Chapter 957: Chapter 49 Great Progress in Skill

Over the past seven days, with Ah Dai’s diligent cultivation, he had managed to use the "Live and Transform" technique to conjure up a palm-sized white energy dagger or simple weapons like a pointed spike. Although small in size, their power was anything but negligible—using the energy dagger to cut through objects was virtually irresistible. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Looking at the small dagger in his hand, Ah Dai couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly to himself. Back in the day, in Nino Small Town of the Empire of Tian Jing, he had used a similar small dagger for thievery. Who would have thought that now he’d be conjuring a small energy dagger? Was he going to revert to his old ways?

The Sword Saint of the Tian Gang was very satisfied with Ah Dai’s speed of progress, sensing that Ah Dai wasn’t as dense as he appeared on the surface and that he possessed a high level of comprehension. To grasp the essence of the "Live and Transform" technique in such a short time was no easy feat. He didn’t offer Ah Dai too much guidance, simply asking him to get even more proficient at controlling the energy he conjured. The improvement of True Qi in "Live and Transform" wasn’t something that could be achieved overnight. Ah Dai’s fingers and wrists had been trained to be extremely flexible since youth. Now, handling the energy dagger felt quite natural for him.

Suddenly, Sheng Xie opened his eyes, his divine golden gaze clearly discerning every corner of the dim cavern. Yawning widely and stretching, he shook himself and stood up. After seven days of slumber, he had completely absorbed the energy from the five top-grade magic crystals, and his body had changed noticeably. His length had grown from one meter to about one meter and fifty, his dragon wings had thickened considerably, and most strikingly, a layer of fine gray scales had sprouted all over his body. While the scales were not yet sufficient to cover his entire body, they reflected a metallic luster and felt very hard to the touch. The seven protrusions on his back had become even more pronounced, and at the tips of the protrusions seemed to glimmer with golden light.

Sheng Xie wobbled out of the cavern, and as he did, Ah Dai’s thoughts stirred and he came out of his meditative state. Sheng Xie looked up at him and grunted affectionately a few times.

"Ah! Xiao Qie, you’re awake," exclaimed Ah Dai excitedly as he jumped down from the rock and hugged Sheng Xie’s neck, patting his satisfactorily plump head.

Sheng Xie rubbed against Ah Dai, sticking out his tongue to affectionately lick his face.

The Sword Saint of the Tian Gang also awoke from his meditation, his eyes sparking with energy as he nodded slightly and said, "Sheng Xie sure grows quickly! It’s only been seven days and his body has changed this much."

Sheng Xie stood up on his hind legs, supporting himself, and with clear golden eyes, glanced at the Sword Saint before patting his own belly and grunting a few times.

Ah Dai smiled and said, "Are you hungry? Come on, big brother will get you some food." He had prepared food for Sheng Xie a few days ago, and the cold temperatures at the mountain peak prevented it from spoiling.

To Ah Dai’s astonishment, Sheng Xie ate an amount of food equivalent to ten people before contentedly patting his bulging belly and starting to bounce and jump around the cavern.

"Ah Dai, why don’t you take it out to the entrance of the cavern to play? Today you should also start practicing ’Live and Transform,’" said the Sword Saint.

"Yes, Ancestor Master," Ah Dai obediently replied, after bowing to the Sword Saint, he took Sheng Xie out of the cavern. Sheng Xie was very clingy, always circling around him. He kept flapping his dragon wings trying to take flight, but would always end up crashing to the ground, covered in dirt. His body, however, was indeed resilient and he would quickly get back up after rolling around.

Once outside the cavern, Ah Dai activated his True Qi. The white light shielded him from the fog’s intrusion. Taking a deep breath, he reached out with his right hand and continuously directed his body’s liquid True Qi towards his palm. The first bits of white light appeared and under Sheng Xie’s astonished gaze, the light gradually expanded into a white solid mass the size of an egg. Controlled by Ah Dai’s will, the white solid slowly molded itself until it formed a small dagger, five inches long and half an inch wide, identical to the one Ah Dai once used for stealing. The halo of white light shimmered as Ah Dai’s flexible fingers made the dagger formed of solid True Qi dance above his palm.

Sheng Xie watched Ah Dai’s palm with his golden eyes, his own front paws moving along with the motions over Ah Dai’s hand, as if trying to imitate.

Ah Dai was completely focused on controlling the dagger in his hand. Over the past few days, he had become quite familiar with controlling the "Live and Transform" technique. Although the energy wasn’t very strong, the energy dagger under his control could easily penetrate anything. Within five meters, his spiritual power and True Qi worked together, allowing him full command over the solidified energy.

"Xiao Qie, don’t move around here. Or else you might get hurt," Ah Dai cautioned. He then floated ten meters away, his eyes gleaming coldly as he commanded, "Go." The white energy dagger soared into the air, flying around his body under his manipulation, changing shapes with each of Ah Dai’s movements. In an instant, the dagger turned into a white line of light, weaving a faint web of light around him.

Left alone, Sheng Xie grew bored as he did not want to disobey Ah Dai. Sitting on the ground, he picked up a palm-sized rock and began to play with it. After a while, Sheng Xie’s mouth curled into a sly, evil smile. With a flick, the rock in his hand suddenly flew towards Ah Dai.
