only needed to step forward just a bit more to finish him off.
Yet they all just stood there, motionless!
"What’s wrong?" Silvio Reed opened his eyes, sensing something off. "Do it!"
He gave the order!
But none of them moved!
"Do it!" Silvio Reed roared again in fury!
Yet his subordinates were as if frozen in place.
Silvio Reed did not rashly step forward. Instead, he backed up a few steps and began scanning the surroundings.
Something was clearly wrong!
This was nowhere near normal.
He could feel the power within his body draining away.
He had already expended far too much earlier, and now, to keep Julius Reed bound, he was burning through enormous amounts of Spiritual Power every second!
Only then could he restrain Julius Reed and keep him from moving.
Just then, something changed around Julius Reed.
One of the men’s heads suddenly dropped off in a bizarre way.
Julius Reed’s shadow behind him began to shift.
As if in the presence of this shadow, all other shadows didn’t even dare to move.
The shadows stayed still, yet in turn, they were affecting the people.
None of those men could move!
And although Julius Reed himself couldn’t move, his shadow easily plucked off their heads.
Just like that, one after another.
Amid a series of stunned gazes, the heads of Silvio Reed’s Assassins were all lopped off.
One after another, the headless corpses, losing all control, toppled to the ground.
Julius Reed looked at Silvio Reed and gave a slight smile.
"Demonic!" Even with all he had been through, facing such a bizarre scene out of nowhere, Silvio Reed still felt a chill in his heart.
As expected, Julius Reed was nowhere near that simple!
After a brief hesitation, he withdrew his power and vanished.
On the ground, only a pile of headless corpses remained.
Julius Reed suddenly felt a wave of fatigue wash over him. Either his Spiritual Power was overly depleted, or controlling the Shadow of God was consuming him too much!
Thud!
Julius Reed collapsed straight to the ground.
His sweat soaked through his clothes.
And also soaked the Double Dragon Jade Pendant Nelson had stuffed on him before he set out.
In an instant, Julius Reed fell into a dream.
This time, there were no mountains, no seas.
No Hiddy, no Elaenor Wood, and no mysterious figures.
All around him were towering buildings!
But the streets were utterly desolate, not a single human figure in sight.
It was like a bustling city where everyone had vanished overnight.
Walking down the street, Julius Reed didn’t sense anything unusual.
It felt just like an ordinary city.
Except for the emptiness.
He walked and walked, going who knows how long, yet never reached the edge of the city.
He tried to enter the rooms, only to find them completely empty.
On some of the tables, there were even cups of coffee still steaming, half-finished.
Loneliness!
Julius Reed suddenly understood.
The Double Dragon Jade Pendant was both heaven and hell!
The first time they came here, they all got what they wanted!
The second time, they would inevitably experience what they feared most deep in their hearts!
What Julius Reed feared most was loneliness!
A city in hand, yet not a soul in sight!
