Chapter 935: Chapter 44 Xuan Ye Arrives_4

Xi Wen smiled faintly, took a step forward to stand in front of Ah Dai, and said, "Bishop, we also understand the evil nature of the Sword of Hades, but the Life Force Qi of our sect is exactly what counters it. I believe Ah Dai has the ability to be its guardian, and he will not kill without justification. Otherwise, the Tian Gang Sword Sect would not let him off easily either. I think the guarantee of our sect should be acceptable to you, right?"

Given the reputation of the Tian Gang Sword Sect on the continent, and the guarantee made by its current Sect Leader, it truly put Xuan Ye in a difficult position. He was well aware that unless all four Cardinals in Red were present, it was impossible to contend with the Tian Gang Sword Sect. Hesitating for a moment, Xuan Ye said, "I trust the guarantee of your sect. However, whether Ah Dai has the strength to guard the Sword of Hades remains a question. How about this—if he can withstand my Attack Magic for five seconds without falling, then I will acknowledge his strength. What do you think?"

Xi Wen’s heart trembled. He knew that Cardinal Xuanye in Red had already made a significant concession. Turning to look at Ah Dai, who had a blank expression on his face, Xi Wen couldn’t decipher his inner feelings. Xi Wen felt unsure himself; he knew Xuan Ye made a valid point that guarding the Sword of Hades indeed required great strength. Although Ah Dai had reached the fifth level of Life Force True Qi, Xuan Ye was a Cardinal after all, possessing a status second only to one in the church. Xi Wen wasn’t very familiar with Magic Attacks and didn’t know whether Ah Dai could withstand Xuan Ye’s magic.

Suddenly, Xuan Yue spoke up, "Ah Dai, just give it a try. I believe in you."

Zhou Wen said, "That’s right, Ah Dai, just try it. No matter how powerful his magic is, with the Sword of Hades, you can surely break through."

Xuan Ye’s complexion changed slightly, thinking to himself how he could have forgotten the Sword of Hades. If the Sword of Hades were unleashed, could he withstand it? The legendary power of ultimate evil made him somewhat fearful, as the Sword of Hades bore the notoriety of killing with each stroke.

Ah Dai shook his head, "No, we cannot use the Sword of Hades. If the Sword of Hades is drawn, someone must die. Uncle Bishop, I am willing to rely on my own strength to try your magic. If I am not capable enough to protect the Sword of Hades, then please take it away. But, if I feel that I can protect it, I will come to ask you for it back."

Upon hearing that Ah Dai would not use the Sword of Hades, Xuan Ye felt relieved and his perception of Ah Dai improved slightly. He nodded, "Alright, it’s too cramped here; let’s go outside."

Xi Wen glanced at his junior brothers, made a gesture for Xuan Ye to go first, and Xuan Ye, without any hesitation, took Xuan Yue and led the way out the door.

Xi Wen patted Ah Dai on the shoulder and said to Yan Shi and Yan Li at the side, "You two are not strong enough and might get involved, so it’s better not to go."

Yan Shi, looking at Ah Dai’s perplexed face, said, "Teacher Xi Wen, you must protect Ah Dai!"

Xi Wen nodded, "Don’t worry, let’s go." Saying this, he led Ah Dai and several junior brothers out of the hall. Outside, Xuan Ye stood proudly, while Xuan Yue bowed her head, crying softly. She knew that whether or not Ah Dai could endure her father’s attack, she would have to return to the church with him.

Xi Wen suggested, "Bishop, let’s go to the open space on the mountain peak."

Xuan Ye nodded slightly, "Good, please lead the way."

Xi Wen led Ah Dai and several junior brothers outside, while Xuan Ye failed to notice that one of Xi Wen’s junior brothers was now missing from the group.

The group left the Tian Gang Sword Sect compound and arrived at the flat and expansive mountaintop. Suddenly, Xuan Yue raised her head and said to Xuan Ye, "Dad, don’t restrain me anymore. Your magic might hurt me."

After making his proposal earlier, Xuan Ye had decided to give it his all, resolved not to let Ah Dai last for five seconds. Going full force, it would indeed be difficult to be mindful of his daughter. He quickly lifted the seal on Xuan Yue, "Move further away and use the Phoenix’s Blood to protect yourself. I will do my best to control the energy."

Xuan Yue obediently nodded and ran to one side. As she passed by Ah Dai and the others, she locked eyes with Ah Dai. Both their bodies shuddered and they showed complex emotions. Ah Dai had already despaired when Xuan Ye called him a demon, while Xuan Yue was filled with reluctance at the prospect of separation. She bit her lip and whispered, "Protect yourself with the Dragon’s Blood. You must hold on!" The reason Xuan Yue had agreed with her father earlier was because Xuan Ye was unaware that Ah Dai was carrying the Dragon’s Blood.

Upon hearing Xuan Yue’s words, a glint finally rose in Ah Dai’s eyes, and he nodded slightly. Just then, a deep voice suddenly echoed in Ah Dai’s ear, "Child, don’t be startled and don’t move. Go forth confidently and challenge that arrogant young man. Everything will be fine with me here, so go ahead." Ah Dai was startled; it was the voice of the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang. He looked around but saw no trace of the Sword Saint.

"What are you looking at? Didn’t I tell you not to be surprised? I’m speaking to you using the Sound Transmission technique. Remember, when facing a Magic Attack, protect your whole body with Life Force Qi, and keep your intent fixed in your heart. No matter how the opponent attacks, stay resolute, and rely on your own body as your foundation, as immovable as mountains and peaks."

Xuan Ye, growing a little impatient, said, "Ah Dai, come on. If you can take my attack, I will allow you to guard the Sword of Hades."

Ah Dai’s body trembled as Xuan Ye’s piercing gaze seemed to penetrate to his core, the immense mental pressure preventing any thoughts of resistance, and he could do nothing but lower his head and slowly walk forward.
