Chapter 1283: Chapter 766: Comparison (3)
Qin Feilian knew their master held Yue Honglian in high regard, and naturally took extra care to protect her. Although Li Xiulian’s talent was slightly inferior, her character was generous, and Qin Feilian had a favorable impression of her.
As for White Ape Lord, Qin Feilian didn’t like him as much. Despite having Earth Immortal Cultivation, this monkey loved to stir up trouble everywhere, making him quite worrisome.
White Ape Lord knew he wasn’t well-received, and he bared his teeth, cupping his hands to Qin Feilian: "Fellow Daoist Qin, much obliged, much obliged."
Qin Feilian responded indifferently: "Fellow Daoist Bai, just sit by yourself. I won’t entertain you."
"No need, no need, we’re all family. No need for formality."
White Ape Lord, with the thickest skin, wouldn’t mind in the least. He laughed and sat next to Yue Honglian.
Yue Honglian didn’t mind White Ape Lord either. With her senior sister, she felt somewhat uneasy, but having a chatterbox like White Ape Lord was much better.
Originally, Yue Honglian thought it would be great to sit and chat with White Ape Lord while watching the commotion. But she soon realized she was mistaken.
All the major Cultivator Sects would come to visit for small talk, one group after another, endlessly.
Every time guests arrived, Qin Feilian would introduce Yue Honglian.
Being young, Yue Honglian lacked the experience to entertain and converse with guests. Facing wave after wave of guests, she could only try her best to smile.
With thousands of sects participating in the Tri-Element Dharma Assembly, even if only a small portion of them wanted to build rapport, there would be no time for rest.
Yue Honglian secretly cursed but couldn’t leave. She could only grit her teeth and endure.
Fortunately, White Ape Lord was beside her, occasionally introducing the guests’ backgrounds and personalities. It wasn’t too dull and boring.
White Ape Lord suddenly reminded Yue Honglian: "See, over there are Hua Feiye, Ye Changming, Celestial Fragrance, Lu Buqun..."
Following White Ape Lord’s prompts, Yue Honglian looked over and indeed saw a group of impressive young individuals approaching together.
The leading woman of the group wore a purple long dress. Her appearance seemed extraordinarily beautiful, yet remarkably dignified, or perhaps extremely stern. Her facial features showed no change, yet her demeanor seemed to constantly change, making her hard to grasp.
"Fairy Meng Die, a formidable figure. Don’t stare at her for too long, lest you fall into her butterfly dream Illusion Realm..."
White Ape Lord cautioned Yue Honglian not to stare at Fairy Meng Die.
In fact, many people are like this; the less they can discern, the more they want to see. Consequently, they fall into Fairy Meng Die’s trap.
He whispered again: "Appearance stems from the mind; whatever Fairy Meng Die looks like is what you imagine, it’s not real."
"That old monkey is talking about me again..."
Fairy Meng Die had already gracefully arrived. With a half-smile, she teased White Ape Lord.
Though White Ape Lord feared nothing, he had suffered great losses at Fairy Meng Die’s hands. He was apprehensive about her. He hurriedly cupped his hands: "The old monkey enjoys babbling nonsense; please, don’t mind him, Fairy."
Qin Feilian chimed in: "Fellow Daoist Bai just talks too much; Fairy shouldn’t take it to heart."
With Qin Feilian intervening, Fairy Meng Die couldn’t trouble White Ape Lord further. She smiled at Qin Feilian and said: "The last time we met, Fellow Daoist Feilian was thousands of years ago. Your cultivation has advanced again. Congratulations."
"You’re too kind, Fairy."
Qin Feilian was very polite; the origins of this Fairy Meng Die were mysterious, and her cultivation was profound. Even her master dared not underestimate her, so she certainly wouldn’t be careless.
As the two powerhouses exchanged pleasantries, the surrounding people didn’t have the opportunity to speak, all smiling obsequiously, occasionally nodding in agreement.
After some courteous exchanges, Fairy Meng Die introduced Hua Feiye and other talents one by one.
Hua Feiye was Fairy Meng Die’s disciple, her appearance elegant and her voice gentle. Many female cultivators participated in the Tri-Element Dharma Assembly. Hua Feiye’s appearance was considered the best.
Celestial Fragrance was also a female cultivator, but she hid her face behind a light, mist-like white gauze, appearing extremely mysterious. She spoke the least. Her style resembled Fairy Meng Die’s, yet she was a disciple of the Profound Yin Sect.
Ye Changming was the disciple of Polar Star Monarch, handsome in appearance and cold in demeanor.
Lu Buqun, a disciple of Celestial Peak Sect, was eloquent and humorous.
Initially, Yue Honglian didn’t pay much attention to the talents, but after chatting for a while, she found them quite interesting.
These people were not much older than her, highly valued in their respective sects, considered the prides of their sects.
Each one of them held themselves in high esteem yet had their own poise; their words and actions always measured.
Being among peers motivated Yue Honglian’s competitive spirit.
Actually, none of them admitted inferiority. After a few exchanges, the discussion turned to debating philosophies.
"Will Fellow Daoist Honglian take the stage?" Celestial Fragrance suddenly asked.
Originally, Yue Honglian didn’t plan to take the stage, but when asked, she didn’t want to appear weak: "My cultivation is shallow, and with such a valuable opportunity, of course I’ll take the stage to learn and exchange with cultivators around the world."
She then asked Celestial Fragrance: "Will you all take the stage?"
Before Celestial Fragrance could answer, she added: "We are all peers, we should exchange more."
Celestial Fragrance revealed a faint smile behind the veil: "Fellow Daoist Honglian’s Sword Intent is marvelous; I also wish to learn more from Fellow Daoist."
Ye Changming and Lu Buqun also expressed their interest in taking the stage for friendly exchanges.
White Ape Lord watched the lively exchange among the young cultivators and found it amusing.
The young cultivators’ open and subtle rivalry was indeed rather naive, yet full of vitality.
If there were no surprises, these few would become first-rate Earth Immortals in the next generation, becoming the mainstay of the Primordial Celestial Realm.
Among these few, Yue Honglian has the best talent. In the future, she even has the chance to become an unparalleled Sword Immortal. Though, she certainly could never reach the level of Yuan Qinglian.
