Chapter 155: Zhang Mei’s Abduction 6 (Li Chen is special)

Chen Yunlong, perceiving the worry etched on Sun Lixia’s face, sighed and admitted, "I know you are worried about your son, but I can’t tell you what he doesn’t want to share. However, I will say he is special in so many ways. He does possess something that will attract a lot of, like really bad, people." Sun Lixia, growing impatient, demanded, "What do you mean by ’special’? Don’t talk in riddles." Chen Yunlong replied cryptically, "I am sorry, but that is all I can say. He will tell you if and when he chooses to."

Li Yanyan, feeling the urgency of the situation, pressed further, "How can we help him?" Chen Yunlong, with a solemn expression, stated, "You can’t do much for him. This is something he has to face himself. Unless you want all your men dead, he is the only one who can defeat the people that are after him." The weight of his words lingered in the room, leaving Sun Lixia and Li Yanyan grappling with the realization that Li Chen’s predicament was deeply entwined with forces beyond their understanding.

Chen Yunlong’s voice cut through the tension in the room, "Where is he?"

"In his room," Sun Lixia replied, her gaze scrutinizing the mysterious figure standing before her.

"Take me to him," Chen Yunlong requested, his demeanor calm yet firm. Sun Lixia hesitated for a moment, contemplating the decision to allow a stranger into her son’s presence. However, she sensed an air of authority and wisdom about Chen Yunlong that intrigued her, prompting her to lead the way to Li Chen’s room.

Inside, the room was dimly lit, casting shadows on Li Chen’s unconscious form. Chen Yunlong approached the bed and studied Li Chen with a discerning gaze. His eyes furrowed as if sensing something beyond the physical.

"Give me a few minutes alone with him," Chen Yunlong requested, his tone carrying a blend of reassurance and certainty.

Sun Lixia, torn between her distrust and the hope for any help for her son, hesitated before reluctantly agreeing. "Fine, but my men will be right outside. If you do anything to him, I swear I will kill you with my own bare hands."

With a nod, she motioned for the guards to wait outside, leaving Chen Yunlong alone with Li Chen in the dimly lit room.

Inside the room, Chen Yunlong observed Li Chen’s unconscious form, his brows furrowed with concern. The air in the room seemed heavy with the weight of unspoken truths and hidden struggles. Chen Yunlong extended his hands over Li Chen, palms glowing faintly as he entered a state of deep concentration.

Minutes stretched into an eternity for Sun Lixia, standing outside the closed door. The uncertainty of the situation gnawed at her, and she felt a pang of regret for not knowing more about her son’s clandestine visits to Chen Yunlong’s villa. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Finally, the door opened, and Chen Yunlong emerged, his expression a mix of concern and understanding. Sun Lixia, with a furrowed brow, awaited his words, hoping for a glimmer of insight into her son’s plight.

"He’s trapped in a battle within himself," he began, choosing his words carefully. "His anger has taken control, and the power within him is dangerous. The more he resists, the more it consumes him."

Sun Lixia, her worry deepening, asked, "What can we do to help him?"

Chen Yunlong sighed, the weight of responsibility evident in his expression. "Li Chen is unique, and his uniqueness attracts not only admiration but also peril. There are forces at play seeking what he possesses, and he must confront them. But to do that, he needs to regain control over his emotions."

Sun Lixia clenched her fists, determination flashing in her eyes. "How do we break this cycle?"

Chen Yunlong met her gaze, and with a solemn tone, he explained, "He needs to confront his past, face his fears, and accept who he truly is. Only then can he harness the power within him without succumbing to its darkness."

Sun Lixia nodded, absorbing the information. The path ahead seemed daunting, but she was resolute in her determination to bring her son back from the precipice that threatened to consume him.

Sun Lixia’s thoughts swirled in a tumultuous mix of fear and uncertainty as she descended the stairs alongside Chen Yunlong. The weight of his words lingered heavily in her mind, painting an ominous picture of an unforeseen destiny for her son. A sense of dread clawed at her heart, envisioning a future where both her beloved boys might be engulfed by a sinister influence.

The mere notion of the drug gaining control over Li Chen, twisting his essence and rendering him unrecognizable, chilled her to the bone. The prospect of her sons being manipulated by malevolent forces, transforming into beings she wouldn’t recognize, was a nightmare she couldn’t bear to entertain.

Despite her apprehension, Sun Lixia attempted to compose herself, masking the turmoil within. As they reached the living room, she found herself unable to shake off the distress that had settled deep within her.

Chen Yunlong glanced at Sun Lixia, his gaze carrying a hint of compassion. He recognized the anguish etched on her face, the unspoken fears that consumed her. With a calm yet reassuring tone, he addressed her concerns, "Sun Lixia, Li Chen has a resilience that is beyond ordinary. He’s strong-willed, and that strength may well guide him through this ordeal."

His words offered a sliver of solace, but Sun Lixia’s worry remained palpable. She couldn’t shake off the unsettling visions of a future where her sons were mere shadows of themselves.

Nevertheless, she made a silent resolve within herself — to stand by her sons, to fight whatever forces threatened to engulf them, and to protect their essence at any cost. For now, all she could do was wait, hope, and steel herself for the challenges that lay ahead.

Chen Yunlong took out a small bottle from the inner folds of his robe, its contents shimmering faintly in the dim light of the living room. Sun Lixia, holding her breath in anticipation, watched as he presented the tiny vial.

"If he loses control again," Chen Yunlong spoke in a hushed tone, "make sure he inhales this. It has a calming effect that can soothe his nerves until he regains his right state of mind. I’ve been meaning to give him this when he came by my villa."

Sun Lixia carefully accepted the small bottle, its significance not lost on her. She felt a mixture of gratitude and relief, realizing that this mysterious concoction might hold the key to managing Li Chen’s inner turmoil. However, a lingering concern clouded her thoughts as she wondered about the true nature of the struggles her son faced.

"What is in here?" Sun Lixia inquired, studying the container in her hands.

Chen Yunlong, his gaze veiled with ancient wisdom, replied, "Something that will help your son not become a monster."

As he spoke those cryptic words, Sun Lixia couldn’t shake the feeling that there was much more to Li Chen’s existence than met the eye. The revelation of his unique nature and the subsequent emergence of dark forces seeking to exploit it left her grappling with a sense of powerlessness.

Chen Yunlong, having fulfilled his momentary role as a guide, turned to Xu Zhonhao and said, "Take me home, young man."

Xu Zhonhao, understanding the urgency, escorted Chen Yunlong outside. The weight of responsibility now rested on Sun Lixia’s shoulders as she clutched the small bottle, contemplating the challenges that lay ahead. The path to understanding and safeguarding her family seemed shrouded in mystery, and as night settled in, the villa became a sanctuary haunted by uncertainty and the anticipation of impending revelations.
