Chapter 28: "I’ve Found My Calling!"
Spiritual space
That’s what most called it, some simply termed it the mental space.
An inner realm formed from the coalition of the owner’s techniques, abilities, bloodline and races.
Everything that defined the owner of the inner world would be reflected in this spiritual space and it was also the most vulnerable to anyone and everyone.
Draxus slowly opened his eyes to find himself on a burnt plain, just few meters away from him was a river made of lava flowing downwards from a volcano a few miles away from his position.
"Where is this?" He wondered aloud, pushing himself up with his palms, he felt a dull aching pain on his chest all the way to his right arm along with the searing headache he had before even opening his eyes.
{Ding! Host’s mental control and state has been compromised! Host is slowly losing control, once you lose all control the first system Awakening quest will be considered as failed!}
"Right, I’m still stuck with this system of a thing, and I was fighting a black moss who called himself Erimitis then--- why am I here?"
{This is your spiritual space dumbass}
’Spiritual space?’ raising his head to look at the skies all he could see were a messed myriad of colors floating above in the skies, constant flickers and crackles of lightning flashed in the skies giving off an immense amount of pressure to the world below it, apart from the volcano a few miles away from him everything else were charred lands and lava flowing down from the Volcano behind him.
{Everything here signifies your inner self, actions, thoughts and various abilities}
"I get what you mean but why is this volcano here? What does it mean?"
{Figure it out yourself, why would you ask me?}
"How do I get out? What’s happening out there?" Draxus asked, confused about his purpose in this so called spiritual space.
"What are you?" An hoarse voice called out a few meters away from him, Draxus looked over to see a dark mass of glob slowly cluttering together to form a humanoid figure with spikes jutting out from it’s body.
"Erimitis?" Draxus called out in shock, his gaze hovering over him and sure enough the display screen appeared before him.

{Description: A fragment of the corruption source, originally sealed by the gift from the God Anemoi held by Daniel Kyrosis upon being corrupted, unsealed after the gift was withdrawn)}
{Skills: Body reconstruction, hyper regeneration, psychic, mind manipulation, high grade elemental resistance}
’What the heck?’ Draxus nearly screamed out in shock when he saw the HP value overing over Erimitis.
’Am I dreaming?’
{HP: 930/930}
’Not even a single HP gone? Hey yo, system, Orion, what’s going on here? A malfunction?’
{How many times do I have to say it, the system has no malfunction, his HP is still full because you have yet to reduce it}
"Impossible! I clearly sliced him in half earlier, how is it that his HP is yet to drop?" Draxus screamed out, causing even Erimitis to feel confused.
"HP?"
{Technically, his HP dropped Everytime you attacked him but by using his energy and body reconstruction ability he was able to repair and heal after every strike so what depleted was his energy and not his health}
{The only way to kill him would be to either deplete his energy then his HP or just one shot him with a damage totalling over eight hundred points in an instant such that he will be unable to heal or regain his balance}
"You are strange, same as your inner world, what exactly are you?" Erimitis asked, his face filled with curiosity towards this unknown creature before him.
"Strange? I should ask you that."
Erimitis didn’t bother to reply to Draxus, taking a step forward he fused his arms together then.
Boooommm!!!!
’Oh, c’mon we’ve fought out there so what’s it again now?’ he thought, his arms were already raised to block the immense force pushing down on him constantly like a drill that refused to relent.
Re-entering the elemental possession state, his eyes lit up with multiple arcs of lightning which he gathered into his arm then punched out.
Bang!
Erimitis didn’t even register the blow for a second, he simply parried it away then dashed forward with fists clenched.
"For your spiritual space to be this huge and unique, there must be a lot of special and interesting things hidden in it, but why be jealous when they will all be mine in a few more moments!" He said with a wide grin on his face then gave Draxus a heavy punch on his face, lifting him into the air with such force Draxus nearly went unconscious once again.
’Nahh, I’ve being falling unconscious too much recently I think it might have affected my body, now I just feel like going off when things start getting worse.’
Just when he thought his nightmare was over Erimitis refused to give him a moment of respite before morphing his right arm into a drill then pushed it towards Draxus’s heart.
{Wake up idiot!}
"Yea, I’m up." Draxus said In a sluggish voice, still feeling the world spinning round him but he managed to conjure the sparks of lightning round him into his pores then leapt aside, dodging the drill.
Noticing this sudden development Erimitis morphed his arm from the drill into a sword then slashed towards Draxus who dashed away before the sword could reach his position.
"Nahh, not me this time, I’m not making the same mistake I made the last time twice."
{Huh?}
"The reason I lost earlier was because I was too passionate, thinking all about the mission and just fighting for the thrill aye, but now I’ve found my purpose, my true calling!"
{What sort of nonsense are you spouting right now?}
"Isn’t it obvious?! If I can’t defeat him I’ll just run, let’s see him catch up with me, he can’t catch up to me so why do I have to fight with him when I can just run? Fuck this all!"
Even Erimitis couldn’t believe Draxus would run away when he was right in his own inner world, there was basically nowhere for him to run to.....
"Wait, that’s right. I tried sensing this world’s barrier earlier but I couldn’t feel it, does it really have no barrier or limit?" Ignoring the thought gnawing at his mind he followed after Draxus, refusing to let his only chance to rise back to the peak once again go so easily.
Draxus didn’t pause for even a single second, after a few minutes of running he finally left the zone affected by the volcano, beyond it was an empty plain filled with nothing but trees and flowers, Draxus nearly couldn’t believe such a resplendent place existed beyond the volcano but remembering Erimitis chasing behind him he couldn’t afford to wait and admire it’s beauty.
’I need to leave.’
"You, what are you doing here?" A voice called out to him, turning around Draxus’s eyes opened wide in shock at what stood just a few meters away from him.
Ignoring everything else his eyes were fixated on the figure standing right before him, unable to do anything else but mutter a single word.
"Impossible!"
