Chapter 366: Chapter 280: Start Filming
When Paine heard it was time to act, he immediately grew serious.
He quickly pulled out his walkie-talkie and began giving orders, making sure every team member was ready and knew their role in the upcoming operation.
Meanwhile, Feng Mountain, with Director Roland in tow, approached the oil company’s compound once more.
Director Roland followed close behind Feng Mountain, camera in hand, ready to document everything that was about to unfold. He was a bundle of nerves and excitement.
The two arrived at the main gate of the oil company’s compound.
He had the director hide in a blind spot from the observation window.
Feng Mountain stepped forward and began pounding on the iron gate.
After a few moments, the observation window on the gate slid open, revealing the same pair of eyes as before, filled with disdain and annoyance.
An arrogant voice immediately followed, drifting out from the window.
"Fack, you damned Indigenous person. We just contacted corporate legal. There’s no such thing as a ’Chief Sheriff of the Northern Tundra Towns and Villages,’ and there’s no ’Crown Land Chief.’ You’re a goddamn liar."
"My patience is limited. I’m warning you, stay away from our compound. Otherwise, we’ll shoot you for trespassing on private property."
The man behind the eyes continued his vicious threats, his tone arrogant and unreasonable, as if certain Feng Mountain wouldn’t dare to do a thing.
After speaking, the eyes glanced around. Seeing only Feng Mountain—and an Indigenous person at that—standing before the gate, he sneered deliberately.
"You lowly Indigenous. So we had some fun with one of your Indigenous women, what’s the big deal? You’re making all this fuss for money, just like before. Our company will pay compensation. Now scram, and stop being an eyesore."
Oh!
Hearing those words.
Feng Mountain was stunned for a moment, then a wave of unexpected delight washed over him.
’I never would have thought...’
’That he’d admit it so easily.’
’And so brazenly, too, without a hint of hesitation.’
’This really saves me a lot of trouble.’
He glanced over and saw Director Roland, camera raised, capturing the entire exchange.
Feng Mountain felt even more confident.
’Perfect. His verbal confession was being clearly recorded.’
’That’s irrefutable proof of their crime.’
’With this, what else can they possibly say?’
’No matter how they try to twist their words, it’ll be useless.’
However, on second thought, Feng Mountain realized something.
’I’m the star of this movie, after all.’
’To make sure this footage holds up as solid evidence later, I need to say a few official-sounding things.’
’Otherwise, it’ll be a problem if someone tries to nitpick later, claiming the evidence was obtained improperly or something like that.’
So, Feng Mountain cleared his throat and deliberately raised his voice, speaking to the man behind the iron gate.
"You bastard, do you have any idea what you’re saying? I am a Sheriff. This is my identification, registered with the state government. Are you insulting federal law?"
"You’ve just admitted to the crimes committed by your company’s personnel. You can’t just deny it now. You will be held legally responsible for your actions. Don’t even think about escaping justice."
"What do you mean ’had some fun with an Indigenous woman’? People have rights in Alaska! Indigenous People have civil rights and are protected by law! You’ve committed such a heinous crime and show no remorse. It’s utterly lawless."
Feng Mountain grew more incensed as he spoke, his voice booming and echoing in front of the compound’s vast gate.
"Now, I order you to open this gate and submit to an investigation! I just heard arguing inside your compound, and I suspect you are destroying evidence. I’ll give you ten seconds to think it over. You’d better cooperate, or you’ll regret it."
However, the man inside the gate remained as arrogant as ever and began to curse.
"Fack you! I’ll give you ten seconds to get lost, you Indigenous pig! This is white man’s land! Indigenous People, get the hell out! Stop putting on a show for me. We’re not about to listen to your bullshit orders."
His words were appallingly discriminatory and arrogant. He paid no mind to Feng Mountain’s warning, instead doubling down on his insults.
Good!
’The scene is shot, the footage is in the can.’
Feng Mountain gloated inwardly.
’Now I have some rock-solid evidence.’
But his face remained a mask of righteous indignation, betraying none of his inner thoughts.
He discreetly pulled a hand back into his sleeve, his fingers dancing rapidly as he skillfully formed the hand signs for the Enchanting Spell.
Enchanting Spell.
It was a form of Witchcraft passed down from his ancestors.
The clan’s Witches typically used it only to question tribesmen who had erred, or to interrogate captives from enemy tribes.
As Feng Mountain’s fingers moved,
a red glint shot from his hand, striking the man behind the observation port squarely between the eyebrows.
The red glint vanished in a flash, instantly merging into the man’s body.
The next moment.
Director Roland witnessed a horrifying scene.
A gun barrel suddenly jutted out from the observation window.
The black muzzle was aimed right at Feng Mountain. The instant he tilted his head to dodge, the barrel erupted in flame.
RAT-TAT-TAT!!
The fierce gunfire shattered the tense standoff, the sound exceptionally piercing in the silence.
He opened fire!
The man had actually opened fire!
And at such close range, right at Feng Mountain.
Although Director Roland was utterly panicked, his heart leaping into his throat and his legs trembling uncontrollably, the camera in his hands faithfully recorded the entire event.
Then, his face white with terror from the gunshots, Director Roland’s legs gave out, and he dropped to the ground, crying out in alarm.
