Chapter 402: Chapter 298: Professional

Cook couldn’t stand it anymore and stepped forward, loudly rebuking her.

"Valerie, you can’t do this. You’ve become this way, are you going to let Fiona become just like you? If you truly love Fiona, you should let her go."

"Shut up. What does this have to do with you, you good-for-nothing."

Valerie turned her head and glared viciously at Cook.

Her eyes were filled with annoyance and warning. Then, she adopted the arrogant posture of someone who had the world in her hands as long as her daughter was with her, and said to Yves,

"I’m never giving Fiona to you. That’s the court’s final decision. Of course, the visitation agreement is still valid. You can take Fiona out today to go shopping and buy her a few new outfits."

"You!" Yves trembled with rage. His heart was filled with a burning fury, but the thought that this was the court’s ruling, in the face of the law...

All he could do now was helplessly and dejectedly hold his daughter, his heart full of unwillingness, yet powerless to change the situation.

"Alright, I’m asking you to leave. This is a private room. You are not welcome here."

Seeing Yves’s defeated expression, Valerie felt a surge of smugness.

She lifted her chin, looking triumphantly at Feng Mountain and his group, then turned back to Yves and continued,

"Please have Fiona home by 5 PM sharp. Have fun. Fiona, be a good girl and listen to your daddy, okay?"

"Let’s go."

Feng Mountain said softly, then turned and silently led the others out of the wooden cabin.

After they got outside, they waited. When a sorrowful-looking Yves came out holding his daughter, Feng Mountain motioned for the others to take the father and daughter back to the car first.

Then, he turned back to look at Valerie, who was still standing in the doorway, and walked up to her.

"Ma’am, could we talk for a moment?"

Valerie leaned against the doorframe. She first sized Feng Mountain up carefully, her gaze carrying a scrutinizing air. Finally, her eyes landed on Feng Mountain’s stern face, and the corners of her mouth lifted slightly into an unreadable smile.

"Of course. Yves told me you’re his boss. That means you must be rich, right?"

"I do alright. I have some money." Feng Mountain didn’t know what this woman was planning, so he just gave a casual reply and nodded.

Hearing this, Valerie immediately perked up. She straightened her upper body and deliberately slid her fingers gently along the doorframe, a hint of seduction in her eyes.

"Are you interested in buying your subordinate’s ex-wife a drink? I can teach you how a western cowboy rides a horse. It’s a paid service, of course, but it would be very... stimulating, wouldn’t it?"

The insinuation in her words was already obvious. Her shamelessness was truly dumbfounding.

’She’s crazy!’

’This woman is a lost cause!’

Feng Mountain was utterly speechless in his heart, having nothing to say to the woman before him.

At this moment, all he wanted was to end this nauseating conversation as quickly as possible.

"Ma’am, I only want to talk. Could we obtain custody of Fiona by other means? For instance, by paying a settlement."

Seeing that her initial goal had failed, Valerie immediately changed her tune, a greedy expression appearing on her face.

"A settlement... That’s not out of the question. 500,000 US Dollar, and I’ll give up custody."

’500,000 US Dollar!’

Feng Mountain cursed internally.

’I’d rather give all this money to the Alaska wildlife rescue to save injured animals than just hand it over to a parasite like you.’

On the surface, however, he remained impassive and just nodded.

"Alright. I’ll leave you my number. Give me a day to think about it. Goodbye."

After speaking, he didn’t give the woman a chance to say another word, turning and walking away quickly. He didn’t want to stay there a second longer.

Back in the SUV.

Fiona was still clinging tightly to Yves, refusing to let go, her big eyes filled with fear.

Seeing the little girl like this, Feng Mountain felt a pang of unease. He then turned to Cook and said, "Find a good restaurant. I think our little Angel is hungry."

"How about some Texas barbecue?" Cook replied as he expertly started the car and slowly drove out of the community.

As the car drove down the road, Feng Mountain glanced out the window and happened to see Bao Wen, the man who had just been kicked out, furtively walking back toward Yves’s house.

Before long, the car arrived in front of a restaurant.

Everyone got out of the car. After they entered the restaurant, Feng Mountain generously ordered a huge table full of meat. All kinds of delicious roasted and grilled meats were piled high, looking exceptionally tempting.

He then had Yves stay and eat with Fiona in the restaurant while he took Director Roland, Nash, and Cook outside. They sat down on a bench under the eaves to discuss the matter of Fiona’s custody.

Feng Mountain was the first to speak, his tone conveying an unyielding firmness.

"Gentlemen, I am determined to get Fiona out of there. If she stays with Valerie, something bad is bound to happen sooner or later. I don’t think Yves wants to see that happen either."

"That’s right. That living environment is simply awful. It’s terrible for a child’s development." Director Roland nodded in agreement. Thinking of the filthy and chaotic mess they had seen earlier, he felt it was definitely not right for the little girl to continue staying there.

Nash had always been a straightforward person who disliked beating around the bush. He felt the matter wasn’t that complicated and could be solved with a simple, brute-force approach.

"Just grab her and take a plane out of here. She’ll never find us."

"Give me a break. You think federal law is just for show?" Feng Mountain rolled his eyes at Nash. He himself had considered using Witchcraft to make Valerie give up custody, but too many people were involved, making the risk too high. He turned back to Director Roland. "You celebrities are always getting divorced. Any experience with this?"
