Chapter 117: Pact With The Unknown

A cold chill and a foul stench were the first sensations Sun Fang experienced as he gradually regained consciousness. His surroundings were dimly lit, revealing a small room with a solitary bed. The air felt heavy and oppressive, and he couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling that something was amiss.

As Sun Fang tried to sit up, a sharp pain shot through his side, and he winced in discomfort. It became evident that he had sustained injuries during the ordeal. The room’s atmosphere seemed to close in on him, intensifying his headache and disorientation.

Surveying the sparse surroundings, Sun Fang realized that the door was slightly ajar. Summoning his strength, he managed to sit on the edge of the bed, aching and disoriented. The room appeared to be part of an abandoned building, its cold and damp walls bearing witness to years of neglect.

With caution, Sun Fang reached out for his memories, attempting to piece together the events that had led him here. The last recollection was of those glowing green eyes, an image that sent shivers down his spine.

His phone was missing, and the SOS message to Shadow was a vague memory. Anxiety crept in as he pondered the unknown fate that awaited him. Sun Fang’s instincts kicked in, urging him to gather information and navigate the unsettling environment.

Slowly rising from the bed, he winced at the pain in his side. The door creaked as he pushed it open, revealing a narrow hallway. The air carried a foul smell, and the silence heightened his senses. Sun Fang moved with caution, aware that he might be under surveillance.

The corridor seemed endless, with each step echoing a sense of abandonment. The flickering light ahead hinted at a staircase, and Sun Fang decided to ascend, driven by the instinct to escape this mysterious confinement.

As he climbed, the building’s decay became more apparent. Sun Fang reached what seemed like the top floor and approached a slightly ajar door. Peeking inside, he discovered a room filled with dusty crates and dilapidated furniture, illuminated by a swinging light bulb.

His gaze swept the room, and that’s when he saw a figure seated in the shadows – the possessor of the glowing green eyes. Sun Fang’s heart raced as he contemplated his next move. The figure turned, revealing a twisted smile, and Sun Fang braced himself for whatever challenges lay ahead in this eerie and mysterious place.

"Where am I?" Sun Fang demanded, a mixture of fear and frustration in his voice. The figure’s laughter echoed in response, sending shivers down Sun Fang’s spine. As the person slowly advanced toward him, a sinister smile played on their lips.

In a chilling tone, the figure spoke, revealing a knowledge of Sun Fang’s lineage. "Sun Fang, son of Sun Weilong and grandson of Sun Weijie." Sun Fang’s eyes widened in astonishment and concern. "Who are you, and what do you want?" he pressed, his voice trying to conceal the anxiety within.

The figure dismissed the importance of their name and cackled maniacally. "The Sun family has always considered themselves mighty throughout history. Your grandfather and I have some unfinished business," the mysterious figure declared, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly magic.

With a gesture, the figure compelled Sun Fang to sit down, and he found himself obeying without resistance. The chair seemed to envelope him, amplifying the unsettling feeling that he was no longer in control. Sun Fang struggled against the invisible force that bound him, his mind racing with questions about the unfinished business and the identity of this mysterious adversary.

The figure circled Sun Fang, their presence evoking an eerie and oppressive atmosphere. Sun Fang felt a mix of trepidation and determination as he attempted to gather his thoughts and brace himself for whatever awaited him in this surreal encounter. The room, dimly lit and filled with an air of malevolence, became the stage for a confrontation that transcended the boundaries of time and family history.

"I need you to do something for me, Second Young Master Sun. Your cooperation will be your key to survival," the mysterious figure declared with a tone that brooked no opposition. Sun Fang, still under the influence of an unseen force, nodded his head mechanically. His mind had become a mere puppet to the man’s commands, thoughts silenced and replaced by a compelling urge to comply.

The figure continued to circle him, their glowing eyes penetrating deep into Sun Fang’s consciousness. The room seemed to close in on him, the air growing heavier with each passing moment. Sun Fang’s inner struggle became more pronounced, a silent battle between his innate will and the external force that sought to control him.

As the figure spoke of survival and cooperation, Sun Fang’s thoughts were clouded by a sense of foreboding. What did this mysterious entity want from him? What dark secrets connected his family’s past with this enigmatic presence? The unanswered questions only intensified the gripping fear that held Sun Fang in its vice-like grip.

In the midst of the oppressive atmosphere, the figure paused, leaving Sun Fang in suspense. The weight of the situation pressed down on him, and he braced himself for whatever task awaited him, all the while contemplating the price he might have to pay for his compliance.

The man leaned in, his voice a sinister whisper in Sun Fang’s ear. A string of incomprehensible words slithered into his consciousness, a command that echoed in the recesses of his mind. Sun Fang, entranced and obedient, nodded once more, his thoughts now consumed by the mysterious directive.

"Good, I am glad we are on the same page," the man declared with a satisfaction that sent a chill down Sun Fang’s spine. The cryptic figure then chanted a series of inaudible words, their resonance filling the small room. As the incantation lingered in the air, an eerie energy enveloped Sun Fang, and a sudden darkness engulfed him once again.

Unaware of the unfolding events around him, Sun Fang slipped into unconsciousness, the command etched into his mind awaiting its moment of activation. The room, now shrouded in an ominous stillness, held the secrets of a mysterious pact that bound Sun Fang to an unforeseen destiny.

Sun Lixia, who had returned to Li Chen’s villa, sat in the living room, lost in her thoughts. Shadow approached and spoke, "Ma’am, we received an SOS from Second Young Master Sun, and I sent one of the men to investigate."

Sun Lixia, snapping out of her contemplation, asked, "What’s the report? Is Sun Fang safe?"

Shadow replied, "The problem, ma’am, is that he has not reported back." Sun Lixia sighed, "Send Xu Zhonhao with a few men to check the location where Sun Fang sent the SOS."

Shadow suggested, "I can go, ma’am." Sun Lixia firmly responded, "No, you need to rest for a few days. You still have fractured ribs, remember?"

Shadow insisted, "I feel better now." Sun Lixia shook her head, "No, I can’t risk it. Send Xu Zhonhao and get him to update me as soon as he reaches the scene."

Shadow bowed and said, "Yes, ma’am." Before he left, Sun Lixia added, "Could you get someone to arrange a few maids for this villa and for my villa?" Shadow agreed, "Okay," and then exited the room, leaving Sun Lixia to bury herself in her thoughts.

She wasn’t too worried about Sun Fang, trusting her men to protect him. Her mind, however, was occupied by thoughts of Agent 17 and how she had compelled her sister-in-law to return to Shanghai. She understood the risks involved, but she felt it was worth it. Sun Lixia needed to find out what was going on.

Xu Zhonhao drove to the location where Sun Fang had last sent the SOS, accompanied by three men. Upon arrival, a strange feeling washed over him. As he surveyed the scene, he discovered the lifeless body of Sun Fang’s driver on the ground. A few feet away lay the body of the man assigned to protect Sun Fang. What astonished Xu Zhonhao the most was Sun Fang, seemingly unharmed, seated with his eyes closed in the car. The car’s window was shattered, and Sun Fang had a small wound, but nothing too severe.

Confused by the peculiar scene, Xu Zhonhao decided to prioritize Sun Fang’s well-being. He carefully placed him in the car and headed to the hospital, intending to have him checked by a doctor. Along the way, he contacted Sun Lixia, briefing her on the situation and the discoveries made at the scene.

Sun Lixia, on receiving the unsettling news about Sun Fang’s condition, felt a surge of concern and urgency. Her thoughts oscillated between the safety of her family and the mysterious threats lurking. Meanwhile, Xu Zhonhao, navigating the darkening paths of uncertainty, raced towards the hospital with Sun Fang. The ominous events hinted at a looming danger, leaving Sun Lixia gripped by an unsettling premonition. As shadows deepened, questions lingered, painting an air of suspense over the unforeseen challenges that lay ahead for the Sun family.
