Chapter 518: Chapter 280: Test Results That Shocked the Examiner!

On the other end of the phone, Lin Yu’an was silent for a moment before slowly saying, "Let’s go with the new plan."

Matty hung up the phone and walked to the giant floor-to-ceiling window. Looking at the bustling city below, he knew that the design he was just involved in might not be the most profitable case of his career.

But it was definitely the most exhilarating and crazy in terms of legal skill. He had built a truly impregnable fortress of wealth for a client.

After ending the call with Matty, all the arrangements were finally settled.

The financial war was over, and the legal fortress was complete. What remained was to wait.

Wait for that astronomical wealth to flow through layers of complex offshore pipelines, eventually converging into a mighty stream that could leverage his future kingdom.

Matty estimated that this process would take one to two weeks.

And during this time, for Lin Yu’an, it was the perfect window to conquer another sky.

In the days that followed, Lin Yu’an transitioned from a strategic capital hunter back to a pure student with a deep longing for the sky.

He no longer touched any business-related documents, nor did he care about the external chaos. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to the study of aviation theory and the companionship of his family.

Every morning, he would accompany Aliya and Emily, holding the two toddlers who had just learned to toddle, welcoming the first precious ray of sunshine on the snowy ground outside the cabin.

Aliya and Emily, after finishing their yoga practice in the living room, would plan the decoration of each room in the future main house, while looking at the breathtaking photos of the Giant Stone River Heritage Ranch on the tablet.

Lin Yu’an, on the other hand, sat in front of the fireplace, chewing on those two thick flight textbooks that were like bricks.

The light of dawn lingered longer each day over this ice-sealed land.

Lin Yu’an dialed Hank’s number: "Hank, I’m ready."

Hank’s hearty laughter echoed: "Just afraid your hands will shake once you’re up in the sky."

When the weather finally stabilized, and for several days there were clear skies suitable for flying, Hank arrived on time in his red-and-white Cessna 185.

Hank jumped off the plane: "Kid, how’s your theoretical knowledge going?"

Throwing a canvas bag stuffed with charts and flight computers to Lin Yu’an, he said, "If you can’t tell an airspeed tube from a static tube, I’ll surely kick you out of the sky."

"Feel free to test me anytime," Lin Yu’an replied with a confident smile, taking the heavy package.

"You’ve got some nerve," Hank snorted, but there was a hint of approval in his eyes.

Pointing at the plane, he said, "Then stop wasting time. Today, I’m giving you your first lesson. No charge, consider it a friend’s perk."

Lin Yu’an didn’t stand on ceremony. He knew that the direct guidance of an experienced bush pilot was more valuable than any flight school’s courses.

He followed Hank, conducting a pre-flight inspection on an aircraft for the first time as a student.

"Look closely, Lin." Hank’s voice turned extremely serious, devoid of his usual banter.

"Before every flight, you must carefully check it like a first date, ensuring you’ve brought a condom."

"You have to understand, any problems discovered on the ground are a million times luckier than discovering them in the air."

"Leading edge of the wings, check for dents or bird strike marks. Ailerons, check if movement is smooth, and if connections are secure. Flaps, likewise."

"The fuel is paramount." Hank unscrewed the wing fuel cap, using a transparent fuel stick to draw a sample of light blue aviation gasoline from the bottom drain valve of the tank.

"Look here, check for water or sediment. Aviation fuel is lighter than water, so if there’s water, it will sink to the bottom."

"Even a single drop of water in the high altitudes of an Alaskan winter could freeze, block your fuel line, and then... pray."

"Tires, check the pressure and wear. Landing gear, check for cracks. Fuselage, check if any rivets are loose..."

"Propeller, carefully inspect the edges for any nicks from rocks. A small nick could lead to a fracture when spinning at high speed."

The whole process was tedious and meticulous, but Lin Yu’an listened intently.

His enhanced brain, like a high-definition camera, imprinted Hank’s every action and key point firmly.

With the inspection complete, the two boarded the plane.

"Alright, now match those instruments you saw in the book with these real ones in front of you," Hank pointed at the cockpit’s densely packed instrument panel.

Almost without thinking, Lin Yu’an identified each of the "Big Six" instruments and even flawlessly described the more complex radio and navigation equipment on the side.

For the first time, Hank’s face showed genuine surprise. This kid wasn’t kidding. He had really absorbed that several hundred-page tome.

"Alright, I guess you weren’t just bragging," Hank muttered, starting the engine.

The propeller began to spin, roaring thunderously.

As the plane slid onto the makeshift snow runway, Hank slammed the throttle to full power. The powerful thrust pinned them against the seatbacks.

While completing the final pre-takeoff checks, Hank shouted each step in near yells, explaining the process.
