Chapter 204: Court Case Ends!

As they walked out of the court, Tang Junjie expressed his gratitude to Ao Junfeng.

Tang Junjie: "Thank you, we wouldn’t have done this without you."

Ao Junfeng nonchalantly replied, "Sure thing."

Brother Song, still overwhelmed with emotions, asked about his family.

Brother Song: "My family?"

Ao Junfeng smiled and gestured for Brother Song to turn around. To his surprise, his wife and child were approaching them. Overcome with relief, Brother Song rushed toward them and embraced them in a tight hug.

Brother Song: "Are you okay? Did they do anything to you?"

His wife reassured him, "We are both okay, nothing happened."

Brother Song turned to Ao Junfeng, seeking an explanation for the unexpected reunion.

Brother Song: "When did they get here?"

Ao Junfeng explained, "They have been here since morning, in a different waiting room with Tang Junjie."

Grateful and emotional, Brother Song turned back to Ao Junfeng.

Brother Song: "Thank you so much. I don’t know what I would have done if—"

Ao Junfeng interrupted, "It’s over now. You can continue with your life. Maybe take your family on a holiday to forget the trauma."

Brother Song, filled with gratitude, nodded in agreement.

Brother Song: "Yes, yes. You are right. I will do just that."

Reporters eagerly awaited Ao Junfeng and Tang Junjie outside the courtroom, hoping to capture their reactions following the conclusion of the case.

Ao Junfeng, with a confident smile, responded to the first question, expressing a sense of accomplishment. "Every win always gives me a sense of accomplishment, that I managed to help someone in need," he stated, reaffirming his undefeated track record.

Pressed on his confidence, Ao Junfeng asserted, "I have never lost a case, and this wasn’t going to be my first loss, not if I can help it." His self-assured demeanor conveyed the conviction he had in his legal prowess.

Turning their attention to Tang Junjie, reporters sought information about his recent abduction. Tang Junjie, mindful of the ongoing police investigation, chose his words carefully. "The police are involved, so I can’t say anything further," he replied, maintaining discretion.

The reporters were persistent, asking about Tang Junjie’s mother and her well-being. Tang Junjie assured them, "I believe she is well now. I will be seeing her after this," hinting at his immediate plans after leaving the courthouse.

Guards efficiently guided Ao Junfeng, Tang Junjie, and the Song family through the crowd of reporters, ensuring a smooth exit. Ao Junfeng arranged transportation for Brother Song and his family, while Tang Junjie revealed his intention to head to the hospital to visit his mother.

"Sure," Ao Junfeng acknowledged, orchestrating the logistics to ensure everyone involved in the intense courtroom battle was taken care of as they moved forward from the legal ordeal.

As Ao Junfeng settled into his car, his phone rang, and he swiftly answered, "Yes ma’am." On the other end, Li Yanyan instructed, "Now move to phase two." Ao Junfeng confidently replied, "Consider it done." Ending the call, he dialed another number and spoke to an old friend, "I have a story that will give you your long-desired promotion."

The friend on the line eagerly responded, "Send me the details." Ao Junfeng asserted, "I want it in the news tomorrow." The friend assured him, "You can count on me." Ao Junfeng hung up, a triumphant smile gracing his face. He closed his eyes, allowing himself a moment of rest as the driver navigated towards his hotel.

Meanwhile, Tang Junjie reached the hospital, a sense of urgency propelling him forward as he quickened his pace to see his mother. The echoes of the courtroom drama still resonated within him, but the prospect of reuniting with his family brought a mix of relief and anticipation.

Tang Junjie, wearing a mix of relief and concern on his face, approached his mother in the hospital room. Madame Tang greeted him with a radiant smile and uttered, "Son." Tang Junjie shared the victorious news, saying, "Mom, we did it. We won the case." However, Madame Tang’s focus was unwaveringly on her son’s well-being, expressing, "All I care about is your safety, son."

Tang Junjie, touched by his mother’s sacrifice, apologized, "I’m sorry, Mom. I’m sorry you had to get injured trying to protect me." Unyielding in her love, Madame Tang reassured him, "I would do it again without even thinking twice." Tang Junjie held his mother’s hand, a warm smile gracing his lips. Concerned about his younger brother, he inquired, "Where is Tang Ziyi?" Madame Tang revealed, "He went to freshen up and change."

Sensing his mother’s underlying worry, Tang Junjie questioned, "Why do you seem troubled?" Madame Tang confided, "He knows now, Junjie." Tang Junjie, shocked and confused, sought clarification, "I don’t understand." Madame Tang recounted the circumstances of her needing blood after being shot. Tang Junjie sighed, realizing the implications, and asked, "Is he okay? Now knowing we’re not his biological family, how does he feel?" Madame Tang replied, "I can’t be too sure. Can you please talk to him and find out?"

The door swung open suddenly, and Tang Ziyi entered the room with excitement, exclaiming, "Mom, you won’t believe this." However, upon spotting Tang Junjie, his joy shifted, and he questioned, "Brother, when did you get here? How did the case go?" Tang Junjie, choosing not to dwell on the case for the moment, wordlessly stood up and enveloped Tang Ziyi in a warm hug, expressing, "I’m sorry, Ziyi. Sorry we lied to you. But you will always be my only brother."

Tang Ziyi, despite the revelation, maintained his composure and reassured, "Come on, brother. You don’t have to apologize. I had the best childhood growing up with you as my brother. DNA doesn’t matter. What matters is that we love each other, right?" Madame Tang, supportive and loving, chimed in, "Yes, yes, son. That is all that matters. You will always be my son, no matter what you decide." Tang Ziyi, displaying resilience, declared, "Don’t worry, Mom. Since they didn’t want me, I won’t go looking for them. They can go to hell for all I care." Tang Junjie, hearing Tang Ziyi’s words, felt a slight sense of relief, selfishly wanting to keep Tang Ziyi as his brother forever.

Madame Tang shifted the conversation, asking, "What did you want to tell me?" Tang Ziyi beamed and shared, "Well... Brother Chen bought me a car, Mom. I have my very own car." Madame Tang expressed, "Wow, that is indeed great news." Tang Junjie joined in, saying, "Yes, it is. We have to celebrate everything when Mom gets out of the hospital." Tang Ziyi agreed, "Yes, we do. But I don’t even know how to drive." Tang Junjie encouraged him, "You can take lessons, get your license, and start driving. You are a fast learner; you will get it very quickly."

The conversation shifted to lighter topics, and Tang Junjie, Tang Ziyi, and Madame Tang spent the rest of the day sharing stories, laughter, and joy despite the challenges they had faced. The atmosphere in the hospital room became filled with a warmth that overshadowed the lingering shadows of the recent court case. They cherished the moments as a family, embracing the love and unity that bound them together.

As the day unfolded, Tang Junjie, Tang Ziyi, and Madame Tang continued to share their dreams, plans, and the simple joys of life. Tang Ziyi expressed his excitement about learning to drive, and Tang Junjie promised to be there to guide him through the process. Madame Tang, though still recovering, couldn’t help but feel immense gratitude for the love and unity that surrounded her.

In the evening, as the hospital room dimmed with the soft glow of the bedside lamp, Tang Junjie looked at Madame Tang and said, "Mom, we’ve been through a lot, but we’re still standing strong together. I promise to always protect you and Ziyi." Madame Tang smiled and replied, "Junjie, you’ve always been a wonderful son, and Ziyi, you’re a blessing to our family. No matter what, we are family, and that’s what truly matters."

Tang Ziyi, still excited about his new car, added, "And I promise to make you proud, Mom, Brother Junjie. You may not be my biological family, but you are my real family."

The three of them shared a moment of silence, cherishing the bond that had been strengthened through the trials they faced. Tang Junjie then suggested, "Let’s focus on the positive things from now on. We have each other, and that’s enough."

The hospital room filled with laughter, warmth, and the shared determination to move forward as a family. The challenges they faced only strengthened their resolve to face the future together, hand in hand.
