The entire room fell silent.
Everyone’s lips twitched violently.
Selene’s eyebrow immediately twitched before she slowly stepped forward with terrifyingly cold eyes.
"Snowflake..." she spoke in an unusually calm voice. "Come here to mommy."
Snowflake immediately raised its chin proudly.

Dead silence spread through the room.

Although Selene’s cheeks faintly flushed at the title "Mother Selene," her expression remained cold and dangerous.
How dare this little snake speak back to her like that?

Aether simply continued caressing his peacefully sleeping Queen without reacting at all.
Because, unlike the others, his thoughts were elsewhere entirely.

Aether quietly lowered his eyes.

The once elegant meeting room had completely transformed into chaos.
In the middle of that disaster, however, Aether suddenly felt a gentle tap against his shoulder.
He turned slightly and saw Nyx standing behind him with a soft smile on her beautiful face. Her crimson eyes quietly met his before she motioned for him to follow her.
Although confused, Aether still stood up and followed after her without resistance.
The moment they left the hall, the muffled sounds of destruction continued echoing behind the closed doors.
"What is it?" Aether finally asked curiously after the hallway became quiet. He closed the door behind him while glancing toward Nyx.
Nyx looked at him silently for a brief second before speaking gently. "There’s something I need your help with before you leave."
"Now?"
"Yes. Right now."
Then, unexpectedly, she suddenly leaped directly into his arms.
Aether blinked in surprise before instinctively catching her soft body. Nyx immediately wrapped her arms around his neck before quietly whispering into his ear.
"Take me to the Pyra Palace immediately."
Aether raised an eyebrow but still nodded. Before leaving, he briefly glanced toward the large doors behind them, which were trembling slightly from the intense battle still happening inside.
Snowflake’s hysterical laughter could even be faintly heard from the other side.
Within moments, Aether arrived inside the Pyra Empire alongside Nyx before entering the palace and eventually her personal chambers.
The moment they entered the room, Nyx suddenly covered Aether’s eyes with both hands from behind.
"What is this?" Aether asked with genuine curiosity, now rising inside him.
"Sshh..."
Nyx softly hushed him before whispering near his ear, "I prepared a surprise gift for you."
Aether’s curiosity instantly deepened.
A surprise gift?
And from Nyx of all people?
That alone made him unexpectedly excited.
Without resisting further, he obediently closed his eyes while Nyx continued covering them carefully with her hands. Slowly, she guided him forward step by step.
Aether could feel his heartbeat slightly speeding up now.
What exactly was she planning?
As they continued walking, his senses quietly sharpened.
His nose picked up the faint scent of ash and smoke.
His ears caught the soft echo of their footsteps across dry, cracked ground.
Cold air gently brushed against his skin.
Instantly, realisation appeared inside his mind.

But why bring him here?
Did she prepare something special inside this place?
Several minutes later, Nyx slowly removed her hands from his eyes before whispering softly, "Don’t open them yet."
Aether nodded patiently, though his curiosity had already reached its limit.
Then suddenly...

Thud!
A heavy metallic locking sound echoed loudly around him.
The instant the sound reached his ears, Aether instinctively opened his eyes.
And froze.
Deep black metallic bars surrounded him from every direction.
He was inside a cage.
Aether slowly turned his head and saw Nyx standing outside the cage while holding a dark silver key between her fingers.
Her eyes looked unusually dark beneath the starry sky of her realm. Yet her lips carried an incredibly gentle and loving smile.
"I will protect my husband~" she said sweetly.
"...Shit."
That was the only thing Aether could say.
