Chapter 173: Sun Fang’s Possession
In the dark bedroom at Sun Fang’s villa, Sun Fang sat in the dimly lit room. His eyes showed no emotions, and he had been sitting in the same position for hours. A sinister smirk played on his lips as he finally stood up and walked out of the bedroom. The entire villa was completely dark, shrouded in chilling silence. The ominous atmosphere hinted at an impending storm, and Sun Fang’s demeanor suggested that he was at the center of it all.
He got in his car and drove directly to Pinnacle Estate. He circled around the estate and finally drove in. Pinnacle Estate belonged to the Sun Family, so Sun Fang could get in and out as he pleased. He stood outside a grand villa, and without even thinking, he walked in.
Inside the villa, Li Chen sat in a cross-legged position, engaging in meditation. The living room, still resonating with the recent shared laughter and warmth, now transformed into a sanctuary of inner reflection. An hour had passed since Li Xinjie left, and Li Chen sought solace to clear his mind.
Suddenly, he opened his eyes, a subtle frown creasing his forehead. The god of war within him spoke, "We have company."
Li Chen replied calmly, "I know."
The god of war, an internal voice that echoed the darker facets of his existence, taunted, "You will never find peace."
Li Chen chuckled and retorted, "And whose fault is it?"
The god of war continued the cryptic exchange, asking, "Yours or mine?"
Li Chen replied confidently, "I think I can handle it on my own."
The god of war, seemingly indifferent, stated, "Suit yourself," as the internal dialogue faded into the background, leaving Li Chen to prepare for the unwelcome arrival that had been sensed in the depths of his meditation.
Li Chen walked out of his bedroom, heading directly to the living room, which was enveloped in darkness as everyone else had already retired for the night. He scanned the room for a few minutes, finding a place to sit as he patiently waited. The quietude of the night was interrupted only by the soft hum of distant city sounds.
Soon, he heard light footsteps approaching, and he heightened his senses. A gust of malevolence seemed to envelop the room. Li Chen wiped his eyes, uncertain if he had seen a flash of green or if it was a trick of the shadows playing with his perception. The atmosphere felt peculiar.
The god of war within him suddenly exclaimed, "Shit."
Li Chen asked, "What?"
The god of war replied, "Mind Control spell used by witches and wizards back in the day."
Li Chen nodded in understanding. He then waited for the intruder to come into full view. Anticipating a confrontation, he abruptly turned on a small lamp beside the couch. The living room was now dimly lit, and he saw clearly the person walking towards him. The confrontation was inevitable.
Li Chen stood up and confronted the intruder, recognizing him as Sun Fang. The air seemed charged with tension as Sun Fang spoke as if programmed, demanding, "Give it to me."
Li Chen, perplexed, asked, "What are you talking about?"
Sun Fang, his voice now growling like an angry monster, repeated, "The manual, give it to me."
Li Chen, still in the dark, replied, "What manual? You need to be more specific."
Sun Fang, his demeanor increasingly aggressive, insisted, "I said give it to me."
Li Chen, observing a greenish flash in Sun Fang’s eyes, recalled seeing the same unsettling color in a dream. Realizing that Sun Fang was under some form of mind control, he said, "Sun Fang, you need to snap out of it. I don’t want to fight you."
Sun Fang, caught in the grip of the spell, continued to demand, "I said give it to me." Li Chen looked at him with pity, understanding that Sun Fang was ensnared in forces beyond his control. The situation became increasingly complex, and Li Chen grappled with the challenge of freeing Sun Fang from the mysterious influence that bound him.
Li Chen walked towards Sun Fang, his heart heavy with concern for his cousin. His eyes, a mirror reflecting the turmoil within, locked onto Sun Fang’s, desperately searching for a glimmer of recognition. With a voice filled with sincerity, he implored, "I know you are still there, Sun Fang. You need to fight this."
In that moment, a sudden eruption of violence shattered the fragile peace. Sun Fang’s clenched fist struck Li Chen’s face with a force that sent him staggering backward. The crash of a falling vase echoed in the once-silent living room, its shards a somber melody punctuating the intense confrontation.
Li Chen wiped the blood from his nose, a vivid testament to the force of the blow. His eyes, now a mixture of pain and determination, fixed on Sun Fang. "Don’t make me do this, Sun Fang. You need to fight what is controlling you."
Sun Fang, standing in a rigid fighting stance, seemed entrapped in a struggle between his own self and an external force. His voice, void of its usual warmth, echoed the relentless command, "Give it to me." The words, like an insidious chant, seemed to be the only ones capable of escaping his lips.
As the room embraced an uneasy stillness, the fractured vase served as a metaphor for the growing rift in the tranquility of the night. Li Chen, caught between the duty to protect and the desire to help his cousin, braced himself for the impending battle, hoping against hope that Sun Fang could break free from the sinister control that bound him.
Sun Fang charged forward, attempting to punch Li Chen once again, but Li Chen, now alert, quickly dodged the attack. Sun Fang, who had put all his energy into the strike, sought balance from the coffee table as he stumbled forward. Li Chen, now standing on the other side of the room, took a moment to contemplate the best approach to handle the situation before him.
The dim light cast elongated shadows, highlighting the tension in the room. Li Chen, torn between the familial bond they shared and the need to protect himself, maintained a cautious stance. Sun Fang, seemingly under the influence of an unseen force, regained his composure and fixed his gaze on Li Chen with an unrelenting intensity.
As the air thickened with anticipation, Li Chen’s mind raced with conflicting thoughts. He wanted to reach out to Sun Fang, to break the spell that held him captive, yet the threat of the uncontrolled aggression Sun Fang displayed kept him on guard. The room became a battlefield of emotions, echoing the silent struggle between the two cousins.
Li Chen, choosing a path of caution and empathy, called out, "Sun Fang, this isn’t you. You have to fight against whatever is controlling you." His words hung in the air, a plea for Sun Fang to break free from the malevolent force that had taken hold of him.
