Chapter 1632: We Fight Back Ruthless Too: Part-2
[MULTIPLE HOSTILES DETECTED.]
[COMMENCING EXTERMINATION.]
Machine guns opened fire first.
RATATATATATATATATA!!!
Explosive rounds tore through charging monsters, ripping flesh apart and spraying blood into the air. Yet the beasts didn’t stop. Even those missing limbs continued charging through pure rage and hunger.
One metallic figure swung an energy blade downward toward a giant horned creature.
But before the strike landed...
CHOMP!!!
The monster bit directly through the machine’s upper torso. Sparks exploded everywhere while metal screamed beneath crushing jaws.
Another machine fired point-blank into a scaled beast’s face. The creature’s skull exploded partially apart... yet it still lunged forward and tore the machine into pieces with its claws.
The battlefield became absolute carnage.
And right before the charging wave collided completely...
Thalia and Aria moved.
BOOM!!!
The ground beneath them shattered as both women launched into the air simultaneously.
Then, from below, something massive leapt upward to meet them.
A gigantic black panther.
Its body looked monstrous rather than natural, nearly the size of a house, with dark armoured fur and glowing crimson eyes. Each movement carried terrifying muscle force while smoke escaped from its jaws with every breath.
Thalia landed first atop the beast’s back with perfect balance.
Aria landed beside her smoothly, one knee bent while her bow spun once within her hand before settling into position.
The monstrous panther roared before charging directly into the battlefield.
The speed was horrifying.
Entire chunks of earth exploded beneath its paws while metallic units were crushed apart simply from being hit by its charge.
One massive machine attempted to intercept them by swinging a gigantic mechanical hammer downward. Hydraulic systems screamed beneath the weapon’s weight as it descended toward Thalia’s head.
But Thalia grinned.
A wicked, excited grin.
"Now this..."
Flames erupted around her arm as she moved slightly sideways.
"...feels like a real war."
She caught the gigantic hammer mid-swing with one hand.
BOOOOOOMMMMM!!!
The impact generated a shockwave powerful enough to flatten nearby debris. The panther beneath her skidded across the battlefield while the machine’s arm trembled violently from the collision.
The metallic figure immediately attempted to activate reverse boosters for another strike.
Too slow.
Thalia ripped the hammer directly out of its grip with raw force. Metal tore apart from the machine’s arm while sparks exploded from broken joints.
Then she raised the gigantic weapon effortlessly with one hand.
And swung.
CRAAAAASSSSHHHHHH!!!!
The hammer connected with the machine’s torso so hard that its entire upper body exploded into twisted fragments. The remains skipped across the battlefield like shattered scrap before crashing into three other units behind it.
Flames reflected in Thalia’s eyes as destruction unfolded around her.
Behind her, Aria continuously fired arrows with impossible precision.
Every release sounded sharp and deadly.
FWISH!
One arrow pierced directly through the visor of a flying unit before detonating inside its core.
FWISH!
Another wrapped glowing wires around their legs before violently electrocuting them from the inside.
FWISH!
A third split midair into dozens of smaller arrows that rained downward like silver judgment across the battlefield.
The metallic figures immediately opened fire without mercy.
RATATATATATATATATA!!!
Thousands of beams tore through the battlefield like silver storms. Muzzles flashed endlessly while barrels overheated within seconds, glowing orange from constant rapid fire. Explosive rounds shredded flesh apart, ripped limbs from bodies, and blew craters into the charging monsters.
Yet none of the creatures cared.
Cut off? No care!
Smashed? No care!
Pain meant nothing to them anymore.
Hunger drowned everything.
Even while riddled with holes, the monsters continued lunging forward with horrifying aggression. Their claws scraped violently across metallic armour, producing showers of sparks while their jaws bit through steel plating like tearing soft meat.
CHRRRKKK!!
One wolf-like beast lost half its face from gunfire, yet still slammed into a machine hard enough to knock it backwards. Its claws pierced directly into exposed joints before its jaws crushed the machine’s neck with a sickening metallic crunch.
Another gigantic reptilian creature took an entire barrage to the chest before leaping away, its massive body smashing three metallic figures into the ground beneath its weight. Hydraulic limbs snapped beneath the impact.
Meanwhile, above the chaos, Aria moved like silver lightning.
She leapt from one monster to another with impossible precision, her body twisting gracefully through smoke, blood, and flying debris. Every movement flowed naturally into the next as if the battlefield itself guided her steps.
Her bowstring never stopped moving.
FWISH!!
An arrow pierced directly into a machine’s knee joint.
The moment it connected, the crystal tip released a violent electric pulse. Blue sparks erupted across the metallic body instantly.
BZZZZZTTT!!!
The machine froze mid-motion as its entire nervous system malfunctioned.
FWISH!!
Another arrow struck a flying unit near its shoulder rotation point. Electricity spread through the wing stabilisers before the entire machine spiralled out of the sky uncontrollably and crashed into the ground below.
FWOOOM!!
A third arrow exploded into dozens of smaller conductive wires that wrapped around multiple targets at once, paralysing entire groups of machines simultaneously.
All thanks to Lyirrs’ research on the secured mech-suit.
The giant cannon continued firing without pause.
BOOOOOOMMMM!!!
Another frozen blood shell launched across the battlefield.
Even when the metallic figures dodged the direct impact, the shells still burst apart midair, spraying monster blood and flesh across massive areas. Thick crimson liquid coated armour plating, weapons, visors... everything.
And the monsters smelled it instantly.
No matter where the machines moved, they became walking targets.
SWWNNGGG~!!!
CRRRAAAKKKK!!!
MURRRKKKKK!!!
Gigantic mechanical weapons swung again and again across the battlefield.
One metallic figure crushed smaller monsters beneath its hammer like stepping on insects. Flesh exploded beneath the weapon while bones shattered into paste across the ground.
Another machine rotated its arm completely around before slicing through five charging beasts with a glowing energy blade.
Yet more monsters immediately replaced the dead ones.
And from the sky, the cages were falling down again and again.
A horde was not something to underestimate.
The battlefield transformed into a crimson nightmare.
Gunfire roared endlessly.
Claws screeched against metal.
Flames melted armour plating.
The ground itself disappeared beneath layers of blood, shattered metal, and corpses. Smoke swallowed the slowly dawning sky while the smell of burning flesh and molten steel suffocated the air.
For the Terra People...
This battlefield looked like the end of the world itself.
And Raven made sure every single person saw it.
The live footage spread everywhere.
People watched silently as those terrifying metallic figures... the same monsters that once shattered their hope... were finally being destroyed.
One by one.
A machine collapsed beneath a dragon’s jaws.
Another exploded from Aria’s arrows.
Another disappeared beneath a wave of monsters, tearing it apart piece by piece.
Inside the shelters, expressions slowly changed.
Fear weakened.
Despair cracked apart.
Children stared wide-eyed at the screens while exhausted adults clenched their fists silently. Some cried without realising it.
Others laughed shakily for the first time in days.
"YOU ALL DESERVED IT!!"
"DIE! DIE!"
"TORE THEM APART!"
"NO MERCY!!"
Hope.
A tiny light buried beneath endless darkness.
And this...
This was exactly what Aqualina wanted.
Even if they lost once...
Even if the world broke before their eyes...
She did not want empty speeches.
She did not want legends or comforting tales.
She wanted the people to witness it with their own eyes.
To see their rulers fighting at the very front.
To show the world one simple truth.
These things could bleed.
These things could fall.
And they could still beat the absolute shit out of them.
BOOOOMMMM!!!
Inside one of the tents, Nightfire suddenly flinched awake.
"W-What...?"
Her sleepy eyes blinked rapidly while her messy hair stuck wildly in every direction. She sat upright while clutching the blanket tightly around herself.
"D-Did someone attack us?"
Nightfire immediately tried to climb out of bed despite still being half asleep.
But before she could leave the tent, a calm voice came from outside.
"Everything is under control, Little Sister Nightfire. You can continue sleeping."
The voice sounded gentle... yet carried a cold authority beneath it.
Nightfire instantly relaxed after recognising it.
".... Okay, Big Sis Raven..."
Without even questioning further, she dropped backwards onto the soft bed again and hugged her pillow tightly against her chest.
Within seconds, her eyes were already closing again.
Honestly... she truly had terrifyingly reliable older sisters.
Even if they occasionally beat her senseless whenever she caused trouble.
But to be fair... she usually deserved it for being naughty!
Cutting their panties, buying weird clothes and teaching... weird techniques!
And after being worked almost to death recently, she desperately needed sleep more than anything else.
"Aether~"
She mumbled the name softly in her sleep while curling deeper into the blanket.
Outside the tent, explosions continued shaking the distant horizon.
But Nightfire slept peacefully through all of it.
