Chapter 951: Chapter 47 Return to the Holy See_5
Nasha was startled, and said, "Husband, could it be that after five years, you are not confident about defeating Ah Dai?"
Xuan Ye shook his head and replied, "It’s not that I’m not confident; I’m just a bit concerned. You haven’t seen the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang; you don’t understand how formidable he is. Who knows what that freakish old man will come up with in five years. Perhaps, he might really significantly enhance Ah Dai’s strength. However, rest assured, your husband isn’t a pushover either. I will also make progress in these five years."
Nasha leaned into Xuan Ye’s embrace and murmured, "I don’t care about anything else, as long as you and Yue Yue are safe."
Feeling his wife’s tenderness, Xuan Ye gently kissed her forehead and said, "Let’s go, let’s not keep that girl waiting. I also need to report this matter to Father, and as for our stance towards the Tian Gang Sword Sect, we still need to wait for his decision."
The couple returned to Xuan Yue’s room, just in time to see her walking out. She had changed into a white long dress, trimmed with golden thread, her blue hair re-braided into a long plait that fell past her knees, her lively spirit rekindled in her lovely face, holding the Angel Wand in her hand, looking truly like an angel descended to earth.
Xuan Ye looked at his daughter and then at his wife, sighing, "Sasha, Yue Yue really does look like you back then! I remember being captivated by your saintly demeanor."
Nasha’s face turned red, and she pinched Xuan Ye lightly, whispering, "Don’t talk nonsense in front of our daughter. Yue Yue, let’s go. I already spoke with your grandfather yesterday; he’s waiting for us in the Prayer Temple now."
Seeing her parents affectionate towards each other, Yue Yue couldn’t help but feel envy. If only she and Ah Dai could... how wonderful that would be! Blushing, she buried that thought deep in her heart, moved closer to her mother, and pulled her hand out of her father’s grasp, squeezing between them and said, "Then let us hurry, so we don’t keep Grandfather waiting too long."
Xuan Ye, watching his wife being taken over by their daughter, shook his head helplessly and said, "Let’s go."
In the Prayer Temple, the Pope was sitting cross-legged on a platform in front of the central Sky God Statue, his long white hair flowing down his back, his Golden Crown shining with a golden glow, his golden Ritual Robe emphasizing his noble status, a faint Sacred Aura filling the air around him, eyes closed, face bearing a slight smile. Behind him, the Sky God Statue had six pairs of snow-white wings, its sacred body wholly carved from white jade, always covered in a layer of hazy mist, obscuring its true face and giving it a mysterious aura.
"Red Robe Priest Xuan Ye, White Robe Priest Nasha, along with their daughter Xuan Yue, request an audience with His Holiness," a clear voice announced from outside the temple.
The Pope, still with his eyes closed, said indifferently, "Come in." His voice, though not loud, carried clearly. In the entire Prayer Temple, he was the only presence.
Xuan Ye’s family walked into the great hall, stopping ten meters in front of the Pope, performing the standard ritual of the Church with respect.
Xuan Yue, seeing her grandfather whom she hadn’t seen for many days, seized a moment when her parents were not paying attention, and suddenly ran towards him. "Grandfather!"
Xuan Ye did not stop Xuan Yue but shook his head helplessly instead.
The Pope slowly opened his eyes, his gaze so clear and gentle, as if one could see the vicissitudes of ages through them. Wearing a faint smile, he stretched out his hand, and a gentle glow enveloped Xuan Yue’s body, bringing her to the platform in front of him. "You rascal, you finally decided to come back."
Xuan Yue stuck out her tongue, saying, "I was dragged back by Dad. Grandfather, I missed you. How have you been?"
In the continent, the Pope, as the spokesperson for the Divine, held the most revered status, but Xuan Yue was his only granddaughter. For her, he was utterly helpless, speaking with a tender voice as any ordinary elderly man would, "As long as you don’t upset your grandfather, he won’t be dying any time soon."
Xuan Yue suddenly grabbed the Pope’s white beard, feigning anger, "Grandfather, don’t say such things. How could you die?"
Xuan Ye scolded, "Yue Yue, do not be disrespectful to Grandfather."
Grabbing Xuan Yue’s hand, the Pope said, "You imp, you are getting bolder by the day. Let go now, your grandfather has only these few precious beard hairs to bolster his appearance." With a flick of his robe sleeve, a holy glow enveloped Xuan Yue completely, holding her firmly in place, forcing her to stay obediently beside the Pope.
